this guy is retarded he asks why have beginers do beginer stuff like ok lets have an fat dude run 3 miles you know whats gonna happen puke and quit for the day no results and walking is perfectly fine cardio just dont walk hella slow
I had someone while I was doing a Turkish Get Up, ask me "what does that muscle isolate." But I also has someone ask me, when squatting, when I was going to get out of the "curl rack".
Lie. Tony horton never says you need only ONE dumbell or pullup bar. He says one set of dumbells/resistance bands and a pullup bar. Ive gotten amazing results from p90x and now going into army training. This guy has no idea what hes talking about.
@asre2001 just because a workout (such as crossfit) will beat you senseless, does NOT mean it is good for combat fitness.... hint... CROSSFIT IS NOT COMBAT FITNESS!
@asre2001 I know you never mentioned crossfit. I didn't say you did. Just saying about "P90, I dont know anything about working out so I need this expensive video series". lifting 25 lb dumbbells does not work your posterior chain enough for ruck marching and common load bearing.
Okay p90x wont help with some army aspects, but it will help with others. I was not able to do a single pull up before I started the program. Now I am able to do 10 unassisted pull ups
@asre2001 Keep in mind. Depending on the way you're working out, you COULD be damaging your CNS while doing so. do NOT ever train to failure as a military person.... unless you aren't combat arms... but even then... it is UNNECESSARY! LIke I said, it will help improve fitness... TO AN EXTENT. But that doesn't even mean it's good for you.
@asre2001 wrong. That is a myth. There are certain things that work and certain things that DO NOT work. You can't do bodybuilding and expect to be fit for combat. sure, you'll look SEXY for the LADIES, but you sure won't be able to climb, roll, shoot, etc... worth a crap. there is NO SUCH THING as "general fitness"
So your saying i would be just as effective before i did p90x? Soo all that muscle gain, jump training, and balance (through yoga) with p90x will not help me in any way for the army? Guess I should go back to being 200 pounds.
@asre2001 no. I'm not saying that at all. Yes P90X will improve your fitness level, but for what exactly? think about that? the best thing in P90X is pullups because it is functional. A lot of what he does is combing aerobics with weights.... why not do kettlebell clean and jerks? turkish get ups? weighted pullups? THOSE are things that will train the muscles you use during military training. FYI... I've been in for over 7 years.
@StrengthFromAbove83 Wow, its funny how the military makes you do tons of push ups, sit ups, and pull ups and that is what p90x does and more, how can it not be good if you want to join the military... sure you could do other stuff to help but i promise you that if you did the program right for 90 days you would not have any trouble in basic training or officer training..
@asre2001 Just so you know the Army actually wants everyone to do p90x, my friends are in the military and they do it... and im doing p90x to get in shape to become a pilot.. So dont listen to this dumb ass telling you otherwise..
@asre2001 another note on "any kind of fitness".... pushups are not functional for a "fitness test" (APFT), neither is a 2 mile run, neither are situps. If you want to be good at rucking.... NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING will prepare you BETTER than .... rucking. now, some things will HELP with rucking.... deadlifts, kettlebell swings, clean and jerks, snatches...
Did you know that these guys injested enough steriods to kill a horse?. There recovery time and muscle growth were a direct result of their drug use more than their workout techniques. These guys would have had impressive phyiques no matter what form of training they were doing.
Training to failure, negatives, and forced reps all mistakes??? Tell that to Dorian Yates, Mike Mentzer, Casey Viator, and a whole host of others. Do you know that you are actually strongest on the negative portion of a rep and that more muscle fibers are stimulated during the negative that the positive or static portions of a rep?
This guy is a douche bag.
