Before the invasion, the Italians just asked to occupy our harbours in order to have a better connection to Africa. Hitler himself, admired the Greeks and was sure they would accept. We refused. That caused an invasion by the Italians we could surprisingly fight them back. That was the first time, the Axis was stopped at all, which indeed brought hope to the occupied Polish, Frensh and many other people.

1) Greece had the two of the largest partisan groups during the war, which fought bravely and under huge losses against the enemies. Under them were lots of jewish people fighting side by side with their compatriots. Only one of the Partizan Groups was Communist. The ELAS. The others werent. The Greek Resistance became famous during the war, and had a huge moral effect to the other Allies.
