I own a 2007 A4 2.0T when it works, I love it, great gas mileage, smooth, comfortable ride, and I had the ECU remapped to give it about 45 more hp, so it's a blast to drive. They are relatively easy to work on, and, more often than not parts that fail are covered by an extended warranty or recall. The only downside is that if you do have a mechanical failure out of warranty the price tag adds up quickly...

@xiphos, and lastly the prius is not the ultimate fuel efficient, its is mediocre at best as in fuel effeciency. there were alot of car in the past that got higher mpg, example a 1965 subaru bug that was small like a smart car but got 66 mpg in japan. nowdays vw polo get up to 74 mpg and its not a hybrid. so for the yanks the prius is a fuel efficient, ultimate machine. because detroite big 3 corp is american mentality bigger is better, its safer,and most have ridiculius power, and crappy mpg.

The Audi has an almost identical awd system to the Subaru. In all their manual cars Subaru uses a copy of the quattro 50-50 power split awd system with front and rear independent suspension. I have a 96 legacy and it works awesome in snow like this

The difference between the 80 and 90 wasn't cosmetic (in this model) it was in the engine, running gear, etc. With earlier models it was easy to tell the 80 and 9 apart - I owned a 90 quattro 1985 and 1990. I am interested to know how you could tell it was an 80?

@Theagchm Exept engine gears etc there is a difference, 90 is slightly bigger than 80 and have different backlights. It is like diference between audi A4 and A6 today! I know that this is an audi 80 because i own exacly the same one as it is on this video.

@milos2404 I think you are right. It is a small difference but well spotted. Ive had 2 90 quattros, one of this era one of the previous era and this generation is harder to spot.. One of the 90s I had looked the same as the one in the video but I guess I wasn't as observant as I usually am. Audi Quattro system - there is just no substitute.

not ALL 4Motion is Haldex nor is all Quattro Torsen. has to do with which motor & Platform is used. Audi TT is a Transverse Engine and Haldex. Passat is Longitude Audi V6 and Torsen.  Its the exact same system.

The best thing about the Subaru is it's about half the price of the Audi and has a comparable AWD system performance wise. I'm loving my WRX.

We just had 18 inches of snow in NY and I'm the only one on my block that owns a Subaru and was the only one who could drive without getting stuck. I got a 2008 Subaru legacy GT with all season tires. I just drove off with no problem from being parked in 18 inches of snow. Audi and Subaru are the best cars for the snow.

The Subie sure has. The AUDI A4 and 90 were available with or without quattro (AUDI's awd system with torsen center differential). I think those are AUDI quattro's, probably they wouldn't do so well in snow without awd.

You are right. As for the A4, I think it is equipped with the asymmetric Haldex differential instead of the symmetric Torsen.
