holy.. did you see the jump the mark had at the beginning, sweet ride man, i got a 95 with a catback exhaust, will be looking into modifying when im older and have more money :)
The only reason the mustang lost is because he is sucking hot air from the engine compartment loosing horse power! Bring that cool air in from the fender and line them up again the outcome will be different!
@paulmasson411 Thats the most rediculous shit I ever heard. If you watch closly, the mustang screwed up and granny shifted. Even if he had his stuff together it would have been a close race. Do you honestly think you are going to get .5 second or even a tenth out of relocating the inlet? With this car going as fast as it is already?
@windstarpro Dude do your research I am not saying the stang is going to put car lengths on the Mark VIII tell me why they make inter coolers too do what???? Thats right cool the air when it goes in the motor so you can get up too that .5 or up too 50hp by getting cooler air and I had a 95 gt with a kennebell when I changed mine and dyno it I picked up 19 more hp if he change it like the Mark VIII is doing and dont screw up and granny shift it will make difference
@paulmasson411 Research? What are you talking about... Im not trying to beat my chest, but I have been around, and around, even with imports. Not that I own any imports!! Anyway, even if the guy managed to get 20hp or so out of it, it wouldn't have made a difference. If he banged when he shifted, he would have been a solid winner.
4v kick ass. we used to have a 93 Mark VIII that had 197k miles on it and still ran great. my dad even lit up the tires at a stop light in the center of town. lol
the only problem with the lincoln is weight, they are like 4,000+ pound cars.
@COUGAR80803 Your talking about the Mark 8 in the video? Mine weighs in at 4300# with me and a full tank of fuel. Still does low 12s and 60fts low 1.6s. I have another I drive daily it weighs about 4100.
@windstarpro Interesting. Both of your Mark VIIIs weigh more than mine. You are well beyond the curb weight. Where does the extra weight come in at? Mine weighs 4000# with me in it and a full tank of gas.
@MrHotrodlincoln Yeah, thats what they both went over the scales at. Didn't really add anything other than a sub in my gold car. I just figured thats what they all weighed. Could hit it a little harder off the line if I could drop about 500lbs. Factory axles start breaking around 1.55 sec/60ft. That really beats you up when you have to make it up on the top end, good luck then since horse power doesnt go as far with a heavy car!
@windstarpro I anticipate 1.7- 1.8s to be the best I'll see in the naturally aspirated condition it is in now. I know what you're saying. Weight is HUGE. 100# is a tenth and at the track, a tenth is huge.
Very Nice Cars, Fast. Close racing like that makes it fun. I had a race like that with TM just slower 11.86 to 11.87

can the 4R70W transmission take that kind of horsepower?

I would have expected the Mustang to win this one as it weights a bit less than the Mark. Still a VERY VERY close race.
