what's amazing is that i knew a guy who lived in france for a while, and he somehow had exactly that same knowing laugh. i wonder if he picked it up there.
@9876543210bleh Man, I had a lot of trouble translating this particular line in the performance! Part of it was because of how fast it was spoken! : P
@thepappytube Got back a week ago! The jet lag is mostly gone (yaaay!)
I really do love making these translations. I don't think my regulars like them as much as I do, and that's fine. One big reason I do it is for practice.
@blkfrhwk Both! I've been to Japan twice now and the first time I had taken a semester's worth of Japanese and my speaking ability and confidence were both fairly low. After spending a semester in Japan, my speaking was much better.
This time, I went to Japan with about three years worth of classroom training. My speaking is much more proficient and varied, as is my writing, but my reading is terrible.

I think it's worth noting that the name jokes play on the fact that Sato and Suzuki are the two most common names in Japan

訳間違ってるよ。
シャラップじゃなくて、ジュテームは愛してるって意味
男性教師に愛してるって言われて戸惑う男子生徒ってことじゃないかな?

not " Takehash i", but " Takahashi".
jinhigup 6 months ago
@jinhigup You are probably right, but they say it in such a strange way, that to a non-native speaker, it really could sound like either.

Absolutely hilarious!
Though I think he says "Marcel" (French name) at the beginning, and not "Marseille" (French city).

"TheFirst joy"is wrong.(Miscommunication to"Dai-ichi kanki"?)
Correct Word is "Dai-Ichi Kangin"(Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank.Currently,Mizuho bank from 2002.Merged with Industrial Bank of Japan, Fuji Bank)

@takechar Yeah, I thought something was funny with that translation. I'll fix this soon.

Isn't the Inoe part supposed to be Inoue? I'm quite sure that's how you write it if you try to romanize 井上
KrayZieAsSPiNoy 1 year ago
Yeah, it is Inoue. Amidst carefully checking the romanization of each name, I guess I missed that one.
Aside from the minor misspelling, I hope you enjoyed the video.

did you learn japanese by being immersed in it or did you go to japan already speaking the language?
