do you do partial water changes? and uh, UG filters should ALWAYS be paired with a chemical/ mechanical filter!!!

the only problem is the tapering sides mean there's less surface area so the water will be less oxygenated. guess you cud use an air stone though.

The undergravel filter is powered by a thermopump instead of an air pump. the water being returned is jetted through a ventura across the surface like a power filter. More efficient at airation than bubbles,and no noisey air pump. Silence.
