@androline I don't know whether to call you a world-class idiot or just an ordinary liar. OBVIOUSLY Collins is expanding on the answer to the question posed; which was WERE STARS VISIBLE "IN SPITE OF THE GLARE" OF SOLAR CORONA PHOTOGRAPHY. Nowhere does Collins say anything about never looking out the window. If anything, "I don't remember seeing any" implies he DID look out, and then saw none. Idiots like you post crap like this and wonder, or pretend to wonder, why you get a hostile reception
@MsMaggieOC "He looked out and then didn't see any stars?...'Well, that's really the whole question here, isn't it? What would somebody see if they looked out one of the CM's 5 windows? Tell me, what do you see if you look out a window on a cloudless night? Quite likely, nothing but the glare off the window, unless the room has been darkened. And if there was a bright light outside, but nearby, you quite possibly wouldn't see any stars because the light was too bright.
@occhamite Out in space uh, ya sure right......all other real astronauts and those who pay to go into space go up just in low earth orbit space and say the stars are magnificent beyond words but it seems apollo 11 clowns are the exception to that rule., even way outside our magnetic field, even with no atmosphere on the moon, the "glare" takes away billions of bright diamonds all around, uh, yeah try better next time....
@MsMaggieOC Yes, that's EXACTLY right. Again: If you are in a small room, and it's a clear night outside, will you be able to see stars through the window?... well, gee... that depends on a lot of factors! How brightly lit the room is; where the light, the windows and you are located; whether or not there is a street-light, or some other bright light near the window outside... From some rooms you might see stars...others not. You'd have to be IN a particular room to know.
@occhamite yah, but not only did they not recall stars when staring right out the window, (btw other astronauts are heard saying they can't get out of the window because they can look at the stars for hours), they also don't recall stars when on the moon. this is completely impossible. Did you ever see the pictures of the moonwalkers with their visors up? Why aren't they blind from lethal solar particales, protons and electrons and how did they survive the cosmic radiation without lead?
@MsMaggieOC You didn't watch the video carefully. Neil says "We were never able to see stars from the Lunar surface or the daylight side of the moon with out looking through the optics...", NOTHING about NEVER being able to see stars out the window. The statement is perfectly reasonable. Other spacecraft - Shutttle, space tourism ships - are DESIGNED for better viewing, and the people are there for entirely different reasons - like star gazing for instance.
@occhamite Sorry, I'm not on "meds", not the psychotropic pharmaceuticals your are implying. I know most people are on something, so maybe you should look in the mirror, oh, are you telling me I should go get a script and be medicated because that's what you do, or that's the norm? @MsMaggieOC "...Why aren't they blind from lethal solar particales, ..." Because the solar particles are not lethal, or even dangerous at the low intensities and short exposure times Apollo crews were subjected to. This is a perfect example of repeating a false idea so often and for so long that in the mind of some, it becomes "true". Do some research on it, see for yourself what ALL the experts in the field have to say. They are clear: Apollo mission doses were ~ 1rem; Nothing.
@occhamite what shielded lethal cosmic rays? I'll invite u now to go find out what they are and what scientists say about them> Also, an xray picture of the moon shows trillions of speed of light particles bouncing off the moon, electrons, ions, protons, what shielded them against the dangerous space radiation outside earth's magnetic field?
@MsMaggieOC Nothing "shielded lethal cosmic rays" GCR dose rate is known to be ~1-2 millirem per hour, depending on SOLAR activity at the time in question: as solar activity increases, GCR dose rate decreases - the inner solar system is shielded to some extent by the resulting magnetic field. So, for an Apollo mission of ~ 10 days, the GCR dose is ~ 0.24 - 0.48 rem. GCR's are atomic nuclei, accelerated to nearly the speed of light thought to result from stars going super nova.

@MsMaggieOC You have trouble hearing what people say. I said "...the solar particles are not lethal, or even dangerous at the low intensities and short exposure times Apollo crews were subjected to..." If the crews had stayed in space for months or years, instead of ~10 days; or orbited within the VAB's instead of going around them - yes, then they'd eventually be dead or worse - in a couple of months or years.
@occhamite Are you crazy? What protected them against cosmic rays? Not just the solar flares, which btw cannot be anticipated. Right now naza admits they underestimated how powerful cosmic rays were and can't figure out how to get around it gooing outside leo. And yeah, they used "batteries" to keep their jiffy pop lander a nice cool 72 degrees for hours upon hours in intense heat right? whith no lead protecting them from lethal radiation. It's laughable, your "low dose" on the moon theory.
@MsMaggieOC "Are you crazy? What protected them.." READ the comments before you criticize them. When you don't understand something, either ask or research it until you get the answer. I'm glad you uploaded this, so from what I understand Patrick Moore could possibly the first person to figure out they faked the moon landing, I remember him saying that he had his suspicions when he asked this question in a tv interview.
No, you made that up. Patrick Moore never held any suspicions the moon landings were 'faked', and never stated any either. He's a scientist, an astronomer, not a conspiracy nut.
You need to go back and re-understand what you don't understand.
@MadHighway i'm prettysure I saw a documentary where he said he had his suspicions why else would they include him in it without his permission if he didn't think so?
There was a BBC show where Patrick Moore addressed and debunked Apollo hoax claims. Moore's favborite subject was the moon; he'd never be so gullible to buy into half-baked and completely non-scientific claims of a hoax.
"Patrick Moore and his guest tackle a common Moon hoax claim."--that's from the BBC website. Moore played devil's advocate to debunk a hoax claim. So again, you might go review what you heard before throwing about crass comments.
@thericate and just because someone is called a conspiracy theorist or a conspiracy nut doesn't mean conspiracies don't exist and aren't carried out regularly in the past and present. history and documented fact shows there were numerous conspiracies done by this government uncovered in this century and millions of plots have been discovered, foiled or carried out all over the world through history in civilization.Government and Conspiracy go hand and hand.
Looks like someone has been breathing too much of the mind controlling contrail chemical called "psychobabbleine" Methinks your tin foil hat is on way too tight.
These guys only look sad, nervous, or worried to people who are, themselves, sad, nervous, and/or worried. To normal, mentally healthy people, they look like humble human beings. The way people are supposed to act. And let's not forget that these guys weren't picked to be astronauts based on how well they speak in public.
Hoax theorists are pathetic little middleaged virgins living in there parents basement with no social skills so scared of the world outside that the only way they can deal with life is to target these truly amazing pioneers and to make themselves feel better.
stupid video ..... i just went outside in the daylight and i didnt see one star so is that proof i never went outside or is it because it is friken daytime .....hmmmm!
I must not have heard the same audio as this clip as there is NO MENTION of not looking out the window. They say " from the lunar surface they could not see any stars and I don't recall seeing any"
If you look up at the sky in day light, tell me, how many stars do you see?
Hoaxer loser.
NASA now releases close up photos of 3 landing sites...
HOAXERS = fail
can't wait to read the new theories though I have a feeling the words "faked" or "photoshop" may pop up
@Mattsretiring That is what I have been saying to idiots for years. On the Moonlight side where the Sun is above the horizon, you will not see any stars during the Moons day, like on Earth, because the Sun is a lot brighter than any stars, so it outshines them. A bit like 100 people holding up candles, then someone shining a very bright light at you. You will see the light, but not the candles. The only difference on the Moon, is that with no atmosphere, the sky is black, even in full sunlight.
The reality is this, these guys have gone where NO MAN has ever gone before....yet, they are lacking of emotion, excitement and joy....hell, they don't even have joy associated with having survived the supposed journey and re-entry back into the earth's atmosphere. How is that? When you see athletes/teams when championships, those fuckers are out of control, and are overwhelmed with excitement....but not the first 3 guys to ever supposedly walk on the moon?
@jetfreak4 stroll on fella, you got nothing to counter the massive weight of evidence that Apollo 11's moon landing was staged, all you got are your silly little insults. you're pathetic. and BTW can you explain to me why Neil Armstrong looks like he wants to slit his own wrists? when he's just been the centre of mankind's greatest achievement (supposedly)? I think it's a shame, he seems like such a nice man..
@SilverShamrock71 Neil wants to slit his own wrists? How is it he's still living after all these years? You obviously know nothing that prior to this conference they were in quarantine and isolated from their families for several weeks. If that makes you happy, I guess your family sucks.
@SilverShamrock71 To think you're qualified to judge how somebody else should feel in a situation you've never experienced truly shows your idiocy. Keep up the good work, idiot.
@SilverShamrock71 That's right, acknowledge your incompetence by engaging in pure namecalling like a kid instead of responding like an adult. You're the one that got all mad and turned this into a nasty confrontation to begin with, so saying i'm the prick is wrong, and it's hypocritical. So congrats on the triple whammy: incompetent, incorrect, and hypocritical. And concerning your moon logic, I'd add another round: stupid, full of shit, and fucking nuts. No charge necessary, my treat.
@SilverShamrock71 Where are the stars in the mid-day sky on Earth? The Sun outshines them all. Like on the Moon, except the sky is black, because there is no atmosphere. try making out 100 candles at a distance if someone is aiming a 1 000 000 Watt torch in your face?
What does Moore's question or the crew's answer have anything to do with looking out the spacecraft's window? They're talking about looking up from the surface of the moon, not about being in the spacecraft, and that much is clear. I can easily believe that no stars could be seen from the bright lunar surface due to many factors that aren't hard to deduce, and especially when photographing the sun itself, as Moore is asking. It's a very specific question, having zilch to do with windows.
Armstrong says "I don't recall, during the period of time that we were photographing the solar corona, what stars we could see". Well, you wouldn't, would you? A solar corona is extremely bright - how could you be expected to notice dim little stars at the same time?
Collins merely affirms this by saying "I don't remember seeing any" (while photographing the corona).
Your wilful twisting of his words as meaning he never looked out of the spacecraft window during the trip is a lie.
Only idiots think the moon landings were faked. None of the 'anomalies' stand up to scutiny. The landing sites were photographed last year by the Lunar Reconnaisaince Orbiter. Hoax theorists explain away any evidence that they are wrong as being part of the conspiracy. You'll never convince the world at large that the moon landings were fake, because they weren't. You're on the losing side, grow up and give it up.
The astrounauts not being able to see the stars has been disproven dozens of times Charles Duke even explained this one, the astronauts couldn't see the stars the same reason you can't see the stars in the day time the sun is too bright the cameras had the be adjusted to let very little sunlight in to prevent over exposure, that's not even given the fact that they were wearing the darkest sunglasses in the world and guess what - no stars!
Armstrong says that they weren't able to see stars from the lunar surface. Yet when they talk about the photographs having no stars, they say it was because the cameras were set to daylight exposure, and thus the stars didn't show up.
Which one is it, were there stars or not? Yuri Gagarin said that above the earths atmosphere, he could see more stars than were visible from the earths surface. I'm going with the cosmonaut on this one.
@sivraj25 You cannot see stars from the lunar surface because it was daytime, we cannot see or photograph stars in the day on earth so why expect to see them on the moon during the day? as for Gagarin if he was in the earths shadow and thus in darkness the he would be able to see stars, as for photographing them, try it yourself, it is not easy you need a steady hand and a long exposure time.
They are "alleged Apollo 11 crew"? So, you're suggesting these guys are not really Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins, but some impersonators?
Collins said NOTHING about "his entire trip." Collins ran the solar corona experiment from onboard the CSM and while in orbit, it would have been highly unlikely that we saw stars either through that experiment or on the daylight side of the moon--which is the same for Shuttle a-nauts on the daylight side of earth.
@androline 1)The Solar Corona is the Sun's "atmosphere" sort of speak and visibly is the immediate halo around the Sun. But technically speaking the Solar Corona extends millions of miles,we live inside the Solar Corona.2)P.Moore did not ask these hoaxers if they could see stars during the Solar Corona photography.3Armstrong doesn't even know what Solar Corona is -the mispronunciation of both the words is not acceptable and the little hand move when he said "soda corolla" means he doesn't.
Collins misguided and confused (from idiot Armstrong who brought the Solar Corona photography issue in to play) steps in to say his monumental and so stupid "I don't remember seen any" .But Armstrong for the moment thinks "what are you say you were never on the surface" and tries to nudge him with his left elbow. Then he realises(after a challenging look from Collins)that he is the one who first talked about Solar Corona photography and he whispers something to Collins in an apologetic manner.
Armstrong clearly said they could see stars when they used the optics on board the spacecraft. They could NOT see stars in the glare of full sunlight on the lunar surface.
You're doing the equivalent of putting words in people's mouths. Lousy tactics. Get an education.
Yeah..."Sad and worried" Cuz' they were quarentined in a can for 30 days after they got back, and the last thing they wanted then was to do a press conference. They wanted to go home to their families.
This video's a fail. Here another SHIT KICKER getting into the act.
I would like to thank Michael Collins for jumping in there and providing the best evidence of the moon landing hoax.
"I don't remember seeing any!" is simply an amazing quote for a guy that never even (supposedly) got out of the ship. What were you looking at out the window for 3 days, bugs on the windshield?
An ultraviolet telescope was taken to the lunar surface on Apollo 16 and operated in the shadow of the lunar module. It captured pictures of the earth and of many stars, some of which are dim in visible light but bright in the ultraviolet. These observations were later matched up with observations taken by orbiting ultraviolet telescopes. Furthermore, the positions of those stars with respect to the earth are correct for the time and location of the Apollo 16 photographs.

i studied, the russians had to unbolt the hatcht their spaceman and two people were present he could have gotten out. then the cryptic remark on glenns flight abut a defective bolt again a message to russians we knew they faked it, then the brits get in on the act with a cryptic question about the stars, its like everyone is willing to keep a secret and play the game. cool and enetraining if you ask me
@chazjohn46 if you are in the earths shadow and turn off cabin lights you will be able see stars, it childs play to understand this, apollo was in sunlight all the way to the moon so they would not be able to see stars
@datzfast Crew proberly can if they turn off the lights, but its harder to take pictures of stars, try it yourself you need long exposure time and a steady hand.
@kel1981, it may be possible to view bright planets like Venus or Mars at high altitude or in low earth orbit during daylight hours, but not easily. Shuttle astronauts report seeing very few stars and only with great difficulty and in the shade of the Shuttle or the International Space Station. Gene Cernan reported the same thing during Apollo 17--he could only faintly see a few stars while shading his eyes in the shadow of the LM.
@kel1981 LOl is that all you have to say? does your insult mean you dont have an answer? how come no stars are visible in high quality photos and videos of the ISS and space shuttle, its a question, can you answer it?
ha this is just funny america spends billionz on goin 2 space yet there are veterans who are homeless & hungry this is really funny now you are bein prepared by the media 2 go 2 war with iran ha jus funy america the almighty are guniea pigs of europe look at the treaties you signed with britain b4 you start bein all patriotic and shit im american my ass the land of the free my ass free 2 go to walmart and mcd and gettin your ass fat by eatin genetically modified foods made by coperations ha pliz
@wadza122 about 6 million veteran workers that own homes will tell you there will alway be homeless veterans that are hungry and mental illness has nothing to do with being a veteran.
Uh, I don't recall here hearing Collins say anything about looking out the window or anything about his entire trip! Moore's question was screwy! I'm sure Collins was thinking of the "Corona Experiment" which was his responsibility and I'm sure he never saw any stars when he looked through the optics of that experiment! I'm sure he has misunderstood Moore's bizarrely worded question. Why else would he be answering a question about "being on the surface" when he wasn't? Confusing question.
This has allways bothered me, that even on the trip to the moon the stars, planets, milky way etc were never mentioned. I have seen Jupiter in the early morning through earths atmosphere ! .. Surely this would have been one of the highlights of the trip for the crew ?... not implying that they didn"t go to the moon, but I really do wonder about it !

You need to go back and re-understand what you don't understand.

Oh, was your top post a joke, then? Suggesting a respected astronomer like Patrick Moore considered Apollo a hoax?
Patrick Moore never said any such thing.
MadHighway 2 months ago
@MadHighway i'm prettysure I saw a documentary where he said he had his suspicions why else would they include him in it without his permission if he didn't think so?
swiv2d 2 months ago
@swiv2d
MadHighway 2 months ago
@MadHighway i stand or sit corrected, but it's still a hoax regardless of what patrick Moore said.

Many athletes are also not excitable types. But the media shows only the exciting ones and follows around only the exciting ones.
Apollo and shuttle astronaut (and test pilot) John Young's heart rate on the first Shuttle mission was 80 bpm. His rookie co-pilot's rate was 160+.

TheWhisperingCactus 9 months ago
Armstrong says "I don't recall, during the period of time that we were photographing the solar corona, what stars we could see". Well, you wouldn't, would you? A solar corona is extremely bright - how could you be expected to notice dim little stars at the same time?
Collins merely affirms this by saying "I don't remember seeing any" (while photographing the corona).
Your wilful twisting of his words as meaning he never looked out of the spacecraft window during the trip is a lie.
eventcone 10 months ago
Only idiots think the moon landings were faked. None of the 'anomalies' stand up to scutiny. The landing sites were photographed last year by the Lunar Reconnaisaince Orbiter. Hoax theorists explain away any evidence that they are wrong as being part of the conspiracy. You'll never convince the world at large that the moon landings were fake, because they weren't. You're on the losing side, grow up and give it up.

kevinkoda 11 months ago

Michael Collins should have kept his mouth shut.
sivraj25 1 year ago
@sivraj25 Goes without saying, of course you will have better visibility up there, that's obvious.
kel1981 1 year ago
@sivraj25 You cannot see stars from the lunar surface because it was daytime, we cannot see or photograph stars in the day on earth so why expect to see them on the moon during the day? as for Gagarin if he was in the earths shadow and thus in darkness the he would be able to see stars, as for photographing them, try it yourself, it is not easy you need a steady hand and a long exposure time.
musicbruv 1 year ago
They are "alleged Apollo 11 crew"? So, you're suggesting these guys are not really Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins, but some impersonators?
Collins said NOTHING about "his entire trip." Collins ran the solar corona experiment from onboard the CSM and while in orbit, it would have been highly unlikely that we saw stars either through that experiment or on the daylight side of the moon--which is the same for Shuttle a-nauts on the daylight side of earth.

I guess he probably said coroNa
A solar corona is a kind of wind full of electromagnetic rays.
Short explanation for here but you can seek more on the subject / it's very interesting.
androline 1 year ago
@androline 1)The Solar Corona is the Sun's "atmosphere" sort of speak and visibly is the immediate halo around the Sun. But technically speaking the Solar Corona extends millions of miles,we live inside the Solar Corona.2)P.Moore did not ask these hoaxers if they could see stars during the Solar Corona photography.3Armstrong doesn't even know what Solar Corona is -the mispronunciation of both the words is not acceptable and the little hand move when he said "soda corolla" means he doesn't.
ApolloWasRealHoax 4 months ago
Collins misguided and confused (from idiot Armstrong who brought the Solar Corona photography issue in to play) steps in to say his monumental and so stupid "I don't remember seen any" .But Armstrong for the moment thinks "what are you say you were never on the surface" and tries to nudge him with his left elbow. Then he realises(after a challenging look from Collins)that he is the one who first talked about Solar Corona photography and he whispers something to Collins in an apologetic manner.

Furthermore, the positions of those stars with respect to the earth are correct for the time and location of the Apollo 16 photographs.

kel1981 1 year ago
@kel1981, it may be possible to view bright planets like Venus or Mars at high altitude or in low earth orbit during daylight hours, but not easily. Shuttle astronauts report seeing very few stars and only with great difficulty and in the shade of the Shuttle or the International Space Station. Gene Cernan reported the same thing during Apollo 17--he could only faintly see a few stars while shading his eyes in the shadow of the LM.

I'm sure he has misunderstood Moore's bizarrely worded question. Why else would he be answering a question about "being on the surface" when he wasn't? Confusing question.
