  • That music is all-time! Not so sure about the dancing but w/ever who am I to judge. I think at :57 seconds her dose of LSD may have kicked in.

  • this is a very young paddy - surely must be late 70's - early eighties!

  • just simply magic

  • This can't be TG4! The audience is too animated. TG4 audiences are frozen in stone.

  • RIP the late great Peadar Mercier indeed. Irelands first professional Bodhran player. A true trailblazer and a true gentleman too.

  • Catches the essense of Irish music perfectly

  • I might be wrong but, when bodhran was played simply like this...... Beautiful

  • what a good time these lot are having.wish i was there god bless ya xxx

  • Love the music. Hate the dancer.

  • @upkilt Don't know , upkilt , the dancer adds a litle frisson to it. She does no harm anyway. Tony cant keep his eyes off her near the end.

  • @mickigoe Olwen Fouere is an Abbey Actor & has appeared in a number of films.

  • @clarebannerman Thanks for that , clare. The lady has style.

  • @mickigoe I think he's more like wtf?

  • To me Tony personifies traditional music, he actually shines with committment......he's daft with it and we need more like him!

  • Yes have to agree it is an absolute cracker clip. Thanks for that. One question thought, why does the lovely dancer disappear just as she is loosening the belt on her dress.

  • Seán O'Riada, Ciarán Mach Mathúna & Tony MacMahon did more for Irish Traditional Music when it wasn't popular or profitable to do it. Jasus these are powerful reels. R.I.P Peadar Mercier ♪♫ ♥

  • @clarebannerman You said a lot there , clare , Tony is a genius.

  • Olwen Fouere is also a great actress.

  • I am in love...seriously...

    thanks for posting this..

    Laura from kansas

  • Joe Cooley was such a rarity that he could inspire the players around him to reach undreamed heights.Tony McMahon also has that power.I am referring to treading through the realm of genius

  • Powerful stuff. Love Mac Mahon's playing. I guess the clip is from the early 80's? ♪♫ 5*****
