Dear Academy awards just hand over the award to Meryl Streep. Once again she proves that she can have one great role after another. You didn't even get a glimpse of Meryl in this film all you saw was Margaret Thatcher. This movie is not about the political part it's about the human side of The Iron Lady and that there is always more than one side to every story. Politically I'm on the left. Regardless, I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this movie. I think if you can stop griping about the goddamn politics and see past that with which you disagree, you can see how much of an impressive and formidable woman she was. I am getting the DVD of this when it comes out, the movie was phenomenal and Meryl Streep... just wow. I am impressed with both her and Lady Thatcher. They were one in the same.
A true character made of steel and principles! Necessary steps Lady Thatcher had done were and will always be unpopular, but all the similar policy, no matter who makes it, is unpopular at all time. Many people do not want to hear the truth therefore they vote for left-wing liars, not characters like her. Her importance has no doubt. She has been one of those who defeated communism in the Eastern Block for which the people should applaud her.
And Meryl Streep was the best election for this role.
Thatcher was the one who took the ceiling off the bankers. The 80s was the decade where the City had its leash taken off and they could do whatever the fuck they liked. Just watched the movie with Meryll Streep, fascinating movie., I found the movie showed undertones of male chauvinism through her time in Office. An open question here, Was Britain ready for a female leader, or does this really matter? I thought it was sad that in the movie it shows conflict of being a leader and a mother that worked. Can a woman do both, or is this what happens when woman do both roles. Was it just me, or did the movie try to portray that a woman should not be in politics?
A Story of an AMAZING Woman... very similar to Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Kamla Persad Bissessar. She too broke through the gender and class barriers to be heard in a male dominated world. I hope someday that they will make a movie about her as well :)

Dear Academy awards just hand over the award to Meryl Streep. Once again she proves that she can have one great role after another. You didn't even get a glimpse of Meryl in this film all you saw was Margaret Thatcher. This movie is not about the political part it's about the human side of The Iron Lady and that there is always more than one side to every story. Yes she wasn't the best prime minister but she had a lot of cojones. I admire that about her. We need more strong women like Margaret.

I worked in the engineering industry in England during the 70s and early 80s and I think many would agree the trade union's power posturing in those days was setting the country on the road to ruin. A true character made of steel and principles! Necessary steps Lady Thatcher had done were and will always be unpopular, but all the similar policy, no matter who makes it, is unpopular at all time. Many people do not want to hear the truth therefore they vote for left-wing liars, not characters like her. Her importance has no doubt. The Belgrano was in the zone of where it could be targeted and the Admiralty thought she would come back round and attack West Falkland along with the other 2 argie ships near her, so she did the correct thing given the circumstances and the war was won!

Just watched the movie with Meryll Streep, fascinating movie., I found the movie showed undertones of male chauvinism through her time in Office. An open question here, Was Britain ready for a female leader, or does this really matter? I thought it was sad that in the movie it shows conflict of being a leader and a mother that worked. I simply look forward to Meryl Streep's acting and seeing a perspective of a woman who had to fight for her belief (whether it was agreeable or not) in a field that has been completely dominated by men. A great actress like Meryl Streep shouldn't be judged by what role she takes. Movies don't always make a person a hero, but rather tries to show different perspectives, and I think this movie is the same way.
