The 454 Diesel is made by General Motor Corp, The Fuel/Air mixture sent from the CARB enters the piston through a valve, which when the piston attached to the crank shaft reaches its apex, a spark which is sent from the distributor, then ignites the mixture and it is the expelled through the exhaust valve or valves. The firing order of the piston are usually mixted ex. 454 disel is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.

@jgod05 Are the spark plugs attached to the muffler bearings or the turn signal fluid? Diesels run off of compression. The only type of plug a diesel uses is a glow plug. They are only used for initial start up. It most definitely does not spark. Now how about you apologize to everybody else, Einstein...

No its not gas, its a Diesel, my Grandpa told me it was, and i beleive him. And Glow plugs are in Cummins 6BT diesels only, my Grandpa's truck is suped right up. He has a Holley 4 barrel carb, MSD ignition the whole shabang anyways we bought some sparkplugs -Champion part # - 9405 (I even know the part number so how could I be lieing) and it was a direct swap and now it runs much cleaner no black smoke comes out of the tailpipe. Thats why I suggested to this guy that he change his spark plugs.

The 454 Diesel is made by General Motor Corp, The Fuel/Air mixture sent from the CARB enters the piston through a valve, which when the piston attached to the crank shaft reaches its apex, a spark which is sent from the distributor, then ignites the mixture and it is the expelled through the exhaust valve or valves. The firing order of the piston are usually mixted ex. 454 disel is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.

@jgod05 Are the spark plugs attached to the muffler bearings or the turn signal fluid? Diesels run off of compression. The only type of plug a diesel uses is a glow plug. And my grandpa has a special program on his comp MADE BY CHAMPION SPARK PLUGS and it lets him look at sprak plugs for commercial use cause they are more heavy duty, because he is a real mechanic unlike you

@47American Oh i'm not a cummins fanboy, I dislike all diesels because they have alot of exhaust problems where they shit black smoke and their spark plugs are unreliable not to mention you always have to change the exhaust manifolds on them. I prefer the cleaner alternative, shitting gas coal, its the green thing to do. And if I want too look cool, I put seafoam in my vacuum lines and haul ass down the interstate. Its just like a diesel just white smoke and its funny watching people pull over.

Diesel motors do not use spark to run they use compression. Therefore no spark plugs but they do have glo plugs. The only need for glo plugs is when it is cold to ignite the diesel so you don't crank it for 3hrs to get it started. Cummins isn't the only diesel out there, there are many more. I suggest you research before looking stupid.

No its not gas, its a Diesel, my Grandpa told me it was, and i beleive him. And Glow plugs are in Cummins 6BT diesels only, my Grandpa's truck is suped right up. He has a Holley 4 barrel carb, MSD ignition the whole shabang anyways we bought some sparkplugs -Champion part # - 9405 (I even know the part number so how could I be lieing) and it was a direct swap and now it runs much cleaner no black smoke comes out of the tailpipe. Thats why I suggested to this guy that he change his spark plugs.

So why would he sell us plugs if that engine doesnt have any?Oh and not to mention, she fired right up after we changed em.
