  • because back in the day the kids were listening to glen miller and pat boone. they didnt even know bout the great original electric bluesmen.

  • check out my channel if you dig the blues

  • @BigCM06 and Dutchy 1965: I discovered him long ago (probably around 1986). Sadly though, he had already passed away then too. Would have loved to have seen him perform live. Wished he would still be amongst us now and surprise us with many more fantastic blues.

  • gotta get this album...if its the last thing...I ever do

  • FYI - This is not the original Cobra recording. This is good, but not great like the original.

  • There's something transcendent about this soaring vocal, set against a gray landscape of guitar and bass. The late great Magic Sam.

  • I only discovered Magic Sam this year. why did it take me so long? why did I have to wait until I heard some random track of his on my internet radio station? why isn't he more famous? this music blows me away.

god damn the man. why is the greatest music so obscure?

  • @BigCM06 yeah same thing happened to me too...sad really...I'm 46...been a Blues fan for 20 years and only found Magic this year - wasted 20 some years......Sam, Otis , Luther my favs

  • @BigCM06 because the music business and the media is run by rich white men

  • sublime sam!

  • A King!

  • Real name was Sam Maghett; when his prowess on guitar was discovered, someone turned his name around and called him Magic Sam. He was a master at minor key blues shadings, similar in that respect to Otis Rush. Those two, along with Luther Allison and Freddie King, were pioneers of the so-called West Side (Chicago) sound, which featured a more soulful, urban sound as opposed to the country-blues influenced and more popular South-Side sound.

  • from the lungs.............fantastic

  • It's okay....

I mean I'm not much of a blues person but this is amazing!
