Yeah but just because their were laws it doesn't mean they were obeyed. The colonial authorities would often go against what the Spanish Crown said. The King of Spain didn't approve of the colonists executing the Inca leaders, and what did the colonist do? Execute the Inca leaders, the exact opposite of what the King wanted. By Catholicizing the Natives they would be destroying their religions and philosophis and culture, which is cultural genocide. It happened violently, not peacefully.
