  • Gary with a telacaster ! must be a nod to Roy =)

  • Gary Moore- The man who got me into the blues and guitar.

Music is all a matter of subjectivity/opinion and since everyone here has stated thair opinion i may as well state my own: I think Gary Moore was far more versatile than Stevie (style wise), far more technical (when he chose to be), had far better melodic phrasing and milked bends, vibrato and sustain far more... but hey that's my opinion. Yours will likely be different

  • HOLY FUCK THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 2:15 thats the lick that albert king always plays in this song.few notes playing slowly that gives you chills to the bone.

  • the hell is that guitar? a fender?

  • @DYZSYX Fritz Bros guitar super deluxe model with EMG`s...

  • This one great artist dont ya know. Will always be in my mind so I guess he is not gone you are the best MR Gary Moore thanks

  • Peter Green > Gary Moore> SRV > Eric Clapton

  • Does it matter who is the best? They are both amazing and different.

  • I admit that Gary Moore isn't one of my favorites(overplays too often) but he hit this nail on the freakin head. There are so many great versions of this song from Elmore James, to Albert King to SRV and now I think I have to add this version to my list.

  • Who care's about being better. It all about expressing yourself right.

  • All these bullshit arguments comparing two of the greatest guitarists of all time. Both as brilliant as each other & so different it's impossible to compare the two.

Just enjoy both of these legends for fucks sake.

  • Gary is the best!!!!!!!!!!

    R.I.P

  • I want Moore!!!

  • Stevie WHO???

  • I hate the Yankees too!!! I am a Mets fan!!!! Anyway.....i think Gary flew under the radar of everyone in the USA in the 80's 90's.........and well until he passed......i have watche a few of the videos here....and am as big an SRV fan as anyone......and boy oh boy....Mr. Moore was the shit!!!!!!! I regret never being able to see him.......i heard he didn't tour the US often RIP Gary Moore, and I still got the blues over you!!!!

  • You and Roy Buchanan were the best in absolute.

  • Gary. Not everybody (yankees in particular) understood your immensity.

  • crowd sucks, everybody knows you got to clap and scream like a maniac after that solo

  • not even close to the SRV, but being not even close to SRV means you're the one of the greatest guitarists that walked the world, R.I.P. Gary

  • @immatypewholike2lite

    much better than srv

  • @Tripodesalomoni you must be deaf or something, I feel sorry for you

  • @immatypewholike2lite

you can check my other videos if you think i'm deaf. i don't feel sorry for you, i'm used to people like you. :)

  • @Tripodesalomoni SRV had a greater tone, better phrasing, better vibrato, better bends and was just overall a better blues guitarist than Moore. That's not to disrespect Moore, though. SRV is just my favourite blues guitarist, but Moore is definitely in the top 5.

  • @Merioc2k3

better vibrato? better bends? you have to be kidding... that was exactly moore's specialty. and nobody could match moore's tone during the years 90-95. nobody. and he could play all styles, not only blues.

  • @Tripodesalomoni Whatever, I just prefer his vibrato/bends over Moore's. But hey, that's opinion-based...

And SRV had a godly tone. Sure, Moore might have a great tone too, but I prefer SRV's. Again, just an opinion.

And I know he could play other styles, but since SRV wasn't very diverse in his music, I only compared their blues-playing.

I guess now that I think of it, they have different edges over eachother, but when it comes to blues, SRV is better.

  • @Tripodesalomoni SRV is much better than Gary Moore... Gary is still good, but not as good as SRV...

  • @Tripodesalomoni No. They was on the same level. I hate the yankees who put Stevie so much higher than Gary.

  • Right. We all know well that true bluesmen hates those guitarists who play the blues with too much speedness and Gary was at the top among the fastest. But he had also the heart to feel the blues. An heart full of soul.

  • @immatypewholike2lite & @Tripodesalomoni

Here we go again, the good ole´ Apples Vs. Oranges debate.

Why not just admit they're both legends and gods of musicianship? Gary and Stevie were both amazing blues guitar players, in their own ways. Gary was better at what he was doing, and so was Stevie in his own way. When it comes to phrasing, it's all about opinion and own taste.

  • the guitar is crying should be the name of the song

  • man this is one cool cat

  • legend still lives

  • Awesome!!!

  • First time to see him with a Fender telecaster

  • @Donegaldan I think this is not a Fender Telecaster, but a Fritz Brothers Guitar with three EMG pickups.

  • @Morumotty

Thanks to honest I have never heard of Fritz Bros.

  • Yep I too was very shocked to here that very very sad news about his passing . My uncle new I was a huge fan of his and read it in the paper and called to let me know and I still can't believe it !!! Damn and 58 years old sad day for the music world R.I.P. your music will live on forever !!!!

  • Gary you are not dead!!! Your music makes you LEGEND!

    we LOVE U! I can't believe it....

  • I love Gary Moore!!! He is an awesome guitarist, with mad skills, feeling, and totally bucket-o-blood blues emotional playing. A "King Of The Blues"!!!!!
