no mate - you need to get a graphics card in your laptop.

the specs above show it has integrated graphics. "intel gma x3100" it wont be powerful enough to run games like battlefield. look for a laptop with a graphics card such as a "nvidia 8400 or higher" then you should be able to play newish games properly. try ebay and search for a dell xps.

eh im sure it would. but there might be some problems getting the game to recognise a graphics card that doesnt exsist. in which case the game might not run

no you dont thats a lie. I play counter strike source on my laptop just fine with the intel x3100. Its very very playable. I have almost the same specs as winterfox xcept i got 3gb ram and a 200gb harddrive (4200rpm).... i get like 30-60fps in fy_iceworld_arena2 and like 20-30fps in dust2

Aww man, this runs so much smoother and with better graphics than it did on my desktop machine. Though it does give me hope that I can play it on the 1525 Im getting (2.0ghz C2D, 3GB RAM, x3100 chipset)

sketch, you have to remember that laptops with an ATi or nVidia GPU cost a lot more, if you want to game, then laptops are worthless as you can spend so much less and get a fantastic desktop

i'm having trouble believing this is the GMA 965 (X3100). my laptop has a T7300 Core 2 Duo and X3100 and I can BARELY play BF2142 on uber low settings 800x600 with 4 gigs of ram. I am running vista but the performance should not be significantly different on an older title like that.

mmm.. i think the vista drivers are not ready yet to support Vertex and Pixels shaders (needed to run this game). Try run the game in Windows XP Sp2 with the lastest drivers (you can found in the intel website).

I for one like the Intel X3100. intel says that within the first quarter of 2k8 they will be releasing drivers for this gfx card that ENABLES 4.0 Pixel Shaders. so imagine how good your games will run when THAT happens?

Do you think its worth it in a $500 laptop? with new driver updates the card gets better so far. so just becuase you run a game and it lagged doesnt mean it will always do so. BF2 is running fast, i would jack gfx up even more and top it out lol.
