  • I love the sound <3

  • My Kromhout M00 9hp is now for sale on EBAY

    item: 300403921641

  • You can just imagine it chugging up the cut.

  • How much fuel does this engine consume per hour? I bet these engines are very economic...

  • Wonderful engine with nice sound!

  • Great engine! So reliable! In good old times work had better quality.

  • im just wondering, what is that thing on the side of the engines, like the little handle turning in intervals, is it the fuel pump?

  • The handle is linked to the gear lever and puts the engine on tick over when the engine is in neutral. It wobbles like most of the engine when there is a firing pulse. In neutral the air damper is also closed to keep the hot-bulb warm.

  • I think he's talking about the crank handle on the lube pump. It's there so the engine can be pre-lubed before starting.

  • this engine is a masterpiece!!

  • Very nice engine!

  • when was this engine made ?thx

  • Amsterdam; the company also made trucks.

  • I think I dated this one about 1929.

  • what weight is this engine? what rotation? and what size and pitch prop did they run on royalty class boats? have you tried to airstart it yet? its a sweet old lump but where would you get bits?

  • I think it came in at a little under 2 tons 1.8 perhaps. It is a clockwise rotation so a right handed prop. The prop would be something like 27"x21". These engines like a big diameter and low pitch. A big blade area is preferable so something like a cloverleaf prop is best. Most parts can be sourced refurbed or made new if necessary. The air start it wasn't necessary it started so easily by hand in a boat you would kick it. I have sold this one now but have a 9hp that should be running any day!

  • nou nog een opduwertje om hem in te zetten!

  • It would actually run bunker "C" quite well, considering it's an oil engine.

  • Quieter than modern diesels!

Be good if they made these still for home generators, or a modern equivilent, does it use a lot of fuel in comparison to modern engines, suppose it probably will, but if it could burn bunker "C" thick heated fuel then that would be ok.

    Nice engine.

  • wonderfull especialy the sound!!! im proud of my daf 575 six cil as well, should hear her scream!!!!

  • As you say, all you need is a narrowboat built around it now!
