I have only briefly looked at Traktor 3. Traktor and Serato, while they perform many of the same functions, are really two separate beasts. Depending on what music your mixing and how you want to mix it, you can decide which one to go with. Unfortunately, I don't own Traktor, so I can only rely on what I've read and what people tell me about the program.
If I did have Traktor, I'd definitely do a series on it.
ok cool. i appreciate the honesty. awesome mixes man. hopeing to pick up some cdj900's in a few months. you think the slip playback feature is worth it? msrp is about the same as 1000 mk3's i think.
I haven't really looked at the CDJ-900s. Sorry. In terms of the 900 vs 1000, look at the features and decide which are more important to you. The 1000 probably wont' be going away any time soon.
@j0bzz yes with a basic midi controller u can assign these cues to midi and punch them out at will . Its very EeZy click midi up the top next to set up click your mouse to the cue point play icon u want to trigger hit your midi key or pad u want to trigger un till the drop down intructional menu turns green then click midi again to assign and your done ... now u can bang the cue points out without looking like your checking your emails so to speak.....
They are a great new feature. i haven't really done much with them myself, but I definitely plan to in the future.
Over the course of working on the last couple of episodes I realized that I needed to put a bit more energy into my presentation. Judging by your comment, I think I'm on the right track.

peter, are you familiar with traktor? with a basic midi controller, are there any staggering advantages to using either serato or traktor?
