  • What is the app you were using at the end of the video?

  • Your video is a favorite on East Timor (Timor

  • @thesavage042 U dont HAVE to use it with an existing network, Airport Express can create a new network :)

  • can i use this for my Xbox live. Like, my usual router is downstairs and i want to put the express upstairs and connect my Xbox to the express. will it work?

  • @kiyanp121 yes i think u can.

  • Can you help me nothing can find my express... I tried a desktop, iPad 2, and laptop...

  • Does it only play music in iTunes or can it send all the sounds coming from computer to speakers? Please help...

  • Should I use this or the time capsule as a main router??

  • can i play any sound like garage band, youtube, movies using airport express

  • i want to stream itunes without computer being on to different rooms and control with ipad how do i do this

  • if i have a linksys router can i make this an extender or does it have to be an airport extreme?

  • Can you do it for WIN 7?

  • Do I need a modem for this or can I use the express as wifi?

  • when mine is blinking orange it doesnt show up in the utilities section...what am i doing wrong?

  • Thank you!!!!!! You're my saviour!

  • Is it the same process when using Windows?

  • @quazi400 you need Internet service to use this

  • So you could plug this Airport express to the wall anywhere like a hotel or walmart or anywhere and you could get internet , plz answer question plz

  • my question is if i extend my wireless network with the airport can i plug like for example a ps3 to the ethernet port on the airport ,it will get a internet connection

  • @JustBecauseImAsian u can not use the ethernet port to give internet to your playstation 3. The ethernet only accepts incoming data, and then can transmit that data wirelessly. so you have to plug the wire from your modem or your router into the airport, and then it can transmit it wirelessly. so you ps3 can use the wireless connection. not the wired connection.

  • @JustBecauseImAsian yes you can. It even says it on the apple support site.

  • @JustBecauseImAsian

Yes you can, I did this a few years ago with my xbox360 before i got the dongle.

  • thanks!!

  • so internet is required to use this?

  • @sundevil57 no, u don't need internet

  • 'brushing my teeth, having a shower'...taking a shit...

  • Ah, yes there is; got the answer. Got to try!

  • Of course the thing itself is a router. AirTunes / AirPlay & printers are just a bonus.

Is there a way to stream from an iOS device yet?

  • So, the airport express connects to your router and it extends to the airport express to other devices? (i hope you understand it, i worded it wrong :P)

  • Can I use the Airport Express as a router?

  • @jaywongy no, it's a router extender.

  • @thesavage042 Wrong! It's a router

  • @MattJones1418 no its not a router, it is an extender. u can only use it with an existing network. routers allow both wired and wireless connections, airport express only allows some wireless connections. it is a bridge/extender.

  • @thesavage042 then whats the option "replace an existing base station or wireless router with AirPort Express" at 2:17

  • @thesavage042 it routes the connection to a wireless connection.... derrrrrpppp!

  • @MattJones1418 yeah yeah yeah i agree, its a router not a modem. it routes the (wired) connection of a modem to a wireless connection. but it also extends your (wireless) network if you need it to, as he is doing in this video. which basically just gives you airplay abilities, since you already have the wireless connection

  • @EmporerZulu so you are wrong... wooo hooooo!!!!

  • @thesavage042 bullshit, its also a router dumbass

  • @thesavage042 I travel with my Airport Express and use it as a wireless router in hotel rooms that don't have wireless internet. I am then able to use Skype on my iPhone through the wireless connection created by my Airport Express.

  • @thesavage042 its a wifi router and a wifi bridge so yes you can

  • @thesavage042 that's totally wrong, it can be used as a router, I have seen this done many times and have that setup in one of my flats.

  • @thesavage042 By the way, if you look at your own video at 2:15 you will clearly see it says "I want to create a new wireless network". What does that mean do you think?

  • @thesavage042 ITS STILL A ROUTER, it can give ip addresses out to clients!!!

  • @thesavage042 Ummm, yes it is a router. Before i switched to verizon fios, i used my airport express as a router

  • @thesavage042 Yes, it's a router. It has all of the proper DHCP and NAT protocols. It may not have multiple LAN ports, but that's not necessary for a router.

  • @MattJones1418 its just a router extender.. a very good one indeed

  • @jaywongy Sorry savage, but you are wrong but in a way correct. I personally have an airport express and to answer your question, YES it can be used as a router but you are better off getting an airport extreme or maybe even Timecapsule due to that the airport express can only have 10 clients. Anyways it can easily be used as a router and does a great job at it too. But I still would recommend a more powerful Apple router or another brand of router such as linksys or Dyenx.

  • very very good!!! my friend the air tunes works with a pc?? I have an HP laptop!!!! and also i have i tunes, and i want to buy an airport expres, does it works with????? thanks!!! very good video!!!!

  • Hi... Would the Airport Express extend your regular WIFI from another room? (not routed by the Airport Extreme Base Station.)

  • 4:09 is it a toilette ???

  • Question. can you use airtunes to play ALL the sounds from your macbook. i.e youtube/last fm

  • I'd rather buy a Bluetooth speaker dock with a remote and control my music from the shower or the toilet.

  • can i use the airport express to extend the range of a cisco e3000, or is it only capable of extending the range of the airport extreme??? PLEASE REPLY

    Thanks!!

  • Why can't my airport utility find my express? I am plugged in 1 foot away from my computer. I have reset the express. It's blinking amber. But, when I open up airport utility, it does not acknowledge/find the express.....I am trying to extend of my airport extreme.

  • AMAZING VDO

  • Awesome. Thanks for sharing!

  • @AZ100x 10 devices

  • does the airport express allow you to have wi-fi anywhere (when you plug it in)? Do you need anything else for airport express, or will it work anywhere?

  • @LiamVander if by anywhere you mean anywhere in your "wifi range", then yes, it works anywhere

  • Guys, is it possible to hook up a PC to the Airport Express network? I already have it sat up to my macbook so can i hook it up to a pc if i download the utility disk on the pc? please reply!

  • @GcMaRtinii Yes, this is possible. The airport express just provides a wireless signal, so by connecting to the internet on your pc, the airport express is doing its job.

  • @morris1021 Wow. No-duh. I'm so stupid -.- Thank you very much (:!

  • Great Video!! Thanks for the instructions. This made my setup really easy!! Maybe add the remote app info for the IPhone and IPod Touch.

  • When I plug my airport express in to a adapter the orange light starts blinking which is normal, then I open up airport utility and the airport express doesnt show up i tried updating airport utility and that didnt work PLEASE HELP!!!

  • @Firas997 Your Airport-Express might be to far from your Mac. Other than that bud, you might have a defective adapter; in this case you'd have to bring it to your local Apple store and talk to an expert about this problem. Hope this helps (:!

  • Is it possible to stream music directly from your iphone to the speakers connected via airport express?

  • @GetToDaChoppa92 now it is with airplay

  • i always get a error (-15006) error,, can you help me plz, i have been stuck for days now.

  • hey can i do the exact same thing u did, but my home network is a linksys WRT106Nv3... any advice or help?

  • Thanks, great video.

  • speakers on the toilet #FTW Thumbs up!!!!!

  • So i have a question, i have my airport plugged into power and it is not recognized by my airport utility. my computer has all the necessary equipment. when it is plugged into my computer via ethernet it can see it but the second that it is disconnected, it vanishes and cannot be viewed. help?

  • @Fullthrottlerev that is weird..try unplugging the airport express for a couple minutes, restart your computer. plug the express back in and then see if it shows up. if anything call apple

  • @thesavage042

can you use the airport express to connect to a wireless network and then use the ethernet plug to relay internet to an xbox 360?

  • @thesavage042 Say if you have a linksys wireless g router instead of the Airport Extreme you have. When the airport express extends that network will it convert it to wireless n?

  • @MegaMBowers i dont think so..i am not a networking expert, but i do know that your wireless connection is only as fast as the slowest device on the network..so if you have a G router I am assuming you will only get G speeds.

  • my airport express is old. only supports up to 802.11g. it sucks.

  • Great guide.

  • Thank you for the good Guide. It helped me much

  • Good guide!

  • Looks like my old iPod 3rd gen charger!

  • so i have a couple questions :

I have wired internet at home. if i buy this and try to use it. will i have to use a modem plug or will i be able to just have wifi. also. they say its portable. so does that mean areas you take it to must have wireless internet for it to work?

  • @Nicky41205 all it does it take a current wireless network and extend the range of it. so there has to already be an existing wireless network. you plug in the airport, no wires needed, open airport utility, and configure it to join and extend the current wireless network. this DOES NOT magically give u internet access anywhere u go.

  • @thesavage042 You should also be able to use this to create a wireless network, it does not only extend your current network's range. At 2:14 you can see that it is asking you what you want to do with this.

  • @co89918 yes u can create a new wireless network, but you must have an existing internet connection.

  • @thesavage042 It is clear that you must already have an existing internet connection. Your response to Nicky says it only makes a current wireless network and extend its range. There does NOT have to be an existing wireless network for this to work. When traveling with this, you can connect to someone's wired network, like a hotel, by connecting an ethernet cable to the Airport Express from their access point.

  • I have a linksys router, and I have very poor signal to my playstation 3, and I can't play online! Do you think this device can resolve my problem, is it worth buying? Thanks! And nice vid by the way :)

  • @Rorschach2Kill well it might help by extending your signal further..if you have an apple store close to you, try it..if it doesnt work you can return it. best buy also sells extenders for about the same price.

  • Dosent that give you wifi once you set it up so you just connect it and it gives you wifi?

  • can i plug a 5 in 1 usb adapter into the airport express so i can add an external hardrive and a printer

  • @Keith4594Vlogs no harddrives, just printers for the airport express...

  • Great vid! Thanks!

  • is it the save effect like i put speakers in the 3,5mm slot? youtube videos, systemsounds, everything over the air port? or just itunes?

  • @MediSpring just itunes.

  • nice ffw effect man.. no boring like the other review videos!!

  • nice ffw effect man.. no boring

  • mine was blinking amber, but my mac wasn't recognizing it?

  • @Genralyawsome Maye sure you install the software on the CD first, that should sort it.

  • omg its only got a 3.5mm jack for connecting to the hi-fi??? wheres the optical output???

  • @simon3102000 It's also optical, it's a combined jack. You can get adapters that let you hook it up via a TOS-LINK cable or something.

  • This was so helpful. Why do you think my airtues skips and stops every 30 seconds?

  • This was so helpful.

  • This was so helpful

  • what happes if you click i want to create a new wireless network do you get free internet then ???

  • @19main89 lol no, you have to have an internet connection

  • I only have cables at home (no WiFi) so do I need to have another router already and can I just plug it into an ethernet cable (and power) and I will have WiFi? Also, does your computer need to be opened when you play music with the remote app. from your iTouch? Thanks for answering my questions, nice video by the way.

  • @Jodito20 plug an ethernet into the airport, set it up and then you have a wireless connection. its common sence that the pc must be turned on, as it has the music and if it is turned off it cant play it =].

  • After a hour of trouble shooting I finally got it to work. Thanks

  • Do you have to connect it to another router? Can you plug it anywhere and get WiFi on your iPod Touch without needing a computer?

  • @laptop504 you need a computer to set it up, and u need an internet connection to connect it to.

  • @thesavage042 Do you have to set it up everytime you connect it to the internet? Do you need to connect it to a router?

  • @thesavage042 lol dumb questions

  • @laptop504 u dont have to connect it directly to a router, but u need to have it connected to a network. and you dont have to set it up every time, as long as it is on the same network you set it up on.

  • Why havent you connected any ethernet cable to airport, for setting it up, i thought its required?

  • @pragyaraptor it sis not required...this is how you set up the airport express...it connects to your network wirelessly.

  • I've watch over 10 Airport Express Setup videos, and I have to agree with (SBha30). This is by far the best video setup! Good Job Guy!

  • @kchaney9735 thank you, i really appreciate that.

  • Really nice video. Thanks a lot.

  • In my opinion, this is the best description of how to setup an airport express on YouTube. LIKE!

  • @SBha30 thank you so much

  • Would you be able to use this in addition to Steam for Mac?

  • Comment removed

  • does AirTunes only works with iTunes?? what about the entire audio of the macbook??

  • @mrgamertag it only works with iTunes

  • @mrgamertag it only works with itunes, but you can get a seperate program called airfoil and you can transmit sound from any application that is running on your comuter, there is just going to be more of a delay.

  • Exaktly what I was looking for!

  • Could I use this to extend my existing network and also use it to have a wired connection to my PS3 at the same time?

  • @TCHSbulldogs08 u can use it to extend your network..but you cannot use it as a wired network for ur ps3.

  • Hello Sir,

I have a Wireless Network in my home and I'm planning to buy a MacBook Pro.

So do I have to buy and AirPort Express/Extreme to connect to my home network?

  • @TheAppleChannelTV no your macbook should work just fine with your existing wireless network.

  • when setting up your airport express do you need any cables or do you just plug it in and set it up also is there a max of internet time you can use and does it cost extra money each month to pay for the internet

  • @gracebauer1234 you do NOT need to plug an ethernet cable into it

  • can you stream movies?

  • will airtunes work if i put in a dvd in my mac or does it only work with itunes?

  • will airtunes work if i put in a dvd in my mac or does it only work with itunes?

  • awsome job

  • so when its flashing green that means u can use an itouch to get wifi or something like that?

  • @topgearmad1 thanks man. glad i could help.

  • great explanation!!!!! couldnt have done it without this vid

    thanks!!!

  • @juandabs4 im glad it helped you! thank you!

  • if i had speakers in my bathroom she'll think im waking with sexbomb on.

  • Thanks a lot for the video. It helped me figure this out super easy!

  • great with Mac a disaster with windows keeps crashing or cant set up

  • bad ass, though it looked like it took place in a bathroom.. bravo. isnt apple just magnificent?

  • im debating between the airport extreme and express...hows the express

fast? can multiple (say 3) computers get on at one time?

    -scoooter

  • up to 10 people can be on it..i have not had any slow down at all while streaming music.

  • @thesavage042 do you need to plug an ethernet cable into the airport express? every video i have seen but yours, everyone is plugging in an ethernet or dsl cable

  • So wait can you use the airport express as like a access point?

  • yup

  • Cool video. I have the original model but always had problems keeping it online w/ secured network. Looks like this works better.

  • cool. wonder if anything like this is for pc
