  • I was rambling around Canada when I was 16 or so,loved Murray and the Silver Tractors, was living in Edmonton '73,they were huge back than..

  • This song means so much and Thanks.

  • Hello only you can sound "wonderful " singing this song mr M :)

  • Around 1975-76 OECA (now called TVOntario) showed a program on Murray M. My memory may be way off on this, but as I remember it, it had 6 or more songs, mostly from Sweeping The Spotlight Away, and I don't recall Murray singing or playing guitar on camera, just at times being in scenes that reflected the content of the song. One I remember is him walking in front of a wall of wrecked cars while Takin' My Leave is playing. Does this ring a bell with anybody? They repeated this show many times.

  • the audience seems to holding back ,I am from the Maritimes ,i wish I was there ,sing loud and show proud ,he is great

  • Ya, i heard. I think he'll be performing at the Bronson Centre

  • Did you guys hear, he is coming to Ottawa November 20th. It's been a while since I have seen him back in Ottawa.

  • Jeez Murray....where you been hiding? Good to see him again. :)

  • Thanks for posting as that Murray Mclauchlan was the first concert I worked without any help in about 1981 or 92.

I was just wondering if anyone knew the name of the song he did for Ron Sakamoto. It was about the Asians that were moved to Alberta during WWII.

  • I'm German and I don't care who won the war but I love Murray McLauchlan's songs. Why not just ignore haters like him, who know nothing about music?

  • @weisserstein

    You're right buddy! Love you!

  • This song is still on the jukebox at the Kaladar Ho-tel as AA-11 in Ontario Canada logging area.

Bartend says its been worn out 50 times (now on CD) and Murray is the most often played song on that jukebox to this day.

  • Awesome! Love the song and the man! Thanks so much for posting this!!!

  • Ahh love Murray. Tnx much for posting this
