I was there fifth row .This was simply amazing ! Paul was a real showstopper ! But when Petrucci hit the stage everyone in attendance charged the stage .
people who joke like that ought to be the ones who die. Your crap spelling also lends to the fact how stupid you must be to find this sorta thing funny.
Gilbert was alot better than Petrucci. Petrucci really doesn't do much live, he just stands in the front and plays. (At least with G3, I've never seen DT live.)
Ahahahah! "Petrucci really doesn't do much live, he just stands in the front and plays."
AMAZING how people do that at MUSIC CONCERTS. I mean, wtf? They play music?
Music has nothing to do with looking fancy on stage. Petrucci's music was better than Gilberts. Gilbert PLAYS incredibly well. But Petrucci write such good music.
ya i like Petrucci only when go slow, and yes he use too much cromatic scale... P.S. Technically i think Paul Gilbert is the best and with that fingers he could do enything...
I don't like petrucci's guitar playing really, he bases it alot around chromatics which can sometimes sound good, but it's never as melodic as I personally would like to listen to
i agree, although it's hard to tell who's faster, petrucci drenches his tone in gain and for a large part stays boxed in the jams, where you see gilbert and satch fly across the entire range of their guitars. gilbert seems to be a lot more versatile in his playing and adventurous, this song just shows it.
no?, why not just see how far outside the box petrucci goes when he improvises. as for his tone, his latest guitar world interview he admits that he uses a shitload of gain. i still htink he's great, but i think satch is way better.
Lets see. Paul Gilbert uses the same lick over and over in different areas of the fret board, going up or down diatonically. Who cares if he uses a shit load of gain? Does that make him crap at improvising? He's still one of the cleanest players out there.
I love all three of them but saying stuff like that is stupid.
i'm saying i prefer gilbert over petrucci, who is most often seen doing the chromatic lines in a single position. i agree with him being one of the cleanest players. never said any of them were crap at improvising. cause obviously they're the shit. but between him and petruci,i see gilbert making most use of his neck when he does improvise
I couldn't believe what I was hearing when I heard him in DC on 4/13, and he was playing like he was saying "GET OUT OF MY YARD BEFORE I CALL THE COPS ON YOU!!!" It was kind of a smaller theater, so he was using his combos, but once the Jam started, he used his stack :P. Amazing!!!
I saw G3 in Boston on 4/6. I was there to see Paul and Bruce anyways, but I gotta tell ya there were a lot of kids who didn't know who Paul was, but by the end of the night they were true believers! Paul and Bruce totally stole the show!
I was at the show in Montreal and it was awesome!!! those guys areso amazing to see!!! but I remember if I'm not mistaken Paul Gilbert playing a very good song... I think it was called Spaceship One or something like that... can someone correct me if I'm wrong because I can't find the song anywhere and I really want it!!!
i was at the Montreal show too dude.. yeah he played spaceship one; try searching "space ship one" you should get it off a torrent site; its from an album of that same title.
i was less than 10 feet away from him when he was playing that :D

I went to the show in Berkeley, but this anal bitch stopped me and took her time checking my backback.
I just started giving that lady shit as i heard paul play Goomy from the outside of the theater...
Kinda ironic, cause i did a cover on the intro of that song...
