  • she's in my top five I want to have.

  • I love her smile! She is gorgeous!

    :)

  • Lauren had that "classic" beauty you see back in the 1950's --- sleek, seductive and just simply gorgeous!

  • She is so so so hot and sexy!!

  • Looks like Daly really enjoyed those conferences.

  • Damn she's hot.

  • she looks like ava gardner

  • I've seen a few wml mystery challengers but I've never seen John Daly act the way he did with Lauren. She had that affect on people :D

  • Elegance.Class.Style.

I'm talking about the entire show.

  • Damn, sex appeal just oozes out of her pores!

  • every time she does that lil wiggle i get a stiffy

  • Classy

  • WOWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

  • i love the way she says "mhmmm!" when he asks if she's married

  • A stunning beauty.

  • What a beauty she is. And funny too :)

  • ouii :)

  • "sign in please!" iconic

  • I love her voice! I saw a couple of her movies for the first time last week and the week before. Dark Passage and Designing Woman. She's a great actress and she has one of those silky husky voices fit for a classic femme fatale. And she's pretty :)

  • I love John's "yeah..." when Dorothy asks if she's a glamour girl. :D

  • What a total Babe!! Sexy, sexcy, classy, sexy. Wolfsky9

  • she's like a kitty!! Soo cute! love her!!

  • @DoraChania: Heehee. Love her, she's like a smart cat turned human. Love how the host was so tickled by her presence. "Yeaaah." "Small conference, awfully sorry." LOL!!!

  • Loren Bacall is the most beautiful woman to walk the face of this earth.

  • love, love, love, LOVE lauren<3

  • I think Daly liked the conferences LOL

  • @batbreath77 Ya I was going to say that too.:)

  • Her body language just oozes glamour.

  • love it!

  • she looks like she could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch .

  • ooooh! i love her handwriting :)

  • skip at 2:46 also

  • Lol she's funny. :)

  • still alive too

  • She was so gorgeous. She is still with us, and her eyes should be more famous than bette davis' eyes

  • Looks like the file got damaged again - the question about dogs is no longer heard.

  • How To Marry A Millionaire was released in 1953.

  • Anyone know what year this is?

  • To the person who commented on how she must have hated her husky voice...her voice isn't natural, it came as a result of the studio telling her that her naturally high, squeaky voice wasn't appealing. So she trained herself to use the husky voice we know now. Bogie did the same, actually - the voice we know wasn't his natural voice, either, but he needed to deepen it to sound more "manly" and tough. The two have a vocal chord disorder named after them as a result, actually!

  • Why is that one guy asking like 100 questions? About Technicolor and all?

I love her so much! I need to see more of her films

  • @ZZTopRockman Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I can tell, they get to keep asking until they get one wrong. :)

  • Jesus Christ... she was ubenlieveble... amazing beautifull...

  • she's so fun and graceful!

  • dam shes fine

  • what. a. fox.

  • Johns loving those "small conferences" lol

  • damn. at 2:47 we lose some footage here, a steve allen one liner lost forever. we'll never know.

  • She has such a beautiful energetic smile:)

  • I love this lady. Simply gorgeous and talented.

  • Even the ground under this lady sizzles!

  • Lauren Bacall is the epitome of the old school, classy, sophisticated entertainment industry. Such a fabulous class act!

  • Not to mention that here she moves her neck and shoulder in an unbelievably sensual way. Modern plasticoid botoxed celebrities move like robots by comparison.

  • @pepsibookcat yeah but classy dames don't usually cheat on Bogart with Sinatra on the side.

  • @Pam4Rob Shortly after Bogart's death in 1957, Bacall had a relationship with singer and actor Frank Sinatra.

  • @Pam4Rob It was not until after Bogart had died that Bacall had a relationship with Sinatra.

  • @PlayIt4MeAgainSam - I'm sorry isn't that what I just said?? lol

  • @Pam4Rob, you're right! my mistake...I was getting use to the 'new' layout, & now the 'new, new' layout...no disrespect intended! ;-)

  • @PlayIt4MeAgainSam And he tragically dumped her. He was temperamental.

  • @Pam4Rob What goes around comes around. Sinatra ended up dumping her.

  • Lauren Bacall is drop dead gorgeous.. and so very intelligent looking!

  • @WeeWyllie Truly a beauty.

  • wow! shes so amazing! way hotter than a person name monroe...

  • @arlichar11 Not "hotter"...just a different type is all from Monroe.

  • Mr. Daly had a great job!!!

  • didn't he. so cool ;p

  • A very lovely lady...and a very talented actress. She obviously had a great sense of humor, even in regards to herself. Loved her husky voice. And loved watching her appearnce on the show....she was certainly the best thing that ever happened to Humphrey Bogart. I've read her autobiographies. Vastly entertaining. THANK YOU for posting this! :)

  • LOL She called him SHADY! That made me laugh.

    Bacall is so charming!

  • It must have been difficult for her to shake Dorothy Kilgallen's hand, a vicious gossip and arch-enemy of Bogart. It must go back to the McCarthy hearings, as I do remember reading that Kilgallen, Joseph Cotten and a few others were snitches.

  • So beautiful!!

  • she looks so lovely here!!!

    HAHAH I love 'you'll do"

  • Drop Dead sexy, when I 1st saw her in 2 have & have not. What a Babe!! Wolfsky9

  • Seriously? This is STEVE Allen. Different man and much younger. No wonder you think he looks different!

  • Ahh, Slim. Beautiful graceful sexy smart Slim. Married Bogey when you were just a teen, from cover girl to silver screen, raised with supreme sophistication by a nice Jewish family who gave Bogey their blessing. More class a woman has the older the hubby it seems. You want me, just whistle. You know how to whistle, don't you? Just pucker and blow. Best line ever! Bogey and Bacall, it doesnt get any better than that!

  • @eheaven3 Don't know if thats always true about class and the older husband. But you're certainly entitled to your opinion.

  • She had a great look especially beautiful in her early 1940's films. Very unique and good actress.

  • yeah man--Old Boggy had an EYE- this is one lushous Hammer- sixes over tens Baby

  • What a siren! Amazing she was only even nominated once, for 'The Mirror Has Two Faces', and probably lost only because Streisand is so disliked for some reason. Jealousy is so transparent.

  • She is receiving a special Oscar this November. Well deserved.

  • She stole "How To Marry a Millionaire" right from under the noses of Grable and Monroe.

  • I thought Marilyn made quite an effective impression in that movvie.

  • Haven't seen or heard from her lately---wonder how she is.

  • Lauren is so beautiful. She was sexiest in "The Big Sleep" but her best acting was in "Key Largo".

  • Just gorgeous in that movie.

  • @tonemenolc Lauren was incredibly beautiful in the 40's.

  • omg i love the way she writes!

  • she's one of my favorite actresses.

  • What year is this?

  • November 8, 1953.

  • The one shoulder gown is gorgeous!

  • Like how Daly always made sure to use such proper English. Not sure if he'd be hip enough to be on TV today, but thats the way it was back then.

  • This is what True, Classic, Classy Beauty is....

man, she just kills me. prrrrrrrr........

  • she's beautiful <3

  • Definitely a True Lady.

Keep going, Lauren (she's 84 now).

  • She's 84 and has won no oscar... Such a shame!!!!

  • I would say "To have and have not" :) But it's just a matter of taste, you won't agree with that :)

  • Maybe you're right...

Bacall was a lot younger than he was wasn't she?

  • 25 years

  • must be genetics!

Her cousin Shimon Peres just turned 86, also was a heavy smoker for years, and is still a very active president of a country :-)

  • I think it's because women live longer...LOL

  • Interesting comment. had an extremely intersting unique beauty though.

  • Holy shit, she is so physically magnificent.

  • Oh my god she is soooo beautiful. Old age sucks!!!!!! She would put angelina and Beyonce to shame if she was still in her prime.

  • Hahaha, so cute... ^_^

  • Oh, she was so beautiful. And what a voice!

  • ha ha she has like one of the most recognizable voices ever. The first time she answere the question she diguised her voice well but the second question and after, you could hear her real voice well. lol. "small conference awfully sorry" lol.

  • Great show, from an another Era.

  • the best part of this show is, as always, Mr Daly lol

  • I've always'd loved her. And she's always been beautiful, even in her old age. I saw footage of her at some Obama thing. Still looked pretty good. And that voice is killer. Anyone remember her in 'Mirror with two faces' I thing she was nominated for an oscar. Am I right?

  • This is so funny. Love her.

  • I love when they ask if Bogie was strong and she stops to think

  • He just loving her

  • I bet John loved those conferences.

  • so classy sassy and sophisticated i've always admired her

  • he luvs those conferences!lol.

  • How elegant is this woman???

  • so classy that she deserves that rhetorical question! seriously, she is one sophisticated lady, yet not a snob or at all boring. so coquettish. i love it.

  • LOVE it!

"Are you what would be called a 'glamour girl?'"

    "Yeahhhh!"

*one sexy eyebrow raised and a coquettish smile*

  • Lauren is fabulous!

  • One whisper of that husky voice and youre a dead duck. She didnt look pleased. As competitive and vain as these actors are, she probably hated her husky voice.

  • hahaha, she was like, "Oh, damn! And I thought I disguised my voice pretty well!"

i thought she did well. i could hear some of her real voice through the french, but being able to see her had a lot to do with it. :) i love this dame. she's so classy. i want to write to her and tell her how much i loved her books and her films.

  • Well said. She was classy AND a dame at the same time!! Wish we got to hear more of her actual voice before the interview ended; the french lilt was smashing!!

  • her voice is so cool- and smooth :)

  • Bogie was one lucky bastard!

  • I know I sound like an old curmudgeon (at 36!) but these WML videos truly do show how much more talented, dashing, well-spoken and witty celebrities were back in these days. I saw a lot of them, and then watched a few Letterman interviews; & the modern celebs just seemed so tongue-tied, sloppy, and shallow compared to the celebrities showcased on WML. I mean, I like Kirsten Dunst as much as the next guy, but compared to Lauren Bacall's star power she's just some dopey chick at the mall.

  • Not at all, im in my twenties and i still think that the stars from back in the day had way more talent than the stars of today do. Both in the arenas of music, movies and comedy.

Did Abbot and Costello, Jerry Lewis or any of the acts back in the day have to swear to get laughs? and they are still funny watching it now.

  • DITTO (21)

  • Ditto to luciengrey24, gottamatch& queenjess99. I'm 19, and a fan of them for a couple of years now -- and I think I always will be :D

    &Lauren is absolutely Amazing.

  • So do I, and I'm in the middle of my teens. :)

  • DITTO (18)

  • very true...but remember, the studios put alot of money into into their stars...unlike today, when actors are all independent

but bacall was always pure class

  • love her a true legend and a star! you'll do!lol how can you not love lauren she's funny talented as talented as her husband legend hb was xoxo

  • Does anyone out there in youtube land know? Betty and Bogie had three dogs does anyone know there names?

  • "Baby" (named after Betty), "George" and "Harvey" are the names of their three dogs. Hope this helps..

  • Lets put it this way..does mr. Daly do that to all his female guests. Were people whistleing when he stepped over the line..yes..watch it again..did he take advantage of the moment to paw her.I think so..Would I have done the same thing?...Well yes..I am only human..but with a little more class...How could anyone sit next to her and not go bananas.I just wonder what steve said that was so funny they had to edit it out.and only show Betty laughing. Does anyone out there in youtube land know?

  • I like the part when Mr. Daly says "Its been a wonder pleasure having you" Your damm right its been wonderfull rubbing his face all over hers and shoveing his nose in her hair. Who knows what else he was doing under the table. I think Betty was more than nice to put up with old perv.

  • You mean Lauren? It's not like he was Richard Dawson and kissing her.

  • You'll do. Ha!

  • hubba hubba

  • oh, thank you! i adore lauren bacall.
