  • Where Can I Find the integrated dash kit?

  • Where did you order all that?

  • Thanks this really helps a lot. But, I was wondering where you got the silver piece, that fit around the radio. I'm new to cars so I don't know what it's called. Thank you.

  • Very nice video. Thank you for taking the time to make this.

  • where i can get the radio kit do you know the page where i can buy

  • yaris 2008 need radio frame kit how can i order it

  • Thanks a lot.. I own a 2007 Yaris.. thanks to you I could replace my old stereo...

  • @hbrito - Thanks, when I did this I wondered if it was worth the effort. I'm glad it helped.

  • @rldel149 I've got a question, I can't tune any AM radio stations, FM works perfect, do you have any ideas where that is? I want to check if it might be unplugged or something...

  • @adolfohoudini - no idea less it be a bad radio. It only has one antenna, I'm assuming it is plugged in well.

  • definitely helpful for me..

  • @ashleyzyra - well very nice. I was doing mine and thought maybe, just maybe, it would help someone some day. There isn't really much to it.

  • Thank You, your video helped me so much to install my new radio in my Yaris.

  • @SpaceAlex - glad it was helpful. It can be a tad intimidating tearing a car apart sometimes.

  • @porkerpig89 There are two types of radios they put in over here. The one like I pulled is called an integrated radio. It can run iPods, CD changers and sat radio. The trim is built-in to the flipping thing (I believe) to encourage people to keep it and buy more Toyota add-ins. I think they wanted like $100 to 150 bucks just for an iPod cable.

I've gotten about 26,000 miles on it now and am sticking to about 39 mpg running highway speeds and the A/C.

  • omg thanx for that vid and showing how to install it thanx : ) love journey lol

  • @xxxxxxLCxxxxx

Thanks, we just put a Kenwood KDC-HD545U in the car my son drives. Sounds good and not a bad price, HDR, CD, iPod, front USB & AUX, AAC/MP3/WMA, removable face, through-the-face-CD, remote and will do BT and SAT as options.

  • Great Vid. Thought id ask here if anyone knows if head units these days have a loom that accepts steering wheel controls? I have a 2008 Yaris, i want to relace the entire audio system but would like to keep steering wheel controls as its all i use, become very fond of them ;)

  • I have an older Camry w/wheel controls & the Sony unit required a separate module & harness. It is too cramped behind the dash.

This Kenwood likewise shows wheel controls, changer, sat radio and bluetooth as I recall when paired with appropriate Kenwood changer & sat reciever kits.

A thing I do recommend & I alluded to it in the video, bits included directly into the radio/head unit itself, the more room there will be available to fit something like wheel controls & other harnesses.

  • Thanks for the reply. So it seems steering wheel controls are not rare for newer head units.

  • Not as much anymore and they are getting better but as I understand it, all are not created equal.

  • where did you order your dash from? i'm having a real hard time finding.

  • Olathe Toyota in Kansas

  • Very good job explaining, thanks!

  • ..like the handle... Is that like "and a beer chaser" eh?

  • Hello,

    great vid.

    But i have got a 2006 Yaris.

Is there ANY way to get a Din radio in my car?

The volume adjustment and some other buttons are on the left and right side next to the radio.

I hope you understand what i mean...if not, just look at a cockpit picture of a 2006 Yaris....

--> it seems to be impossible )-:

  • I don't know the specifics of the model - sorry.

  • Awesome! You made it look way easy! Thanks again for the video. ps- What was the music or the artist on the CD when you first started it up and also an the Aux channel?

  • Thanks, The White Stripes "Catch Hell Blues".

I'm thinking about showing some of the radio's features. It's hard to get started w/but once you do, it really has some powerful features w/more sound & display options you could ask for.

The hardest part of most installs is finding room for all of the boxes & a place to mount them behind the dash. This was an all in one except for the Sirrius which I may never add. And between an iPod interface & mp3 disk there isn't much need.

  • They have to save labor these days. It is sort of surprising you only need a screwdriver to swap a radio.

  • A good "How to" film. I did not realize how many parts one could just remove from a panel of a auto. Thank you
