@buttascotchbro1 I totally believe you but was he and Mike supposed to duet on BAD (Who's Bad)? if that was true, PRINCE lowered his own standards as he was all about Shock back then and a little line should have never been even a worry for him, as he had women kissing women in his videos and all types of suggestive stuff so this should have been like water for him ........he was just acting arrogant towards Michael because he knew Michael was way BIGGER sorry I had to put that out there.

Michael may have been the bigger star but that does not mean Prince should have been his b--ch which is what that song would have made him look like if he had done it with Michael

Wow Taja had a much stronger voice than Vanity. She had the looks but the music Biz was going threw some changes when her album came out.Black Radio was changing and White pop was also going threw some changes.That was about the time clear channel was taking over the airwaves and had a strangle hold on what was being played

I am glad Michael turned this down, its too soft and says "Wouldn't You Like To Love Me" it would have not worked on the BAD album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!! Michael did the right thing, no disrespect to Prince though. He could have offered the KING something better than this though for that project.............is that why PRINCE had been giving Michael the cold shoulder back then???

Er . . . This wasn't offered to MJ for BAD. This had already been released in 1988, or maybe 1987. And Prince POLITELY turned down MJ's offer to duet on BAD, telling Quincy Jones that hat the song "would be a hit without (him) on it". But he didn't offer MJ this song. Taja had already released it under Prince's Paisley Park label.

This song goes back to 1976, and was occasionally updated though the years. MJ started working on BAD in 1986. This is when Prince submitted the song to Mike. BAD was released in August '87. Taja's album was released in September '87.

Jazzy R&B works (and worked) in the UK and Asian markets, not the US. This worked in the "smooth jazz" markets, and would work in clubs with the right remix. Trackwise, the bass is the "star of the show". It's even upstaging Taja :-) The kick drum is a "bounce inhibitor", though. They should have just repeated the pattern from the first measure, throughout the entire tune. The bass player is the one setting up the groove, so I'm betting that he knows exactly what I'm talkin' about :-)

I love this lady, I have a CD from one of her albums and its great......especially the track called "I and I"..........this song is amazing!!!! I had the 45 of this that is how I got this song here. I may still have it in my collection somewhere. a DJ took off with all my good 12inch singles.
