On Anacostia Island,bears,deer and other animals were imported for hunting.Years later,the bears were gone NOT because of hunting as might be assumed. The DEER ate up all the vegetation which the bears also eat which caused them to die off of starvation. That's the only case that I know of where a prey animals ate a predator population out of existance in a closed habitat.

On Anacostia Island,bears,deer and other animals were imported for hunting.Years later,the bears were gone NOT because of hunting as might be assumed. The DEER ate up all the vegetation which the bears also eat which caused them to die off of starvation. That's the only case that I know of where a prey animals ate a predator population out of existance in a closed habitat.
