Cheap tactic: Ask three difficult questions, then interrupt to take issue with part of the response to one part of one, in order to bring up three more difficult, questions, then interrupt to take issue with one part of one of those, in order to... ... ... it's to give the IMPRESSION the interviewee is not in command of the facts.
For an audience that's looking for impressions vs. facts, it's the way to keep 'em entertained vs. keep 'em informed. Then, show ads for shiny toys Made in China..
