  • The KING #1 FOR EVER

  • This and a bridge over trouble water are two of my favorite songs he did at this time. He had a gruling schedule of two shows a night, for weeks. Kind of makes some of the heavy hitters in vegas performing now with all their pomp and circumstances, time off and hundreds of dollars for the pleasure of thier company look like pansy's don't it?

  • I've got a problem!!!! I could put every video on my favorites. Maybe one foe the 50's, one for the 60's and one for the 70's. Am i obsessed or what? I love other singers BUT I adore his voice, his looks and everything about him. WOW!!!! I never look at other videos, just ELVIS!!!

  • I cannot beleive this is live! Nobody today sounds so great, even recorded! God Bless you Elvis and you God given talent!! Miss You!!

  • @HelloKittyPink0517

you are so right ... ...legendary singer! No.1 in history! i don't think we will be so lucky to see another like this in 21st century...

  • i cant believe this has dislikes how can anybody dislike any elvis performance you need your ears and eyes retuning

  • P E R F E C T I O N

  • What a SINGER, a beautiful song only Elvis can do justice to!

  • @haggardly79 no sir that would be Charlie Hodge singing harmony and then the Imperials and the Sweet Inspirations doing the rest of the backing vocals

  • absolute quality - what a song. Always the king.

  • Magic all the way Elvis never another x

  • what a wonderful song too sober up, from the night before

  • is that elvis sing harmony with himself on a prerecorded track ???

    a masterpiece !!

  • @haggardly79 --No, there are anywhere from 1 to 9 harmony singers behind him.

  • My favourite Elvis track...Sublime

  • rip elvis we wont forget you we love you

  • there's a difference between performing a song and singing a song. Yes, you have to get up early in the morning to out perform Elvis in anything, except, perhaps, Michael Jackson, he was the absolute greatest performer. But, as a singer, BJ Thomas has him beat.

  • He exagerates reading the lyrics off a sheet at the beginning, looks at the band and then laughs while still singing to show the audience that he doesn't take this too seriously. Then he proceeds to deliver one of the most beautiful vocal performances ever..totally live. The look he gives the female backing singers at 1:33 as if to say "You are the greatest" is priceless. He makes a mistake at 3:45, smiles and just keeps going. I could listen to this on a continous loop for ever.

  • @alfagtvjan ...Then he proceeds to deliver one of the most beautiful vocal performances ever..totally live...Totalmente de acuerdo, ademas, que pedazo de voz "en mayuscula". para mi, el mayor icono de la musica no solo en america.;)

  • This is how Elvis defined himself in the 1970's. He wanted to prove to the world that he could be more than the guy who came along in the 50's, shook his hips and sang "Hound Dog". His dream was to take all his influences and blend them in to a stage show which would blow everyone away. Gospel, Country, Blues, Opera, Pop and Rock.. a kind of American juke box. The band and backing singers were all hand picked by him to reflect the diversity of America. Add his sublime voice and watch the best.

  • @alfagtvjan YEP!!!!!!

  • I don't believe I've ever heard a song sung more beautifully. There's an old Irish poem that translates roughly as: After the passing of the poets, I pity the fading of the world. I will say: After the passing of Elvis, I pity the fading of the world.

  • elvis is a american icon . he pave the way for many rock stars of today, they all give praise to elvis for getting it started [rock& roll]..a legend. im a fan also..got his greatest hits on cd..hes the KING!!!!!

  • elvispresleyfanatic1...thats true, but read the bodyguards book , ELVIS, WHAT HAPPEN.....AMY WINEHOUSE DIED TODAY JULY 23,2011...AGE 27, R.I.P. AMY

  • @09bnunez God bless Elvis and Amy Winehouse...they were both members of the human race..faults and all.

  • @09bnunez Until 2 weeks ago due to copyright I had 265 Amy Winehouse videos on my channel and have been uploading for a few years-I have also been a member of the UK Elvis fan club for over 30yrs{a fan longer}.

Obviously Amy wasn't anywhere near Elvis's league but what she did in a short career was outstanding,MUCH more than Rehabs and Back to blacks.

Most people who critisize her probably have never heard of Me ad Mr Jones,Cherry, Procrastination or her versions of Round Midnight ...ctd

  • @09bnunez ...Someone to watch over me or her amazing live version of Lullaby of Birdland{all on Youtube}.Amy Winehouse did a lot more than most people know.

Most of the public had never heard of A Little less conversation until a few years back but had spent years knocking Elvis.

How many times have you heard people say Elvis was just a fat junkie and knowing just how talented he really was?

  • how can a man hurt himself, with all the drugs, he died of drug abuse, it was cover up to look like he died of a heart attack, , rip elvis

  • @09bnunez he behaved better than most artists. At least his drugs were legally prescribed. unlike the stupid actions of ozzy osbourne and amy winehouse

  • Esta musica é simplesmente linda, pois nos leva ao passado .

' SAUDADE É SENTIMENTO QUE QUANDO NÃO CABE NO CORAÇÃO, ESCORRE PELOS OLHOS'

  • Cant believe this track is not on the Elvis thats the way it is Special Edition 2001 got to one of the best tracks from the 70's

  • Elvis The Legend lives forever!!!!

  • i agree with you @Lekha84

and no one can be like him..oh i love Elvis :-( wish to see him...someday,out there

  • I LOVE this song & video!!! Elvis was & still is the BEST vocalist/singer, performer & entertainer. When he sang, moved around on stage, or played his guitar...he told a story that was so good, you would never want it to end. I wasn't born when he was around but just from watching videos of him...I keep wanting more!!! It's funny how times have changed because music stars today would get criticized for reading the lyrics right before the song. 1 of the reasons why I love Elvis!!

  • Dang that's awesome!

  • Orchestration is beautiful..from 1970 until 1974, he was at his best........

  • 8 dislikes=8 jealous idiots!..great!..luv it!..Elvis always!

  • Quando Elvis morreu, eu era apenas uma criança;

Mas quando ouço suas musicas não sei explicar bem ao certo, me sinto como estivesse ao seu lado no palco.

Acho que nunca vou deixar de escutar o Rei do Rock.

    Daniel Marcio Norberto, BH- MG

  • magnificent! Orchestration and back up singers, and of course Elvis, absolutely superb !

  • I really like B.J. Thomas' version, but E's has it beaten.

  • Who knows who is responsible for the bassline.. Love the tension that it builds

  • @erikwens Bass played by Jerry Scheff but song arranged by Elvis' TCB band pianist Glen D. Hardin.

  • @leon41075 Thanks!

  • and he was so worried about forgetting the lyrics...

  • Great Song sung by a great singer. Miss you Elvis

  • what can you say sung from the heart with real feelings, great love song from the king.

  • Elvis was a racist ---NOT! I grew up believing the GREAT LIE!!! There is just no evidence of racism from this man! Quite the opposite! Now I can enjoy his beautiful talent w/o guilt! Elvis may you RIP!!!

  • The King...The King Is Dead,,, Long Live The king. not much else to be said !

  • The King...The King Is Dead,,, Long Live The king. not much else to be said !

  • Not only perfect anamar2360, it´s so sweet, and tender this song in the Elvis voice.

  • PERFECT ,JUST PERFECT

  • I LOVE YOU EAP! (: 5 DISLKES! WTF.

  • I LOVE YOU EAP! (: 5 DISLKES! WTF.

  • To me this performance is faultless.

Just Elvis doing what he does best, totally in charge, and in great voice.

    Love him. TCB

  • when elvis asks for the words 2 this song, he wasn't jokin'!!!! he was very worried that on opening night he wouldn't remember words, there is an elvis documentary with elvis saying if i get through the 1st verse i'm fine, but guys i'm worried!!! he obviously made a joke of it- genius- but omg, yet another fab' performance from the king. ty love it sound is superb xxx

  • its cute how he was looking at the paper to remember the first phraze of the song :) i dont blame him! he had to memorize thousands of songs. He sang it like no other. Love him :)

  • An awesome.powerful, and magical performance.Elvis will live on forever in our hearts.Amen

  • Quite possibly, one of the most delicious live performances in the history of the world.. (yeah, I know, he screws up in the middle). But it's Elvis, and listening to his voice on this, that honey-filled baritone, who gives a fuck..?

Look at him between the 2:12 and 3:12 mark, just groovin', diggin' it, getting lost in the song...

If he'd stuck to this kind of brilliance from here on out, and got some people around him who really cared, well ...but the rest is history.

    RIP, brother.

  • wow fantastic job of remastering... thank you so mcu

  • u know when u get that cold shivering feeling down the bak of ur neck

    down ur back

    over ur arms

    yep just had it!

elvis i would have loved to have met u ur simply amazing :D

  • @MegaSunshine76 I get that every time I hear this song by the King.

  • Outstanding. No entertainer can match a performance by Elvis.

  • excellent!

  • CLASSIC.

  • the king of music!!

  • During rehearsals for the show in Las Vegas, Elvis was afraid of forgetting the lyrics to this song. In this presentation, he forgets an excerpt of the letter and begins to laugh.

  • Thanks to my mom ..who was crazy over Elvis...therefore so was I as I got older...My they both rest in peace.....

  • Naturally natural, Uniquely unique.

  • I was fortunate enough to see two of his concerts... unforgettable. A real showmans showman. Thanks for the high quality video and sound.

  • Please?

  • Just ask me and I'll stay

  • Elvis Presley! The King of Music!

  • c'mon E...i love ya but what's with the cheat sheets....Why did charlie hodge always have to hand the words to E ?

  • @nyc1rob He worried about this song a lot during rehearsals for this show. I guess he felt he could pull off just reading it on stage because he's elvis presley

  • simply awesome

  • bravo for posting this... i was 8 years old when i asked my mother to buy me an elvis record..in fact it was a tape.. (a cheap copy) That song was in the tape... I am 37 now but everytime i listen to elvis and this song i feel 8 again...aaah memories..

  • @MrScotty948 I'm so sorry for your loss..

  • Thanks for this upload. Great quality that's the difference from the other videos of Elvis

  • The King i drifted away by this song

    greetings from the netherlands

  • pois é, Elvis... eu tb n consigo acreditar q aconteceu tudo q vc diz nessa música comigo tb... this time the girl is gonna stay for more than just a day... vai ser forever, cara!

adoro qdo she slips her hand in my hand And it feels so small and helpless

As my fingers fold around it like a glove.... mais ainda....

When she's whispering her magic And her tears are shining honey sweet with love

    Amo minha Nekô

  • The man was in charge when he was on stage, that's for sure.

  • Leave it to the King to perform a song better than the original artist.

  • elvis the best

  • the king

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever written in my opinion ......... WBA

  • I really like older songs and singers. I could easy like Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Beatles, The Beach Boys or Led Zeppelin. But there was really something different about Elvis. He had the most unique style. That's all I can say.

  • Simply Magic.............

  • OOOOHHHHH, this song, this face, this voice. Amazing. Oh, what a waste, his dying so early in his life.

  • THE KING

  • all that and a beautiful man too.............

  • Keep coming back to this clip on Youtube - because the guy is fantastic. The remastered sound in stereo is a great job. A big hit for Elvis, a live track too! No miming or fake vocals this is 100% Elvis. Makes all ETA's look pale in comparison - infact best to not even compare them to him. No-one can come close to what this guy had.. He was an original. His voice could cover any song he wanted to sing, as proved with this B.J Thomas rendition. Fantastic!

  • @paulreno1 Me too.

  • Elvis's version is better. He reaches notes in the chorus that BJ cant get to. I also like the way the inspiration (The background singers) add to the chorus with their singing

  • What can I say? It's all been said. Elvis Presley, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy and keep the memories alive.

  • I love this performance from 1970. They cut it out of the remastered DVD they released a few years back (can't understand that!) You've done a great rework of the stereo sound. Sounds fantastic!

  • @paulreno1 You can get a 2 disc special edition that has the new stuff in 5.1 and also the old version but redone 2.0 with this song.

  • What year was this performance?Elvis was still look very handsome and his boody is very much in shape.......and his voice Outstanding as always

  • @lattegirl216 August 1970.

  • @navlestreng hey thats the month and year i was born!

  • @navlestreng best ever thx

  • @lattegirl216 Hi this song is from the DVD of Elvis "That's The Way It Is" from 1970 in Las Vegas. If you don't have the DVD then it is a must see. Be sure to get the remastered special edition version. He looks awesome and his vocals are at his peak. 33 years ago today his incredible voice was silenced. But, still to this day he is TCB'ing. Long Live the KING!!!

  • @lattegirl216 august 12 1970 dinner show .

  • Even his small errors made him seem even more perfect!

  • Oh I loved the way u did the ending wow awsome...

  • Elvis sings another Masterpiece! he is having fun with this song grooving to the beat of music and singing with a lot of FEELINGS! I like the part when he ask his back up vocal girls to sing 2:52 SING THE SONG BABY! ONE MORE TIME! ONE MORE!

there will never be another Elvis! RIP.

  • best singer ever fack mj en jb

  • I read that Glenn Hardin 9the pianoplayer) made the arrangement..

  • I LOVE YOU ELVIS...PENNY

  • Ya Could get all musicians in one room all in ther prime and ill gurentee all but one will wanna talk 2 Elvis that being himself

  • Born to be King

  • I really dig the arraignment. Different from the original but better!

  • best rendition of this song and elvis was just gorgeous!

  • ABSOLUTE CLASSIC, THANKS FOR SHARING THIS. GREAT SOUND

  • Cheers big man and TY.

  • awesome 5*

  • I think that Elvis Presley is much better than Andrea Bocceli and others singers like: Justin Bibier, Adam Lambert e etc...

  • Genius

  • now that's elvis.......sing elvis sing!!!!

  • gran Elvis gran orquesta gran coro .todo muy cuidado y arreglado a la perfeccion

  • flawless exact.....precise.....grace ...beauty

  • Orchestration is magnificent.

  • One of the most idiotic things they did was cut this song from the special edition of Elvis 'Thats The Way It Is' the hit song from the original film. The dialogue they had in the re-edited film where he mentions forgetting the lyrics to the song which just didn't make sense. It just looked like he forgot to sing it. The fun Elvis has at the beginning of this clip with the lyrics sheet was all tied in his concern about forgetting the words. Elvis wasn't just the KING he was a funny guy too.

  • Elvis at his best!

  • Just like the Bridge Over Troubled Water posted by navlestreng this is probably the other performance from That's The Way It Is which comes close. As in that performance Elvis is in fine voice and sings in a style which is so relaxed that it almost disguises the sheer power and emotion. The Joe Guercio conducted orchestra's contribution cannot be under emphasised, they are absolutely first class and could have outshone many a singer - but not Elvis. This performance is an absolute classic.
