I too suffer from fibromyalgia and have for so many years. Sometimes the pain is too much to bear and I can’t imagine going on another day feeling this way. But then I found a comforting scripture in the Bible. Revelation 21:4 says “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” This is a promise from Jehovah God. This helps me cope day by day.
I got fibromyalgia when I was sixteen, I'm twenty now, and everyday is a battle to get up. I don't feel any motivation to do anything, even when I love it. I love the piano, but I never feel like playing. I hate going out. My friends don't understand they don't even take the time to research what I have, tell me it's all in my head, that I'm being dramatic. I HURT and ppl say I'm making it up! On top of the pain I suffer everyday is the fatigue and never being able to sleep through the night. I dream THE ENTIRE NIGHT and never get any real rest. My dreams are so vivid and I wake the next morning feeling as if I had never gone to bed! :( Oh, what I would give for some rest and a pain free day! I pray every night asking that He just give me the strength to beat this pain, and I pray that He help all of us get more rest and that He ease our pain.
I'm 19 and have FM. I am in a fog all the time and FM makes it really hard for me to get to all my classes. Parking on my campus is awful and I often have to park really far out and walk across campus to go to class. Hi, me too! But I was able to study massage and was able to figure out how to manage the pain, with special techniques that I learned. For sure, it is not easy to do your own massage but I have been managing since 06 when I got off all the pain pills. If you want to know what I am doing contact me at a a h h massage at g mail. I am planning on making some videos to show how I do this. But I don't have a place to make them, yet. Soon I hope to get started. : )
Thanks for sharing ! I know how you feel because I also have fibromyalgia.
Although I'm glad that I finally find people who know what I feel, I feel so sad that all of you have to go to this hell everyday. So much pain..... And I haven't had a good night sleep in years, I'm too tired to sleep or the pain keeps me awake. Wish all of you much courage to keep going .....
I was diagnosed with this about 9 years ago when i was eight. and i am going on 17 it has basically ruined my life. makes everything about a billion times worse.... keep working through it :)
Thank you for creating this video. I have had fibromyalgia for over 10 years now. I know it exists. I keep hearing of people younger and younger with this and it breaks my heart. I have gone from doctor to doctor looking for that perfect pill that was going to make everything better. The closest thing I have found I found by accident. I started a high antioxidant chocolate shake to lose weight. I lost weight but it is helping my fibro symptoms. So eat lots of antioxidant rich food.

I have a lot of structural injuries to my spinal cord, spine, hips, neck and hands. But the unbearable pain and crushing fatigue is from Fibromyalgia. It is inescapable and destroys your life and your spirit. I have a massive pain threshold and a naturally ambitious and positive nature. If it were just injuries and degenerative conditions I could overcome & live my life as I want. But Fibro is devastating, it isolates you and humiliates you. I am glad to see I am not alone in this struggle.
I am so glad your parents are supportive. That is a very good idea to give those brochures out. It lets you create awareness and maybe they won't be so mean to the next person with this illness. Keep me updated on how you are doing. I will try to help you in any way I can. Your Fibro friend. dev
I have had the rib pain. It also travels. I have trouble with my chest feeling heavy also. It is so frustrating because I never know when or where it is going to be hurting at any given time. Hope this helped a little bit. take care, dev
@AnnAnn240 Dear Ann. I am so sorry that you have had to be diagnosed at such a young age with this invisible illness called fibromyalgia . Keep your faith, strength and hope. Since I was diagnosed the research has come a very long way. Doctors are also learning how to help us more. Some just don't know how to help us yet but I know they are trying to.We need help now. Please if there is anything I can help you with or if I can answer any questions for you contact me anytime.
@xSimplyAmusedx It just breaks my heart that you are so young and have this. If there is anything I can do to help you in any way please contact me. I am so sorry I got behind on my comment answers but will try to check more often now. I live with my husband and he helps me get through this. I hope you have family and friends who are helping you because as you know this is a terrible thing to endure. Just keep your faith, and try to make more people be aware of this invisible illness.
@artbydevon7273 Thank you, yes I have my parents help me out, and I see a psychologist twice a week to help me with the emotional part on this. My psychologist encouraged me to print out brochure(booklets) with information about this illness and everything to give out to people who don't understand or make mean remarks. I get a mean remark, in return they get a brochure and a smile :)
@xSimplyAmusedx The brochures are a very good idea. I know of someone who would park in a handicapped spot with FM and people would give her nasty looks and tell her how horrible she was for "faking" a handicap or "stealing" a handicap parking spot. She printed up a bunch of pamphlets and did the same thing. She even left one on her dash. People are to quick to judge us and dont have the capacity to understand what we go through. Some are just plain nosy and rude.
@xSimplyAmusedx I've been there before. I've had RA since I was 1 and fibro since I was 9. I wrote my GED and got in as a pre-major to a University. Once proving myself there, I got into all of the Univerisites I applied for. Now I have a whole section of the University to back me up and help me along. Missing classes no longer becomes an issue so long as you can keep up with the work. I hope this helped you realize it's not hopeless!
i've had fibro/c.f.s./m.e....(which has led to high b.p./diabetes)-for the last 13 years.i lost my job, my mobility,friends-my wife didn't want to know me-so i lost my kids, house, garden, cant drive anymore-am stuck in my flat 3-5 days a week, haven't slept for more than 3 hours at a time,etc......everybody else who has this-would tell a similar story.HOW CAN PEOPLE THINK WE ARE FAKING THIS? tell me,would anyone go through this-plus chronic pain, plus all the ridicule-just to get a state handout?
@VUPdingCLICK I know what happens when you have Fibromyalgia. I am so sorry that this has happened all because you are ill. People just do not realize how much we are suffering and a kind word or compassionate understanding can help just to make us feel a little better. You are so right. Who would want to fake this?It is just ridiculous for someone to even suggest it.If you need to talk I am home most of the time and always ready to listen and comfort someone. Take care and do not give up.dev
This is such beatiful works that people without Fibromyalgia can not understand. There is nothing Healthwise that compares to it. God Bless ALL Fibro Patients like me. I give the Lord all the praise that gets me through each and every day.
@pnsflgirl Thank-you for your Blessings for all of us. I also believe in God and he gets me through one day at a time. Somedays I don't think I can make it or even want to but I want to live. I just wish I could have less pain. I pray for us all. dev
This is exacally how fibromyalgia is. Its heart breaking and devistating. And its hard for your friends in school to understand. I'm going to have my friends to watch this video. Because I have no other way of explaining this to them. And it hurts to try to. Thank you for explaning this. It must have been really hard..
Having had Fibro for 32 years with a diagnosis only 15 years ago, I lost my time with my husband and children, and am now doing the same with my grandkids as their parents don't want them "disappointed" when I cannot always be there for them when we have planned things. I mostly keep the severe pain away, but the daily pain saps my energy. Thank you for your video. It helps to hear it put into words.
I just got diagnosed with fibromyalgia last week and also have osteoarthritis. This video made me cry because its so true and exactly what I am going through. This is beautiful. Thank You!

This is wonderful. FMS awareness needs to be raised whenever possible. I am a recovered fibromyalgic who completely understands this illness from the inside and back out again. Never give up from failed hope. Keep going!!!

This sounds like me. I am almost totally homebound now as I have lived with this for so long. It is a help to find others that understand. Thanks so much for making this video.
@gorchie56 I so appreciate that others are still watching this video. I just felt it in my heart that these things needed said. My prayers are with you,
Thank-you for taking the time to let me know you think I sort of got my point across. Take care
I was diagnosed 4 days ago after more than 12 years of suffering. Sometimes you think you are alone in your pain until someone comes along like this and describes your feelings as if they are right there in your brain. Thank you.
@tamra1975 Thank-you so much for your comments. I was expressing how I was feeling but I now know that there are so many others who feel this way too. I wish you the best and you really aren't alone. There are so many of us. Take care,
@SuperScreamingEagle I wish this also....People are so busy with their own lives that sometimes you feel like a throw-away-person. I send you my best and pray for you a good day today. Take care,
Thank you for putting this video together! I've lived with fibro my whole life (since early childhood) and you've captured so many of the things I've wanted to shout out to people who just don't understand. I especially like that you addressed those who try to profit by selling false products! I deal with a lot of these scammers on the facebook fibro support groups I run. These people need to understand that we need REAL answers, not their fake products. THANK YOU for this video!
@gameschust ,,,Thank-you for your comments concerning my video on fibromyalgia. I am so happy other persons who have Fibromyalgia like this video and feel I have put into words how they are feeling. I tried to put into words how it feels. I wish you well and hope you are feeling ok today. Take care.
@gameschust I really appreciate your comments. I am thankful that I could say how I feel about Fibromyalgia and that so many others can identify with my words. I hope I have helped in some small way. Sometimes I feel useless and when I read these comments I feel like I have contributed something good. Take care,
Thank you soo much for uploading this. I too have fibromyalgia and im only 18, I was diagnosed when I was 9 years old ao i pretty much had an very hard childhood. Its so hard to be understood, watching this made cry because for once I see and hear others going through the same thing as me.
Thank-you for your comment. I understand how you are feeling. I am sorry it made you cry. There are so many of us dealing with Fibromyalgia and just trying to survive and deal with the constant, severe pain. I hope you are having a good day. You can contact me anytime if you need to talk to someone. Your friend, artbydevon7273
you are not alone...I have fibtomyalgia too .. is hard...i know...I have 18 and all my life I had pains without reasons...no one knew why...now I found out why...and I wish I'd never knew...
thankyou so much for this - you've basically explained the whole 18yrs of my life. Fibro is real, and my support and love for you and anyone else who has it Xx
@SexiSez Thank-you for sending your support and love for me and others. I didn't now that by talking about how I was feeling inside that I could touch so many others who have Fibromyalgia. Take care,
Thank-you for your very nice comments.I am happy I expressed how so many of us feel.I worry too about what if I have to go to a nursing home and lay there in this severe pain. I get scared sometimes. I don't know what the future will bring but I am holding on so tight hoping they find something that takes this terrible pain away. You are so young. They are closer to finding ways to help us....so never give up hope. your friend devon
@angelsarli Fibromyalgia is such a terrible thing to deal with every minute of everyday. I also worry about what will happen to me as I age. I try to just have faith but holding on sometimes is tough. I am proud of all the Fibromyalgia Sufferers who have this terrible thing they call "Fibromyalgia".We are strong. You have to be to even get through a day.
this video really hit home 4 me... its so true how hard it is 2 just try 2 keep going when no1 around u understands... the isolation is always there ; even when u aren't "alone".. i truely wish there were more people who understood & dr's that would actually at least make a decent attempt at some realistic goal of pain control w/o treating u like a drug seeking hypocondriac... & just when u do have sum1s attention BAM !brain / fibro fog... its just everything has become so hard..
Hello, I am so sorry for not responding.Thank you for your nice comments about my video.I know how hard this is for you because I also go through this.I am lucky that I have a doctor who understands.I just came back from the University of Michigan where they gave a Seminar ran by one of the top 8 experts on Fibromyalgia in the United States. He was then had d seminar for doctors to teach them how to treat their patients. If you need to vent or just talk email me or comment anytime. Take care,
I'm so sorry you have to deal with this.I can relate,I do not have Fibromyalgia, but have just been diagnosed with R.A. something to add to my chronic lung disease, liver disease and Epilepsy.People who are lucky enough to have their health just dont understand.I totally depend on the net now for shopping, paying bills, communication as I can no longer manage these by going out.
(cont) Like my new friend Euterperocks,I have my beloved Cats to keep check on me when I get too down~they seem to know!I wish you luck and a cure in the future.I know I'm determined to do as much as I can as long as I can! Cheers,Glee.
Thank you for posting this. I do have some support - unfortunately none that is actually physically present in my life - mostly I just have to deal with creeps who take advantage of my condition, then kick me when I'm down & toss me aside. The sense of isolation in the midst of my suffering is so demoralizing. It's hard to go through this pain day after day with no relief in sight & no supports on hand. It's so bad, I've had to make a pact with my cats that I will not commit suicide.
Thanks Devon for your concerns,i know you probally have low points to where you just want to give up.its been 20 yrs know and the reasons to keep going have just about all gone now,but i hang on and hope you can always find that, wayne
but I have started to enjoy the little things such as a sunny day or anything that I can do even when it isn't very much.Maybe you can start doing this when you do have some parts of the day that you have less pain.I just started doing this myself. Just hold on. I really know how you hurt and I am trying to hold on too. Take care, devon
stop the pain. There are 2 new medications that have already been FDA approved for Fibromyalgia and they have had good results in stopping the pain. These will be on the market soon, so I will be willing to try these to see if they help.I am not trying to tell you what to do but
I have children and grandchildren I love so I am going to hang on until they find something that works and I will pray for you to hang on too. Feel free to get things off your chest and I will listen anytime you need someone to talk to and maybe we both can keep trying to find something that really works.I could even keep you updated as I find information. Don't go for the persons that tell you they have a miracle cure for you or want to make money off your being desperate to ...continued....
I want to live & have more QUALITY of LIFE just as you do.I am so tired of the pain too. I am lucky & through my own research I just found a University and I am lucky that it is close to me, that is one of the best in the country for treating Fibromyalgia & Arthritis. They have some of the best Researchers and Doctors so I am still hopeful something can be done soon. They are trying to help all of us who are in this kind of pain. more people including doctors are becoming aware of this terrible illness and learning how to help people with the pain. Do you see a doctor for your fibromyalgia? Do they help you with your pain? and help you get some sleep? There are medications to do this. There are people and good doctors who really care and you just have to find them. They can at least ease the pain for you and help you sleep and reach that stage 4 sleep you need to repair your muscles.
I will have to send this comment to you in more than one post because it is a little long. Please hang on. I know what you are talking about because I have Fibromyalgia.I suffer terribly and the pain is un relenting and terrible. There are times when I lay on the floor and moan and cry.The good thing is....continued..
Sometimes I can't take a handshake or a hug. Someone sticks out their hand you have 2 choices. I don't get many hugs because people are afraid of hurting me. I am not really one to speak out and people mean well. I hate it when I need a hug but can't take a hug.
I would like to have ADVICE what to do with this fibromyalgia.... I have it. although not all doctors agree wih me... they say it´s imagination etc..or lack of good condition or I eat wrong etc. etc. Well anyway I have had problem with this since 1980.. about... And I have tried a lot of things.. but nothing helps... Well the pain is not the biggest problem..it´s the stiffness in the morning, get tired easily, pain under my feet, dizzynes, my mood changes a lot..etc etc..
And even though my life is much better in other areas than ever... (that talks against that my symptons is about that I am not happy in life... now when I feel much better..emotionally.. I have still these problems... Anyway I don´t want to complain since I for the first time in my lifa are happy... but I have still these problems...
I am not sure what you mean. If you are being understanding then thank-you for your concern. If you have a chronic illness then I really wish you the best. Take care,
This coming christmas will be 20 yrs for me..I tell people that have meet since i got fibro that haven't ever meet Me,as that person no longer exsist,it ruined my job,my marriage,my life period..And worst of all my son at the age of 13 developed it and made it to 26,told me evry day he wanted to die,he did, sucide by cop..I have to stop now

I am always appy to hear from others who are struggling or having problems and I completely understand about 10 years of fibromalgia pain.I have prayed for you and hope you are feeling ok as I write this to you. I send you love, faith and strength to continue to hold on until something is developed to dull the pain enough for us to have quality of life and function. Take care, devon
Thank you so much my friend. It feels a little better these days :) And I really hope that you are feeling ok too. It means a lot to me to find someone who really understand fibromialgia pain, so thank you so much once again. Take care of you, best whishes my friend..

GOD BLESS YOU, This is an AMAZING Video, so well put together, u said just about everything i think needs to be said...**ESPECIALLY about these so called drs with "cures" like this crap "tapping" or herbal remedies?. this is a neurological auto immune disease, its our brain,it doesnt work like a normal person,i am incensed at these scams that give false hope!
Bless you n i am praying for you! btw have u tried the new fms drug LYRICA cause it has been the only thing to really help me longterm.
Thank-you for watching my video and the nice comments. You are so right in your reply..I did try LYRICA but couldn't take it due to the severe side effects I experienced...chest pain, breathing problems and ended up in the hospital...but I am so happy others are being helped by this drug. I will also pray for you. Take care
Great video, I too have felt like giving in to the pain & frustration I have wished I never had to wake up & face another day of pain & loneliness. On bad days looking out of the window seeing people live normal lives makes me feel unable to cope. On those days I go to my room, get as comfy as I can have nice gentle music, some heat & painkillers then just lie and look at the changing sky and birds, it;s very calming. Butterfly hugs to all of you who hurt. XxX
I understand completely how you feel. I send you all my prayers and hope. Thank-you for such good advice and your caring words...it inspires me to hang in there. I know I am not alone but it sure feels like it sometimes. Yours truly
Wow what a great video. Brings tears to my eyes. I am so sorry for the lose of you ful and happy life!! I two have fibro but i hav never known anything differnt, as i can remember pains from as young as 4. Since having mi boys the pain has lessoned in intensity but is affecting me in new areas.
pease take care breathe threw it and smile whenever possiable,
I am very pleased you took the time to let me know you enjoyed my video. I am sorry the Fibromyalgia has affected you in new areas. Dealing with this terrible illness is so frustrating as you know. I send you my best wishes and hope you feel better..Thank-you again,
Well said/presented... I have had it for 10 years, I just wish more people would have a bit more understanding as to how sad and frustrating it is to the sufferer instead of being treated like a hypochondriac... sadly for allot of us by those closest to us.
Hi Artby- I just wanted to thank you for putting together this beautiful video. It brought tears to my eyes. I can totally relate to these feelings. Four years ago, I was close to suicide. I didn't know what was making me so sick, and I felt absolutely useless as both a wife, and mother. After I was diagnosed, I tried all the traditional pharmaceuticals for fibromyalgia, but I still kept going downhill.I networked with others online, asking what worked for them. Good luck. God Bless.- Diana
Well, you did an amazing job. Keep on making videos. We need to keep spreading fibromyalgia awareness. There is still so much prejudice that fibromyalgia is: 1) just a woman's disease 2) only adults can get the disease 3) the disease is NOT genetic 4) the disease is pyschosomatic/induced by trauma/stress 5) people can just "snap out of the disease, if they wanted to" 6) there is some "magic pill" out there that can "cure" the disease 7) that the disease is "curable," at all.
Sorry for the delay. Just replied to all of the comments. When I first put this on I didn't realize I needed to go back to my video and reply.I am so glad you said I found the right words because I have trouble expressing what I feel.I tried to tell a little what it is like to have this dreadful Fibromyalgia. I appreciate your telling me the video was ok.
Oh I understand. I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago after years of always feeling like I'd just been run over by bus. And now that a Rheumatologist has finally pinpointed what's been ailing me (after a long line of other doctors couldn't), it turns out that most in the insurance and medical profession feel that Fibro is just a phantom disease, and that men aren't suppose to get it.
Meanwhile, I'm now starting to have trouble even walking.
Thank-you for your comment. You are so right about what we go through due to Fibromyalgia.I am so sorry you are having trouble walking. I love your sense of humor in your last line. I send you my thoughts and good wishes. If you feel like commenting again feel free to. I am a good listener.Take care

Just keep your faith, and try to make more people be aware of this invisible illness.
artbydevon7273 10 months ago
@artbydevon7273 Thank you, yes I have my parents help me out, and I see a psychologist twice a week to help me with the emotional part on this. My psychologist encouraged me to print out brochure(booklets) with information about this illness and everything to give out to people who don't understand or make mean remarks. I get a mean remark, in return they get a brochure and a smile :)
xSimplyAmusedx 10 months ago
@xSimplyAmusedx The brochures are a very good idea. I know of someone who would park in a handicapped spot with FM and people would give her nasty looks and tell her how horrible she was for "faking" a handicap or "stealing" a handicap parking spot. She printed up a bunch of pamphlets and did the same thing. She even left one on her dash. People are to quick to judge us and dont have the capacity to understand what we go through. Some are just plain nosy and rude.

@xSimplyAmusedx I have fibro, and now my 14 year-old-daughter has it too. I'm sorry for what you're going through.
avipp1 6 months ago

VUPdingCLICK 1 year ago
@VUPdingCLICK I know what happens when you have Fibromyalgia. I am so sorry that this has happened all because you are ill. People just do not realize how much we are suffering and a kind word or compassionate understanding can help just to make us feel a little better. You are so right. Who would want to fake this?It is just ridiculous for someone to even suggest it.If you need to talk I am home most of the time and always ready to listen and comfort someone. Take care and do not give up.dev

THANK YOU for this video!

this video really hit home 4 me... its so true how hard it is 2 just try 2 keep going when no1 around u understands... the isolation is always there ; even when u aren't "alone".. i truely wish there were more people who understood & dr's that would actually at least make a decent attempt at some realistic goal of pain control w/o treating u like a drug seeking hypocondriac... & just when u do have sum1s attention BAM !brain / fibro fog... its just everything has become so hard..

It's so bad, I've had to make a pact with my cats that I will not commit suicide.

more people including doctors are becoming aware of this terrible illness and learning how to help people with the pain. Do you see a doctor for your fibromyalgia? Do they help you with your pain? and help you get some sleep? Great video, I too have felt like giving in to the pain & frustration I have wished I never had to wake up & face another day of pain & loneliness. On bad days looking out of the window seeing people live normal lives makes me feel unable to cope. On those days I go to my room, get as comfy as I can have nice gentle music, some heat & painkillers then just lie and look at the changing sky and birds, it;s very calming. Butterfly hugs to all of you who hurt. XxX

Good luck. God Bless.- Diana

artbydevon7273 3 years ago
Well, you did an amazing job. Keep on making videos. We need to keep spreading fibromyalgia awareness. There is still so much prejudice that fibromyalgia is: 1) just a woman's disease 2) only adults can get the disease 3) the disease is NOT genetic 4) the disease is pyschosomatic/induced by trauma/stress 5) people can just "snap out of the disease, if they wanted to" 6) there is some "magic pill" out there that can "cure" the disease 7) that the disease is "curable," at all.

Wow, I can't even get sick right, hahaha.
