they are made in korea and they are very fantastic guitars! If you just upgrade the pickups to burstbucker pros you will get that classic gibson sound for less than half the price! and i've found out that Gibsons fret boards actually decrease the sustain alittle and epiphones does the exact opposite! and they use high quality equipment on these beasts so you can count it will be great!

aaalllright...i got the same guitar, and I solved the heavy-neck problem^^ I just took the "thing" (sorry i`m from germany, and i don`t know what the word for it is) where the guitar-strap "holds" the guitar (I hope you know what I mean :S) and I placed it at the backside of the guitar. And I use a leather strap, so the neck heaviness is not a problem...I hope that that may helped you....

You get use to NEck Heaviness.. Try putting the strap across the heel of the Guitar ala Allen Collins

eh this is the guitar I own. Personally I think its a great beginner guitar. BUT the thing is....the neck is heavier than the body lol so it will droop down when your not holding onto it. Also, the neck is so damn long you tend to hit things a lot...or is that just me?

Yea I traded that in for a melody maker...VERY GOOD TRADE...I enjoyed my Epi..but Gibson? You can never go wrong with a Gibson!

i have the gibson firebird and the case for it is gigantic.

you can shove it in a gigbag, but the headstock sticks out&it has a neckthrough body so if you crack the neck, you are pretty much fuct.

Sorry, I haven`t played that Les Paul so its impossible to say anything wise. Firebird is so different guitar. It has large body and it feels different than any else guitars. Or maybe Explorers.

@littleVguitars Get the Ultra II. This think only looks like a firebird. It doesn't have mini humbuckers like I think firebird should. It would probably sound more like a firebird if it was neck-through and had that crappy vibrato that doesn't stay in tune, just cause the bridge gives it a different tone too.

Of course it goes att all, but not fast. Tuners and saddle are well built, so it keeps in tune very well.
