El Pueblo is flat out dangerous if you are not local! You need to roll in there with 3-4 hommies to feel kinda safe! Especially after 3am. Seems like Tico's are just jealous and want to take from you what doesn't belong to them! If you are alone or not in a large group... expect to get roughed up!

@dgincorp Totally hear what you're saying.....and technically I suppose I agree. We've just never had a problem,,, But I think we conduct ourselves a little different than most,, maybe it's an overall attitude...not sure, but yeah, El Pueblo is not for the timid.

@decaalv obviously that sucks....... all's I can say is we have fun there, but if people think it's too sketchy, then they shouldn't go. Sorry to hear that about your friend.

i was there in DEC. of 09 and my Primas took me there. had a great time. the night clubs don't shut down till 5a.m. and the drinks are cheap. and NOT water down. lol. Security is well done.. i recommend it for those who are traveling s00n to COSTA RICA!. Stop by and you'll have FUN!! ENJOY!!

i blve they didnt even ask for I.D @ the bar!! it was awesome!!..i walked in w a jacket which it brought a hoodye, security told me i couldn't walk w it around the clubs.. so i had to leave out w the lady who sales the candy for less then a dollar. that's what she does for her living.. sales candy and she checks in the coats.. LOL..

i was in Costa Rica in Dec. 09. my Primas took me to EL PUEBLO! and it was GREAT!! it was better then N.Y.C Night clubs. they dont shut it down till 5a.m.. drinks are off the hook. and cheap as well. ill be there in march of 2010.

Hola! Bueno, estudie en San Jose/San Pedro hace mes. Fui a El Pueblo una noche con amigos. Fue interesante pero no hubo tanta gente esa noche. Tome una tequila al lado de una prostituta . . . fueron muchisimas, y alguien penso que yo fuera una mujer tradicional del estilo antiguo pero pros. de todos modos. NO ME GUSTA el hecho de que algunos hombres / policia de seguridad nos persigieran por tanto tiempo. Pasamos buena noche, y casi bese otra mujer *otra vez.).

Just got back from C.R. yesterday. The one night we spent in San Jose, we hit up this cool little bar/club in El Pueblo that was pretty much all locals there but us. Can't think of the name, was hoping I'd find it in this vid. Couldn't find it, but good stuff nonetheless. Curious cuz we made friends with a local photog who took a lot of good pics of us, and trying to find those pics... lol.

I'll be moving to Costa Rica on Aug 1st , and thanks to your videos ..I know where I'm going to stay until I get my own place ( "Tranquilo Backpackers Hostel " ) . Take care guys
