that's why you always apply the parking break on military vehicles :P

They don't use the parking brake when transporting vehicles that have a brake cable. It would part due to the movement of the vehicle on its suspension during transportation. Bit like when you bounce somebodies car when they've blocked your driveway or something. It knackers the brake cable.

We had the same trouble on ferries in rough weather. We always lashed the vehicles using lashing eyes on the underside of the chasis and took parking brakes off.

Negative. Air-drop is still an important part of America's Military. The 82nd Airborne still has a full unit of personnel to setup such air-drops. Just research Parachute Rigger, they do rig vehicles as well, and you might see their capabilities. Airborne!
