  • Why did they have to make it all black? :( I love the more classic silver/chome look of X100.

  • What kind of flash can you get for this camera?

  • Is there a focus peaking confirmation on the camera?

  • You guys have to have the M mount adapter ready from release date, so you don't make the same mistake Ricoh did with the GXR.

  • That looks like the sensor is completely exposed while changing lenses. Doesn't it have a shutter?

  • Hi fuji guys, You guys are cool... I always look for your preview. Can you tell me How can I use leica elmarit 28mm (M) on X pro 1. Can it be same 28mm or any change ! pls let me know. Also any chance that fuji will make a full frame 3/4 camera ?

  • @chathappanok We are currently working on a M-mount adapter for the X-Pro1. Since the sensor is not a Full Frame, there will be a conversion factor approx 1.5x (42mm). I do not have any information from Fujifilm on plans for Full Frame cameras unfortunately.

  • thanks but the crop factor of the sensor is not the same as a correction factor of filed of view, I mean that a 35 mm is not even close as a 50mm in that sensor, it's a CROP

  • This is the best camera/lens review I've seen. Great work guys!!!

  • you guys need to teach sigma how to present their products

  • The voice-over is so lazy. This guy speaks an a million miles and hour and does;t even finish some of his words.... bad review!

  • @lcassidyVIG Then why have you not shown how it is done properly?

Go on get on with it then!!!???

  • Would be nice to see some AF demonstrations to see whether it is fast/accurate enough for genuine pro use. I hope it is as I want this kind of camera as a compliment to my D3s kits but want AF so M9 no good.

  • @TLPhoto1 WOW!! I never realised ''pros'' used autofocus lol...

  • @BlouseFashion No fo course we don't. That's why Nikon et al spend so much money developing the technology for us in things like the D3s I use every day - so we can ignore it.

  • @TLPhoto1

Uses a Nikon but needs autofocus and uses words like Pro in the same line?!!

Sounds like an armchair tog to me.

  • @BlouseFashion So armchair that I make my living from it. You obviously know absolutely nothing whatsoever about professional photography, judging from your comments.

  • @TLPhoto1 If you are going to judge me by my limited comments you are not making an educated judgement but rather an egotistical one.

You are obviously easily offended by a teasing comment.

Why dont you tell me about professional photography starting with the history and art of photography before auto focus and how professional photographers happily lived and still do live without it!!

A successful man does not need to demmand his status perhaps?

All the best I wish you well.

  • @BlouseFashion Material gain is not a trophy of professionalism either its worthless meaningless paper.

Remove the paper whats left that makes you professional?

    A Nikon with auto focus?

Where's the art in that or more to the point where is the photography in that?

  • has the noise on the focus motor gone away while recording video??????????????

  • @13vafanculo You can manually focus during video now. This will help reduce noise of course.

  • Hi, Great video!... I saw a few jpeg samples at the Fuji official site, and they all seemed a tiny bit soft, out of focus, is it me or were they not taken properly? I certainly hope it has something to do with the jpeg format, because I really like this camera.

  • @lozzonelo Some were shot at 1/20s. Fuji images work well when sharpened via editing software too.

  • The fujifuys are the best. Awesome camera, it's like an expensive watch, very accurate engineering. I already have the X100 but I'm so tempted by all the improvements.

If you want to understand what the guys are talking about the new LCD screen google:

'stuff-review x-pro1 whitemagic' for a good explanation of the tech.

Fujifilm simply picked or created the best for each part of the camera.

  • still would be a dream if it could be an affordable version of the m9... very few could afford the m9 but more could afford this camera even with all the lenses. not need to mention how much are the lenses for the leica...

  • but still i can not wait to see it....... camera looks amazing anyway......

another thing is how good is the flash made for this camera that will be sold apart.

    great review... anyway.

  • i really like the idea of this camera, prime lenses etc... but very concerned about the steep price specially in the uk... the camera looks amazing. and in a way could but i do not think compete with the leica m9... the idea of the prime lenses is a good idea, but is forcing people to get the three lenses. and probably wait for the zoom form fuji that might come in 2013. another thing is i am not convince about the lack of flash in the camera, and the idea of pushing the iso too much....

  • omg he's touching the lens elements.... heartbroken </3

  • @raymondlo84 I noticed that as well.

Someone also needs to introduce him to a fingernail trimmer.

  • I heard a rumor that Fuji will announce the official price of the X-Pro1 this weekend. Is that true?

  • are you going to create a full frame similar camera and lenses?

  • @FotografIasi I don't have that information

  • hmm, very slow start up as well...

  • magnification glass in the viewfinder? Does that mean the viewfinder will only work with the three lenses that have already been announced?

  • @suspendedanimation There are two magnification factors. It will accommodate future lenses however depending on focal length, when using the OVF, the framing window will be smaller with longer zooms. Since the camera overs Hybrid viewfinder, you can always use the EVF for accurate framing.

  • Is the X-Pro1 weather sealed? That would be a great touch considering many working photographers, like me, have to take photographs under heavy rain or dusty environment...

  • @baguiopunx X-Pro1 is not weather sealed.

  • Comment removed

  • @fujiguys thats a bit of a disappointment... this could have been the ultimate photojournalist camera but now knowing you can't even use it in a misty environment drops its pro-value down

  • I have this on pre-order but I am very concerend about the lack of diopter adjustment. I shoot with glasses on and I require between -2 and -3 depending on the screen. This adjustment is something I have come to expect as a standard feature and I am not happy to have to purchase an add-in adjustment lens. Also, when I give my cam to my wife to shoot with the corrective lens will have to come out... wtf Fuji!

  • @oldenumber7 I understand your concerns of the lack of diopter adjustment. Unfortunately, the decision was made in order to keep this esthetics of the camera very clean looking. Having a diopter adds approx 1cm to the eye piece making it stand our of place from the cameras design. As there is a thread available, there will be accessories available for things like adjustment glasses and rubber eyepieces from 3rd party manufacturers.

  • @oldenumber7 it has adjustment, look closer on the left side of the viewfinder.

  • @dvkerns You're right.

  • @Billy tell Fuji to get off their lazy asses and put a mike jack in the camera before it hits the streets and raise the shutter speed to 8000th of sec. What is the need for a f/1.4 lens if you have to put a ND filter on it to be of use. Lets get it right before it is released they know what it needs to make it a $1700.00 camera body. Billy read all you can find on this camera that the public has to say. They know what it needs, to be the camera that they claim it is.

  • @MrRickClark Ok, but many specs are set for this camera and can't be changed. Trust me, i push for so much more.

  • Jeez... yada yada yada yada yada yada... annoying voice.

  • @fvgotch annoying comment.

  • how many "AGAIN" can you put in one statement ?

  • I hope AF will be improved comparing to X100 and that the viewfinder's front glass won't slide from left to the right getting some dust inside at the same time : [

  • 'Unbelievable image quality' WHERE???!

  • i want one, but SILVER!

  • What a shame they didn't actually listen to feedback and instead stuck with focus by wire. Sure its a great update (coming from an X100 user), but its not the camera many of us were hoping for. I dont wear glasses, but im sure the lack of diopter adjuster will anger many who do. Thank god they included a speaker though, so you can hear if its in focus.. Whats next? Braille embossed buttons?

  • Why is the tripod mount not centered with the lens? And so unnecessarily close to the battery compartment?

  • @MAFGmedia I will ask Tokyo next time. Will check if it has to do with balance of the camera or for security reasons being attached to a camera post so consumers can't remove the batteries,etc..

  • @fujiguys Thanks for asking Tokyo, please update me when you have an answer. I hope this is strictly an exhibition model if battery theft security is implemented that way (still very odd). They could easily have an alloy plate below that secures the battery compartment to a lens-centered tripod mount like others during exhibition and demos.

  • @fujiguys - I also hope it is not a weight issue because with larger lenses, an off centered tripod mount like what they have now will generate a weight issue both sideways and forward. That is why mounts on pro cameras are lens-centered so heavier lenses used will only have to counter a forward weight.

  • I'm throwing money at the screen, why isn't anything happening? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

  • But will it be as rugged and durable as a leica? For this price i bloody hope so! Anyone know when it arrives on sale???

  • @RiOtEmpire777 Available in March, 2012

  • Would Fuji be providing a Firmware update to the X100 similar to this? It will be awesome if you do!

  • @goodboid I am pushing for this.

  • Haha! My Nex-5N shipped in on the day this was announced! T.T

  • "sharp.. and and... and... and.. and.. an..." anyway x-pro1 is an impresive camera! in my opinion is excelent for travel photography.

  • If they do a full frame version eventually do you think these lens are full frame?

  • @Pur11zz No. New Full Frame lens would have to be produced if that's the case.

  • Tell your Japanese bosses that they are definitely on the right path with this camera. If the cost is reasonable I will be purchasing asap.

  • why do they keep calling it a "rangefinder" style camera... a rangefinder is a rangefinder, this is not a rangefinder (I wish it was!)

  • @DODPHOTOGRAPHY It is a "rangefiner" style camera. Nobody said it works like a rangefinder. its just style to look like one.

  • Wanna see X-Pro2 with Full frame sensor, that could be nicer :)

    Please ~ fuji

  • @Goowaa Leica M9...

  • @Goowaa Does the fact that the lenses are not APS-C native (Like Nikon's DX line of lenses) indicate that they plan to launch a FF model with the same X-mount and line-up of lenses? Perhaps.

  • @Goowaa and rangefinder

  • is the manual focus fly by wire or mechanical? this is very important

  • @heber810 Focus by wire

  • @regularchickens I see people saying that but no one at fuji seems to be saying that just speculation, also they need to talk about AF speed super importnat for me

  • this camera is really cool, way better than what panasonic and olympus are offering. Its a real competitor for the sony nex 7.

  • oh oh fuji i just hope that the fly-by-wire mf is far better than the one in the x100. It seems that you just ignored the main problems of the x100 (unusable mf and unreliable af in lowlight) I just can hope that you fixed this properly. Such a nice piece of a camera but without usable mf for me its just another piece of e-waste. will hope the best.

  • better quality it means more money,.specially they claim their APS-C sensor is better than the current FF sensor,Hybrid VF,Excelent built Quality,Fast Lense with High Quality Glass,..This is not a NON SENSE ,.This is Serious War on Mirrorless Market,..

    I just Bought GX1+EVF2 +PL 25 F1.4 DG =$1550,..but really disappointed even for an GF1 upgrade

  • Biggest and most expensive APS-C mirrorless by far. Fuji should just build lenses for SONY and not release this non-sense.

  • @Peichen01 u are probably too ignorant to know that Fuji is excellent in producing their own sensor. Go check out 'fujifilm organic sensor'

  • @ngso0009 Organic sensor is just a prototype. The word out now is that X-Pro1 uses SONY's 16mp sensor with a custom color filters. The X10 also uses SONY's 12mp so no surprise there.

  • I have the same question as another poster..

Will the lenses have focus distance markings?

  • @johnpliz No.

  • doesn't look to me like the X-mount could fit a full frame sensor in the future, I could be wrong but it looks really small. Nice camera regardless!

  • Billy, enough with talk, lets see some samples please!!!!

  • X-trans technology sounds very smart, it gives me the same reaction as when learned about the special microlens on kodak's CMOS sensor built for M9.

Too bad the camera body is not as portable as Nex 7. Was hoping for one w similar footprint. So it doesn't deliver a knockout punch.

  • @bourbakis But... you need a lens as well mate. Unless you have a pinhole adapter in your lens cap for uber artistic 24mp images.

  • i would prefer an iso dial instead of an ev. also the tripod mount isnt even cented with the lens

  • Give us a Full Frame X-Pro Fuji! An articulating screen like what Nikon did on the Coolpix 8400!

  • Why still no ISO dial?

  • @SLRist use FN button or new Q menu.

  • too many "of course"...

  • Darn, now what do I do with my Leica.?

  • Guys, we want to hear the shutter! :(

  • at 4:45 It will have the manual zoom on the 35mm fixed lens. YEAAH!!! ;p

  • @KNARFN70 Incorrect, he meant to say manual focusing. A fixed lens cannot zoom.

  • What is the point in having a manual focus ring with NO distance markings? Did they forget to engrave them or is this just a pre-production model?

  • @aboliston u may have missed the point where the manual focus is using fly-by-wire mechanism

  • @aboliston According to DPreview, it's a "by-wire" focusing system... :( Yes, why not fully mechanic? Are people forgetting how to focus?

  • @aboliston Since the lense only "does stuff", when operating with the powered-on camera, the distance marking might be read from the VF or the display, ey?!

  • @aboliston Sadly, (like the x100) it isn't a mechanical focus ring and work through fly by wire. The lens sends an electronic signal to the camera to change the focus, which means it can have focus markings or stops :(

  • @aboliston Might be a pre-production model but who cares what the distance marking says? Your eye is the best means to focus.

  • @aboliston

I have the Fuji X100 and the distance marking is embedded in the EVF. The X-Pro1 lenses should be the same.

  • @aboliston No, too much weight.....

  • at Conscardr Which foul is using here Godwins Law? (check wikipedia for that expression) - Shame on you! look at mirrorlessrumors com blog, and you will see the 1600 and 650 for every lens.

  • watch?v=4gzREBGKUFI WhatDigitalCamera's preview of the X-Pro1. The UK Fujifilm rep says the body will be around 1000 pounds and the lenses around 500 pounds... That's around $1600 for the body and $800 for the lenses? Sounds contrary to other reports since it inflates the price of the lenses greatly.

  • "Mein Fuhrer, Steiner... Steiner just defected to Japan with 1600 Reichsmarks."

  • @conscarcdr

     haha

  • Looks great, but I'll stick to my X100, the X-Pro1 is a lot bigger & heavier, let alone the lenses.

It's also pretty ugly compared to the X100, the complete black looks so plain & cheap =(.

  • Shutter noise, please!!!

  • @TheTukTuk2008 be creative and produce your own shutter noise!

  • I'll preorder it!

  • price only body will be ...astonishing....1600 € !

  • @RSteuermann What?! So the lenses are probably going to be €800 ~ €1200... I'd rather get Canon primes and expand my collection further...

  • Awesome. Can't wait to try one myself.

  • Why dont you shoot a picture so we can here the shutter-volume??

  • that is a sweet camera! i wish i had one of those for my trip to the Sundance Film Festival.I have taken my fuji finepix a200 for a fast point and shoot for getting pictures with celebrities.now i need to upgrade to the x-pro1 !

  • can't wait to see photo samples!

  • Thanks for the video. Any ideas about the price?

  • Can't wait to see the UK price for this and when it will be available. I have wanted Fuji to make a camera like this for years so this is a dream come true! The X-Series are amazing cameras and this only sates what most of us have known since the X100 was released and that's Fuji are back in the major league! Excellent, well done Fuji!

  • Wow, this is amazing, how much will it cost and when will it come out in Europe?

Looking forward to the 60mm f/2.4

  • @kuguar13 Should be available March, 2012
