  • Basically, think of a jetfoil as one big wing on a plane. A wing is designed so that air passing underneath the wing lifts the plane up while air passing over top of the wing keeps the plane steady. A jetfoil propels itself forward using a motor underwater. As it moves, the same things which happen to a wing happen to a jetfoil. The boat is lifted out of the water so that it can move faster, but it stays balanced because the air passing over the boat keeps it in place. Pretty cool right?

  • It doesnt even bounce up and down like all the other boats.

  • ah so beautiful and they are so comfy :)

  • cool as fu** - (By the way - who disliked this clip.... - wierdo!!)

  • @durp86

    there are wings in water.

  • That is just unbelievable, cool though!

  • the only question i have is.........What happens when there is a rogue wave about 25 feet in height?!?!?!

  • @1godamn

if there re rough sea condition, the services will be suspended. Only the typhoon season in summer may see rough sea.

  • What were those stix at the bottom of it ?

  • looks very stable, like not following the waves upps and downs

  • ahh i know that thats the one that i see from hong-kong

  • '

    how fast speed this boat

  • @bestamerica

40-42knots , formerly HMS Speedy P296, in HK since 1986.

  • Gcmy,

    okay thank explain

  • @Gcmy totally different hull - similar lines though

  • wtf is this?

  • is it me or could i see a portuguese flagg at the backk ?

  • I used to love this when it travelled from Dover to Ostend in the late 1970's 1980's and early 1990's.. channel tunnel fast trains killed it off along with the Hovercraft

  • look slike there is a submarine caryying the boat

  • It looks like a big fat dog sloshing through the water.

  • Feels like your flying...no waves etc etc....just as smooth as it looks.

  • i dont get it. how do jetfoil boats work?

  • smthg similar like airplane, just the wing is underwater.

Btw I have seen one in Italy, in on of biggest lake near Swiss border.

  • Me too, and I really enjoyed the ride.

I suffer from motion sickness so I was expecting the worst when I got into that boat, instead, it was the smoothest boat ride of my life. It felt as if it wasn't on water at all!

  • @RCDR1FT3R They work like airplanes. They have the "hydrofoils" in the water, that create lift, lifting the boat out of the water. This allows the boat to go faster due to less drag, and also makes it more efficient.

  • @RCDR1FT3R see the russian meteor!

  • and it left virtualy no wake.

  • they built these in Boeing Renton, where I grew up. Saw them build them at the open house. Very cool, too bad normal boats are more cost effective.

  • THanks for posting, no quake waves and ultra quite. we need more boats like these. thanks again for posting!

  • hi LTF85199,

yr RC jetfoil is excellent, are u in HK? do you plan to make a foilcat?

is it propelled by one water jet? where u can find the waterpump and which type of pump is that, can u give me some information?

    thanks,

    GCMY
