the music is so scary, but this story is very interesting!
i first read this in our english book, never understood it. my friend suggested i watch it on youtube, and man, did i understand it more. now, it wont be hard for me to make a comic strip about this. thank you :)
this is really good.. i watched your video along with the text next to me and you basically read and acted it out for me.. i would have been a little confused if i were to just read the story.. thank you so much :D
now i have an essay about montresor but you made it much more enjoyable!
I loved all the subtle lines and such, you delivered them with such veiled malice, I was giggling and waitng for the lightning and maniacal laughter. But, I know the story so it didn't happen. Gotta say I like this more than any other version I've seen, the sites were just great! :D
Where to begin. I found the entire film very entertaining, however the performance (acting) to me came off more of as a theatrical performance rather than a movie. My only regret is that they were not a bit older, as I imagined Montressor and Fortunado aged to be about thirty. The walking scene in part 1 could have been shorter but overall a job very well done, on both film and acting. I hope you don't take offense to me preferring the Price version however, and I do hope to see more for you
@kikiyo770 No answer still. I thrust a torch through the remaining aperture and let it fall within. There came forth in return only a jingling of the bells. My heart grew sick -- on account of the dampness of the catacombs. I hastened to make an end of my labour. I forced the last stone into its position; I plastered it up. Against the new masonry I reerected the old rampart of bones. For the half of a century no mortal has disturbed them.
This is fantastic! Great rendition of the story. I somewhat wish the actors had more makeup to portrait the older gentlemen and rough olden early 18th century look with stronger husky voices. I thought the camera shots were great!
You skipped the part when Fortunato started screaming and then Montresor started screaming back to drown him out. And also you missed the part when Montresor thrust his sword inside the recess where Fortunato was chained, only to hit nothing.
This movie is wonderful, its a bit over the top at times, but i enjoyed it. I do wish u could have done something with mrs. fortunato, like adding onto the story.
We had to read this in my Accel English class and do an analysis on it. This helped me understand it. Curse Poe's use of wording and imagery, ha ha. I can understand his poems perfectly, but his short story works are often rather puzzling. Thanks, this is very much the best video I have seen on it. =)
Excellent job, John! You did a wonderful job of setting up the atmosphere for this! I liked your choice in music as well. It was sad, eerie and a little scary, much like Montresor and Fortunatos situation, in my opinion. I was a little worried you would end on a narration, which wouldve taken away a lot since you dont sound like a man in his 70s or 80s talking about an event 50 years prior, but you ended it seamlessly! Well done!
thanks, watched both videos. read the story for college, but this video gave me a better insight.

We never actually learn what Fortunato did to offend the narrator--only that it was something very humiliating.

the word fortunato derives of fortunate in italian so u can see some irony in his name for not being a very fortunate person.

was the part where he threw the torch through the wall in there? (I just skimmed)

It was not. The national park didn't want us carrying around large torches, so we used a smaller candle lantern.
