This is either a lie, an idiot, or an outdated comment. I loved the trial, and I'm a past WOW player.  I've done a lot of research, but I had to see for myself. I loved Rift...althought its a clear plagurization...it's simply a "fixed wow." It's seamless...I love it. The only bad thing I have to say about it is the hour waits for instances.

The only reason WoW is fun is because it's so easy... You barley have to do anything but face roll, in RIFT you wont be able to solo a level 30 elite as a level 15 paladin. ._.

Rift has a 7 day trial - no MMO offers a free trial at release, WOW didn't do this until years later.

I am a former Woah player and now a Rift player. Basically, all you need to know about the two games is this: They're similar... but Rift got rid of all the things people didn't like about WoW, Warhammer, and Aion and added all the things from Aion, Warhammer, and WoW that people liked.

I have been playing the free trial of Rift (now they hv a 7day) and i hv to admit, i am really hving fun, so much i am considering buying it and taking a WoW break.. the Soul Tree ( spec tree) its just awsome, u can mix n match.. rogue/hunter, mage/lock (just an example) and then the rift events can get pretty intense.. i just rly like Rift, its fun and def recommend ppl to try out their free trial.. it is def a nice break from WoW (for those of us who hv been playing it for yrs) :)

Btw :) About 2 days trial. The game is out for a month and they had something like 6 betas in over 6 months:) thats pretty enough for ppl to lvl multiple characters and try the game. You were able to reach lvl 43 or so through then, thats almost 75% of questing/zone content. So a 10day trial wouldnt be an overkill? :P

i think rift is a descent enough game with enough difference to wow to make it feel new & refreshing only problem i have is i hate lvling in mmo's xD but all in all u have to grin & bare the grind of lvling , i also like the fact that if you play say ..... a cleric/rogue class u can change your souls to become an off-tank/ main tank your not just stuck to "i'm a rogue i have to dps all the time" when i get bored of dps i go tank or healer(bard) which give the game more appeal for me

i dont think this game will come out as strong as WoW. there is no real rivalry. its just interesting because WoW becomes less and less interesting. just like age of conan :D:D
