  • Beautiful video. God bless you and your mom. I'm going through the same thing you did; how did you make it through? What made you carry on?

  • Sending my <3 & strength! I made it through because I love life no matter how hard it is. I knew some lessons as painful as they can be, are helpful in the big picture. Which is why the video exists. I miss my mom and feel cheated, but I have to accept that it was her time to go. Her passing taught me to be more open, love and appreciate more. You can't lose someone so important without it changing you. Focus on what is good in life and cherish the things that are special to you.

  • Your mom looked like my mom, beautiful. My mother is on life support as we speak. Thank you for posting. Tobacco kills... (I love you mom)

  • @ahachie

Thanks for the nice comment. I hope you are doing okay.

  • @sonicbondage I doing well, considering. Thank you.

  • I wanna know who are the 3 people disliking this video! It's a TRIBUTE for god's sake.... *rolls eyes*

    Good video. I liked it.

  • Sorry, I do not know speak English.

    Lung cancer killed my mother.

I could not understand him to stop.

And no pictures about it, no video had no top, it was not recording devices.

    My Mother: 1937-2004

    Rest in peace.

A lost soul, from Hungary, the heart of Europe.

  • This video is so sad and it makes me feel that smoking can rip your life apart. I am so sorry about your mother, i didn't know her but she seemed so sweet and kind.

  • Hi. I live near Niagara Falls. I jst quit smoking last week again...I've done it so many times. I think your video is gona help me to not go back nxt time. Ur mothr seemd so sweet & cute..u were a good friend to her

  • @sxymelissannt

Great news on your recent quit!

Thank you for the kind comments and defense of my mom on my other Thanks Tobacco video.

I need to head over to that video and approve comments.

I used to let them be automatic but it got too crazy with the idiots.

You definitely gave that idiot a good earful. :)

    Thanks again!

  • 2;19 says it All. Thank you for Sharing.

  • Who in the fucking hell would dislike this video. What the hell that is true dickheadism

  • R.I.P from Lithuania, just want you to know that this video made me remember how much I love my parents.

  • @manuzkniso

Thanks---this video is 100% love for my Mom. Glad it shows.

  • RIP today on the anniversary of her passing, give thanks for your loving memories and to keep others from smoking after your mom's AND grandmother's early deaths caused by smoking cigarettes. ONE LOVE

  • @TheAnnafisher

Thanks for the comment. I am so proud of my mom.

Hard to believe it's already been 4 years since I last saw her.

I will remember this day as the day she escaped her suffering.

  • What a beautiful woman. God bless her. What a lovely video, seriously tugged at my heartstrings and I want to say, what a blessing she must have been to you, family and friends. I know its not much, but all my wishes and good luck goes towards you and to other people who may be smoking. R.I.P. Shes an inspiration and so are you.

  • @sadieviction

    Thanks for the wishes.

My mom had so much love and patience it makes me humble.

I am just trying to do her justice and honor her life with a purpose.

  • What a beautiful way to pay homage to such a great mom. You made an adorable family unit. <3 Your mom would have loved this. I wish I had something like to pay tribute to my mom. We have lots of photos, but watching a video of her would have a different effect. To see her healthy, happy and well would have been nice. I do have a video from my brothers wedding that has lots of footage of her though. :) Thank you so much for sharing. I bet you make your mom very proud. xoxo

  • @kelaltieri

    Thanks!

You definitely should make a video of the wedding footage of your mom.

Just like my Mom, I only had one tiny bit of video of her before her troubles started.

That's why it's mostly a slide show. Doing stuff like this will cause some tears, but I know that only reflects back to me the intensity of our love.

I hope you can do that for yourself as well on behalf of our mom's.

  • @sonicbondage I already have video footage of my brothers wedding with her in it. :) It's the only video I have of her. I like to put together scrapbook pages with her photos - it's a good way to remember her too. :)

  • @kelaltieri

    Awesome!

I hope you make something nice with your Mom with video and photos.

  • @sonicbondage Thanks. I've been missing her alot more than usual lately. So, I think it's time to make some new scrapbook layouts. :) xoxo

  • @kelaltieri

It will be therapeutic for you.

    A lightening of your spirit!

  • @sonicbondage definitely. :)

  • As of today, I have smoked two and a half cigarettes in 5 going on 6 days. I'm very optimistic that I will once again kick the habit. I did it over 30 years ago & started back after going thru a divorce. Thanks to your video of your Mom, I got on a vigil to stop again. It truly gave me some thought about what I was doing to myself and my family and what I was going to possibly miss because of being addicted to tobacco. God bless you and again, thanks for sharing.

  • @TxLady1us

Thanks for the wonderfully heartfelt comments.

The video seems to work for good caring people.

I care for you all. It makes me happy that we are helping.

You can't put anything in front of that feeling.

Thanks Tobacco is also my most popular video so I know a documentary that can save lives will always beat any video I ever make as a musician.

It kind of stinks that I'm not more popular with my music. lol

  • Thanks so much for sharing this video and the video: Thanks Tobacco for killing my Mom. I had a friend tell me of a video she saw here, but she wasn't sure if this was the one. I watched it before she confirmed it. It truly did get me thinking about my kids, and my grandbabies and I attempted to stop. I failed, but it made me determined to continue trying. I went to a meeting at work, and after doing so signed up with the American Cancer Society to begin a stop smoking program.

  • @TxLady1us

Awesome to hear of your news!

I'm really appreciative of my Mom. It's about time I showed it. :)

Glad I can show our love and make others benefit from the message.

  • thanx for the video , im not a smoker but it will help me helping my friends stop it !

    :)

  • because of the video i am going to stop smoking october 8 will be my last day

  • thnx to u I have stop smoking 50 days and counting!! God bless u and your family!!☻

  • @gogetter1807

    Great News!

    God Bless you too!

  • you look so much like your mom

  • Thank you Charlotte Patricia Gray - because of you I have been quit for 1 Year, 10 Months, 2 Weeks, 5 Days, 2 hours and 52 minutes (688 days). I have saved $5,105.83 (based on a packet of 20 cigarettes costing $10.60 at the time of my quit) by not smoking 9,633 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Month, 2 Days, 10 hours and 45 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 13/10/2008 11:00 p.m. Thank you ♥

  • @SmokefreeNewZealand

Wow those numbers are astounding...$5,105.83 is a ton of money!

And you can't put a price on your health so I'll still say living one more month longer is the best value.

  • Tomorrow I will be one year smoke free thanks to your other video. That video was the catalyst that stopped me in my tracks and made me quit for good.

I had to come by and say thanks to you and your mom.

    God Bless

  • @cowbellpeaceprize

    Awesome testimony!

    God Bless you too!

  • @cowbellpeaceprize

    Thanks for the update.

Makes me happy seeing the positive results.

  • nice video. sorry for your loss. i quit smoking 4 months ago and feel better all the time. smoking is horrible, but it took me years to quit even after a couple friends died from it.

  • aww i just want to hug your mom. and your wife is gorgeous.

  • Such a wondeful tribute to the love of a good mother for a wonderful son!

  • Hi Aaron. I've written to you before but wanted to check in with you. I have been quit now 2 yrs 4mo. Your amazing courage to share your mother's story has helped so many people. We recommend your video to all new members of our quit group. Your mother has a legacy that will live on through the lives of all of us who are now free from addiction. She was a beautiful woman Aaron and she lives in the hearts of hundreds of strangers the world over. Bless you all.

  • @wholoveskitty

Thanks for the update. It's so nice to hear such positive testimonies.

I am glad we made the documentary and of course this one to show the good stuff.

  • Let me say honestly, I quit smoking after watching the other video of her. It had a profound impact on how I looked at smoking.

I am now 8 mos smoke free after smoking 35 years. She might not know it, but she is helping people quit even today.

Thanks for posting this video of her.

    RIP

  • That means a lot to hear. Thanks for the update.

All the people that have quit like you did...with the help of the video is heart-warming.

You are definitely an ex-smoker! Congrats!

  • Aaron, this video made me cry my eyes out. I lost my mother to breast cancer in 1985 when I was 14. I miss her every day. I can truly feel the love you had for your mother and I think you did a wonderful job paying tribute to her through this video. The neatest part of all is I came across this video by accident, it was in my recommended videos when I signed on. The Universe works in mysterious ways. William

  • The Universe is an amazing creation.

It does work on an agenda. All we have to do is notice and take heed.

Thanks for the comment and I hope all is good with your family.

  • I am working on stopping smoking. I won't say quitting, cause we can quit and quit and quit, but I wish to STOP. I would like to thank this young man for posting this video, it is so precious, yet so sad. The Thanks Tobacco, is helping me to accomplish my effort to stop smoking. So, many thanks to you for sharing this part of your life with the world.

  • That means a lot to me!

I really held my love in and was shy most of my life.

Then after losing my Mom I changed.

Life's too short to hold back on emotions.

    Now i share everything!

Thanks to that, I get nice people like you brightening my day.

Awesome to hear you are on your way to becoming an Ex-smoker.

  • I can surely understand that. It is a horrid way tto go and I've known that my whole life. I quit once years ago and when I went through divorce, started back. I've kicked myself so many times. Your Mom seemed like such a precious person, but Lord willing she is with the angels now..smile...

  • I am still here after many months writing you ..still thinking about you and how you you help others by your moms passing i know you must miss her more all the time

    bless you !!

  • It's been quite a ride. Doing lots of good things though. Everyday I think about why I am so thankful to have had my Mom.

  • I'm sorry for your loss

  • rest in peace

  • ur mom was a beautiful women...

    may she rest in peace.

    thankyou for this video...

  • In this video mark the 2:27 time. The look is this sweet one's eyes is so remarkable.

What a loving tribute to all who take that step into desperation and feel they have nothing to live for. Smoking may be an addiction but it is also the sense of hopelessness. Why else would we take poison?

Your tears were most heart felt. I commend your commitment to take the most heart wrenching moments with your beloved mother and have the sincere desire to help others. God made you a very special person.

  • Even though she has passed, you will always have the memories and love for her you did when she was here with us... be thankful for that, because that is something I would have killed for, a mother, she seemed like she was a great lady, a very nice one, which can only means we all know where shes going ^_^b and im sure you will be able to see her again as well

  • thats nice...

"700, small price to pay for great memories"

  • What a wonderful video ..love the part where shes is talking to you and her daughter in law

its sad she had a stroke and was unable to go to your home with you ..she was a very beautiful lady !

  • Thanks !

That part where my Mom said that (about my wife) left a lasting impression on us.

  • Tobacco companies are liars (fail to disclose how deadly/addictive they are), GREEDY and should have NO tax exemptions, in fact they should be FINED, they are a health hazard just like their product!

  • I'm so sorry, I hate tobacco companies. I blame our government for not taking care of its people.

  • god bless u and your family

  • I love the bit of when she was talking to you - precious! X.

  • Me too! I wish I had that camcorder years before that so I could have more of her.

  • I lost my mom to cancer. though I hope you have a great life and are happy and successful in all you do.

God bless you and have a nice day.

  • God bless you too. I would like the same for your life!

  • I really liked your vid. I am sorry for your lost she seemed like a lovely woman.

  • You lost your mom a day after I lost mine...I wonder if that's the connection I feel to you.

We are both certainly in a different place forever...that's just a reality once you lose your mom. But your video and your mom helped me stay strong as I see just days away from my 1-year mark of quitting cigarettes ...thank you both.

  • Sorry for the late response. Congrats on passing your 1-year mark on your quit!

I agree with you on the change in our lives. Live got more meaningful. I just appreciate the small things that much more.

  • this video was very touching me myself is against smoking and i hope you have a good life yourself. bless you...

  • God bless your mum, and may she rest in peace.

  • Hi ,

my mum died too thanx to fags...Age 53....

Me now 33 dont want to die as ur or my mum did.

I stopped smoking 6 weeks ago after long 13 years so I hope it is not too late.....

  • Fags?

  • It's an English term for Cigarettes. lol

Personally, I would prefer to hang out with non-smoking gays over straight smokers. :)

  • aw... im so sorry.. This video made me cry.. I'm so sorry about your mom.. i bet she was a very Sweet Women.. God Bless her soul...

  • Nothing against men, but men are traditionally told to hide their emotions (not in alot of countries, but here), it's so awesome you put those emotions out there, such a wonderful loving tribute.

  • I was once one of those "guys" but now I'd never let pride invalidate honesty or expression of love.

  • Aaron .. I really was glad to see a comment to me from you ..of course I know your message is for everyone tooo. ..

These pictures really tell all of us how wonderful a mother she was and how she loved life ..and YOU !!

and how deep you loved her ..

thanks again for sharing her life here with us !

So happy you have atlest some real life tape of her ..she was so sweet to let her daughter in law know she was a daughter not an in law ..that will stay with your wife forever !!

  • That part where my Mom talked about my wife being her "DAUGHTER", not an "IN-LAW" blew my mind, and it feels so good to capture my Mom's unconditional love on tape so naturally.

She always was so loving towards everyone. She loved and never judged because she had a hard life and was judged harshly by many. I think that's what I respect my Mom for most; she never judged or looked down on someone...that's something I wish I could say rubbed off on me. I'm working on it though. :)

  • I am so happy to see this recording as I come back on youtube today.. yesterday I watched the one where your mom was so sick and passed away..

This recording today was a happy one ..She is a very special person and she has a very special son!

  • This video was very important for me (therapeutically) after making the Thanks Tobacco video (as that was tormenting 4 me) and this video also expanded on her personality more (pre-stroke as the stroke messed her talking up big-time) & I wanted all those that saw her suffer get a chance to know her better in a more positive way. It's a shame I had so little video of her before, but the camcorder was a recent thing for me and I had already moved to Cali and she was in Canada.

    Take care,

    Aaron

  • Once again. GREAT video. Your mom would be very proud. Also, that is some very nice artwork.

  • She only got into it for a year after dropping her art for over 20 years. I knew she had some artistic talent, but she lacked confidence. Glad you like her art. I have much respect for it too. More so now...never realized I should have been more supportive of her. We get so used to the parents doing all the nurturing, but it really is a two way street!

  • Your mother would be proud to see what her son has done in her honour. I lost my child to a brain tumor so I do know how much it hurts to lose those closest to us. Be strong and know that your mother loved you ...like she said at the end of this video.

  • Your mom was a beautiful sweet lady. She didn't deserve what happened. None of your who loved her did either.

  • My mom was my father too. I was raised by just her, and my dad left us at age 2. I kept saying that when my mom was dying "Your the only mother I have, and my dad. You were both."

  • We Both Had Great Mom's! I still reference my absent father as "THE SPERM DONOR" since he stayed in hiding and never once tried to get in touch with me...even after me trying numerous times. ;) My Mom was right when she said I didn't need him anyway!

Props to our strong and loving MOM'S we owe everything to them!!!!

  • Thanks for your loving comments!

Those blasted cigarettes are evil and they should be illegal!

  • good thing i told my uncle to stop smoking

im very sorry for your loss :'(

  • I feel your pain man. My mother was a smoker since she was 16 and she was diagnosed with cancer November 6, 2006 at the age of 53. She then went through chemo and radiation from 12/29/06- April 19,2007. At that point the cancer appeared to be gone. But this past march we found out it came back shortly after she was taken to the hospital due to something obstructing her airway. turned out to be recurrent cancer on the base of her tongue. She died june 7 this year. I am so sorry for your loss.

  • Sorry you lost your Mom too so young!

I hope you become like me and don't let anyone smoke around you. I've also heard too, about 2nd smoke killing the non-smoker while the smoker lives if they smoke indoors.

  • Thank you for the very touching message.

You are so right about the "Era" comment.

Doesn't help that cigarette manufacturers increased the nicotine levels to combat the efforts of anti-smoking programs. They have to protect their profits. How F-in sick is that? I think the Gov't should force the companies to foot the bill for EVERY tobacco-related therapy/illness/death!

I hope your kids quit any way they can and never look back. It's not worth the price or the toll it takes on your health.

  • nice tribute yur mom would have been proud of u and she died proud of u

    rip mama gray

  • Thank you! She died with me most proud of her. It all came together for how much she meant to me and I HAD to be there to return the unconditional love she always had for me.

  • I am overwhelmed every time I see this video and the "Tobacco" video. You have done something so powerful with these two videos. Saying thank you is simply not enough. But I will say it anyway. THANK YOU.

  • Much appreciated!

  • i tip my hat for non smokers. man im 16 and got myself into it, and let me tell you one thing it does not make u kool, girls dont like you if u do it with them, and youll regret it i fiend so much and am trying to cut down alot so if u just started stop!

  • your such a nice son :( i got one message for every one ---- ----- DONT SMOKE

  • this is beautiful you are a wonderful son

  • What a beautiful tribute to your mum - you are a son that every mom would aspire to have :)

    hugs,

    robbster

  • very nice tribute. i'm crying for my mom. she is 50 years and maybe she can die at 65-75. please mom stop smoking.

  • I hope your Mom quits smoking too...regardless, try and capture as many happy memories of her as you can with video and pictures.

Trust me, the idea of making a tribute didn't cross my mind until I realized that my Mom's happy days were over and I was left to scrounge through the few pictures and what little video I had of her.

I did this tribute to contrast my anti-smoking video "Thanks Tobacco: You Killed my Mom" and I also wanted a touching video of my Mom. It helped ease my mind.

  • It may take what it took my friend's mom-a couple of hospital visits, surgeries for blood clots, those trips did it. I'm trying to figure out how to get my chain smoking brother to quit, I'm so sorry you're going through this! It's HORRIBLE, especially because it's your mother. It's SO frustrating!

  • Beautiful tribute. She will always be with you here...which is not the same, but such a nice idea.

  • This video brought me to tears. I promise my son, that I wont smoke. I want to be there for him. You were a wonderful son to your mother. Thank you for putting this up. I hope it opens many eyes. God bless!

  • Your video is very similar to our journey with my mother in law except she did quit smoking in Dec 2006. It brought me to tears because we are still grieving her death on Aug 14th 2008 less than a month ago. She died of lung cancer. When diagnosed she wanted no treatment. She lived another 1 1/2 yrs. Even the graveside service was so similar. We were only family there to say good bye. I loved her dearly and miss her so much.

  • I got to see her in the hospital and she looked very similar to your mother. Not a day goes by that I don't think of my mother and today especially I was thinking of her, and then I saw your video. I'm glad you've been able to turn something negative into something that can be positive for many people.

    Thanks

  • My mother passed away this past June. She died from pancreatic cancer, but she was also a smoker, so I'm sure that contributed to her death. Its amazing how closer to the end how fragile the body begins to look. The last time I saw my mom was on mothers day, and I brought a basket of flowers. We talked a while about what we would do with her things, but we didn't know what to do with them. We figured we had some time to discuss, but the very next weekend I go the call that she had passed away...

  • i lost my mom a month after you....i lost her to heart disease....i miss her each and every day....i want you to know that i do feel you and your mom will help many kids, adults to stop the tobacco habit and stop many from starting the habit....thanks for caring about others!!!!!

  • This is a beautiful tribute to your Mom as well as the love you both had & continue to have for each other. I also appreciate your first video and will pass it on to those I know who today sadly enough still smoke.

Thank-you and know that you are definitly making a difference!

    Peace and Blessings

  • Passing the *Thanks Tobacco* video on to smokers you know is the best thing you can do for them. I couldn't do all this alone, so Thank you!

  • I went through the exact same thing by the letter that you did 10 years ago. My dad was diagnosed with cancer shortly before my 12th birthday. He died 3 weeks later from liver cancer. He was a great man from what i can remember and the pictures and stories my mom tell me. He was 45... He served in the army for 22 years. Inthe army space program office for years after that. He was funny person to be around had a great sense of humour, everyone loved him. Oh god its so hard to write this.

  • Thanks for sharing your story. There are many people in this world suffering from the effects of cigarettes, but every story is just as important and very sad.

I hope all this energy against smoking snowballs its way into congress. Maybe election 2012 there will be a nominee saying "vote for me and I will abolish cigarettes from this Country" Wishful thinking I know! ;)

  • Please know that your videos helped me during a time I really needed it. Thank you for doing what you've done and sacrificing your privacy to help others.

  • That means so much to hear. It was hard for me to want to make "Thanks Tobacco: You Killed my Mom" public, but it's for a truly good cause. I'm filled with joy hearing comments that the video helps.

  • What a tribute to your mother's memory! What a loving and beautiful woman she was! I think this one is far more inspiring than the other.

  • Thanks. This video was a necessity after making the anti-smoking video. I realized the other one was heart-wrenching and I needed to balance things out by showing a positive side of things.

  • You can be proud of your mom!!

You can be sure that many people will give up smoking after they saw this video(I was one of them). Thank you so much! God bless you!

  • That is awesome to hear. God Bless U!

  • Hey Aaron, just to let you know all the way from the Uk, I watched your video months ago and it made me real sad, very tearful, I quit right then and there, so Im just dropping by to say that each time Im tempted to have a cigarette I come back here and to your other video and its you guys that keep me smoke free. Just from one person the Charlotte has helped, I thank her from my heart for agreeing to the video and hope to catch her in heaven.

  • That means a lot to me. God Bless You!

  • you got your mom's angel eyes, man was she beautiful, i know she's proud of you, ;) hugzzz to ya Candace

  • Thanks Candace. Hug back.

  • thanks again Aaron for sharing i still have my mom but she lost a lung to smoking and cancer

  • Aaron, I have written to you a couple of times but looks like you have many fans. Wanted you to know I am still quit. It has been 8 months now and your video was a big part of that. I hope you and your wife are doing well. God bless your mother.

  • I sure hope you got a response from me. lol

That's excellent news that you are smoke-free.

We are doing well too and thanks for the update for me and the wife.

  • Aaron, I haven't signed onto youtube in a while, but was very excited to see this new video you've posted since my last visit of your Mom! Totally priceless! Anyway, I was coming to fetch the url of the original one to post on my page for all the young people thinking of smoking. When I try to talk to kids about NOT smoking, I just give them the link to the bio you originally made, which is still my youtube favorite & always will be! Love to you, sis & all your family! Thanks for everything!

  • Thanks for the kind comment. I felt I really had to make a nice video of her like this to contrast the painful but necessary documentary.

Very glad to see that people like you are being so helpful with the spreading of the *Thanks Tobacco* video as I know every little bit leads to saving lives. It's become a cause that has taken on a life of its own...and that's a good thing.

Patti is my wife, not my sis. lol

I was joking with her about that. ;)

  • I Feel Really Bad For You I kNOW hOW IT FEELS I LOST MY GRANDPA ON THE Day i was born

  • this really apreaciate my mom, i like hate her and , just thinking how it would be if i lost her, would be like , dieing

  • i'm sorry for your lost i know it very hard losing someone very close to you.very nice tribut

  • Both of my gradfathers passed, only got to see one once, and never saw the other one, and my aunt, a heavy drug attic passed away last week, so I feel you on this one man.

    R.I.P

  • I'm really sorry for your loss. I do miss my mom as well.. She was also a chain smoker and an alcoholic too. She died in 1980. Happy Mother's Day Mom!!

  • Another touching video from Double A. I love the songs, especially the first one. I was glad to know your Mom, and have many memories of us all living in the yellow house together. It's great that you got this done in time for Mother's Day. Your thoughtfulness never fails to amaze me.

  • I'm glad you got more of her speaking up...her words were touching, and I was blessed to have her as a "Mom". Excellent tribute, Aaron! xo

  • Very nice..... its been 11 years since my mother died at the age of 57 from smoking,,,I think this is a wonderful video you have done in honor of your mom....i also think ....Thanks tobacco should be seen by everyone who thinks smoking is cool
