  • Somehow I managed to miss Bill Bruford playing live, despite being a fan.

I always figured I'd get to see him one day soon... then he retired ^_^

    Damn.

  • NEW PROGRESSIVE ROCK BAND TYPE ''INNERSPACEBAND'' ON FACEBOOK. THANK YOU

  • cool drumming - nice to se and hear Bruford play real drums not those "fake" electrical

  • Great band, love the number, but what is up with the director? Why am I watching Mr. B playing time (although, of course, he does it beautifully) over the majority of the bass solo? I understand that it's Bill's band, but come on... BTW, any one know what bass Laurence is playing?

  • Crack band! Their timing is otherworldly to me.

  • Oh my god. Just realized Bruford looks like Chick Corea.

  • Bruford is one of Fishman's (of Phish) influences.

  • Exquisite drumming! Loved his shoes too!

  • Bruford rox, but I hate that sax garbage.

  • Feine Musik!

  • definitely Bruford has his own style...........thanks for posting......this is amazing.

  • What's the line-up (who are the musicians?) Who's the sax player?

  • @mpab123

    Sax player is Tim Garland

  • @mpab123

Sax player is Tim Garland, Laurence Cottle bass, Gwlym Symcock piona. Amazing line up

  • @satheist thanks a lot, will try to catch him live (alas without Bill Bruford).

  • @mpab123

Symcock has just got a new album out. Garland has played with Chick Corea.

  • @satheist thanks will have a lok, these guys are 3F: fresh, funky and freaky! Vvirutuosi too, but that doesn't scan so well.

  • This song sounds VERY VERY much like the song "Rapid Transit" by jazz pianist Billy Childs on his 1991 CD "His April Touch"...Both great songs.

  • this belongs in the smithsonian!!!

  • sick bassist too

  • This is freakin' tight. Bruford is so tasteful. He's the unsung hero of progressive drumming

  • I love Bruford and I love Buddy Rich but I can't see the comparison. Completely different drummers in my opinion. I've found that a musicians personality usually matches their playing and in the case of Bill Bruford and Buddy Rich they definately have different personalities both on and off the kit.

  • Bruford reminds me a lot of Buddy Rich.

  • that set up bill uses... wow. i'd love to sit behind that. so ergonomic..

  • I _need_ that dvd..

  • damn! this drummer does the job perfectly in every style he has played.

  • Bill Bruford is one of my biggest inspirations on the drums. Incredible feel and dexterity. Earthworks is tremendous, but I think Bruford Borstlap is even cooler

  • holy crap

  • LOVE ITTTT!

  • I like it. a lot.. and Coltrane too of course.. but now that´s bruford and his friends.. no controversy..just enjoy!

  • saw this sort of line-up at abc in Glasgow and it was mind blowing. Bruford is by far the best

  • ha, there's a copyright thing at the begging and it's been right fucking put on youtube. that is fucking cheeky. anyway, BEST JAZZ GROUP EVER, UNDISPUTABLE. EVEN BETTER THAN COLTRANE.

  • Great stuff. Thanks for sharing it with us.
