Jack Daniels is not bourbon, it's sour mash whiskey....oh well. This movie is a classic....this scene reminds me of being early to get to dances at the Hotel Del Coronado in the late 60s yrs before it was vastly remodeled. Almost empty bar, the bartender getting his shift together....another similiar setting is the old Sky Bar in the El Cortez Hotel in downtown San Diego.

just watched the 1997 version, and I have 2 say I like this version better. I guess I'm saying that bcuz I haven't read the book
