@SNAKEMAN756 There aren't many other snakes in Britain, the Grass snake and Adder is pretty much it. The Slow Worm isn't a Snake, it's just a legless Lizard, (Yes, there's a difference)
I really do hate it when I find slow worms under some old stuff I have in my garden! I hate the way the move so quickly when you don't expect it! But they are harmless things - it's me that should get over my silly phobia! :)
@OoiwearpradaoO That is true, me and my mum moved some old carpet that was left in our garden (for some reason?XD) and I saw a slow worm under there, my mum basically SHIT her self, with her crazed phobia of snakes, well, it looked like a snake anyway, lmfao. :} I picked it up, and I stroked it, aw, It's little tongue :33
thats class. If you get any spare grass snakes, send them up here. Check out my videos to see the site I have for snakes, its a huge pond, south facing slope, compost heaps etc. We already have slow worms but have not yet seen grass snakes, but they're pretty rare up here.
There are plenty of good reptile sites in the North East. Join NERAG the North east reptile & Amphibian group and join some of their surveys trips. Just google ARG uk to find out more. free to join. I have been watching adders on the moors in county durham since feb 12th this year they only need 6 degrees C to become active.
Grass snakes are cool nice find I had an adder in my garden up in Redway a few years ago. slow worms are quite rare now old carpet and compost attracts them.

I've found an adder taking a slow worm, and the grass snake has had goldfish (I have a photo!), so i suppose that is possible.

Hi. They only other snakes we get are adders. I haven't seen one in the garden for a few years - they are pretty shy!
allerfordtroll 4 years ago
I guess it all depends on what area you are in. Good luck composting and critter watching.
