yep, that T03 was too small for this engine . this turbo was a chinese crap that blow a few month after this vidéo . There was also a lot of clutch slip on this shoot .

yea, turbos make noise, but so does exhaust. i think it has a turbo on it, but it's just too small to hear. that, or his exhaust is too loud to hear it.
listen at about 15secs you can hear is spool up (turbo) superchargers are belt driven and the only belt on a vw engine is the one driving the dynamo/alt. If a supercharger was to be fitted it would run from the same pulley which it clearly does not in the vid :)
see either side of the orange bit (fanhousing) theres a blue pipe coming off the top of one of the pair of carbs and going behind the fan housing... its probably , like alot of outlawflat4 cars, running a turbo inside the rear luggage space. i emphasise the point of listening at 0.15 to the turbo spooling up... i hope your not listening for a dump valve? you do realise not all turbo cars use them...
maybe im mistaken, but my truck is turbo and i hear that puppy every day i drive it. if this bug is turbo it must one hell of a quiet setup, i cant hear it at all

oh ok so you're running a fuel injected setup? whyd you go with the t03? have you ever looked into a moderately sized t3/t4? you have around 1800 cc's im assuming... but then again i guess these little pushrod motors arent really capable of supporting anything to big... and wow on the 26" tires...

Tires are Hoosier QTP 26x9.5 15" on Fuch 7x15 rims . Engine specs : 84 ctroke x 94 bore, engle cam, 40x35.5 heads, CB throttle bodies Megasquirt Ecu V3.0 & MSExtra , the turbo was a T03 on the vidéo .

type1 has the fan shroud on top like you see here. TypeIV will have a Fan at the lower rear.
