Two things on the "punishment should fit the crime"
First may I suggest you use your rational. If one sins to a finite government then it deserves a finite punishment. If one sins to an eternal being then the punishment is eternally. Also in hell Mr. Sherlock you forgot that people continue to sin and thus are punished.

The reason for eternal punishment is, God is eternal when you sin again him you have sinned against the eternal God. Your sin might have been in a finite time but to God it will be with him eternally. Jesus (God) died on the cross (the eternal death) for your sins, it is through him that we can be saved. God gave us free will.

Evolution does not explain how life began, but explains how life became more complex over time after life started. A common misconception is that for God to exist everything must be a miracle, to simply look and acknowledge what is already there is simply not acceptable. Before, I had been a devout Christian who went to church every week, and prayed every night, but some of the immoral things that took place in the bible that god not only okay ed, but encourage/commanded were very distasteful. Actually the bible says you can only have sex if both have agreed on it.
The reason for eternal punishment is, God is eternal when you sin again him you have sinned against the eternal God. Your sin might have been in a finite time but to God it will be with him eternally. Jesus (God) died on the cross (the eternal death) for your sins, it is through him that we can be saved. God gave us free will.

It is a complicated matter but the simple answer would be no sex is forced. To force sex would also go against the many other laws in the bible. The bible speaks against causing others harm or pain be it physical or emotional. All I'm asking is that you open up your heart and at least attempt to read the bible before criticizing.

God is fairy tales for adults. Infinite punishments for a finite crime sounds pretty immoral to me. To me it sounds like god has some self esteem issues. If I were a powerful being I would not get offended just because someone chooses not to believe in me, but apparently god has some confidence issues.

The point is there were so many gods throughout human history that the odds of your god being the correct one is very negligible. @sashamaz Not to be rude, but evolution is not a religion. It is a scientific theory supported, fossil records, dna, and other forms of evidence. Couple this with the fact that scientists who have spent their entire academic career studying, testing, and publishing papers on evolution support it. Calling evolution a religion is like calling the law of gravity a religion, despite testable verifiable evidence to support it. Plus I doubt you have read the bible in its entirety to believe it is true

According to evolution in the past there were chemicals that assembled themselves by chance into Franken-cell. Then Franken-cell mysteriously came to life and began reproducing itself. (spontaneous generation) Such an event only happened once no one was there to see it, it has never happened again leaving only faith.

Evolution does not explain how life began, but explains how life became more complex over time after life started. Plus, there is evidence that Abiogenesis was possible in Earth's very early history when the environment was completely different, see Urey-Miller Experiment. Laws of Physics in no way verifies your god's existence.

A common misconception is that for God to exist everything must be a miracle, to simply look and acknowledge what is already there is simply not acceptable. The laws of physics might not prove God's existence but in no way do they prove that he did not create it.

Before, I had been a devout Christian who went to church every week, and prayed every night, but some of the immoral things that took place in the bible that god not only okay ed, but encourage/commanded were very distasteful.
