  • thats so cool. evolved into godzilla's contemporary theme and the mysterians defense preparations theme

  • I couldn't get my hand on this Soundtrack (included on Ifukube Film Works Vol. 6). Sadly, this is the only source I have. According to the postings here it's a weeks effort of Ifukube (among other things) - awesome! Made a test today: Made people listen to "Imediate" and "Future World"-Trailer-Music and this. Asked what they remembered: Each of them had an Ifukube-Earworm; none of them could remember the rest. I was not surprised ;).

  • This is clearly a variation of the Godzilla-Theme. Note: Not a copy, a variation. I don't know wich version is better. "Godzilla-Theme" is a Standard; this is more elaborate. It's *groar* against *groar*. Is it allowed to love them bove in an equal but seperate way? Like twin brothers who look the same but develope in a different way? I think so!

  • @LaVerneistic

Because of how most of Toho's lowed budget films were made, Ifukube usually only had 4-5 days to write and record the score. So he often borrowed his own works to be reused. This track was originally in "Battle in Outer Space" as a piece called Intermezzo. It was later written into the Godzilla theme. Not sure exactly when, though.

  • @Gojira1985 Actually, the "Intermezzo" was not used in BATTLE IN OUTER SPACE. It was used in Ifukube's "Symphonic Fantasia" as an intermezzo leading up the the BIOS March, but was not in the film itself. Similarly, what is labeled "Transport Music" from KING KONG ESCAPES in one of the other Symphonic Fantasias is actually the theme cycle used for Lord Wakisaka's convoy in CHUSHINGURA and was not used in KING KONG ESCAPES. Why that is I can't tell you, but it's kind of interesting.

  • @TylerEMartin Really?

Perhaps Ifukube himself got confused as to the sources.... Wouldn't surprise me when I myself scroll around Youtube and find two identical songs with different names from different movies.

WHat I wouldn't give to have talked with him personally. owo

  • A shame this full soundtrack isn't available. Great stuff.
