  • Nice man, i was trying to figure out how to do a drum solo this is very nice !

  • thanx a lot, i really needed that for my band. by the way,you played that drum solo like a boss

  • Thank you very much :)

  • this is truly great this helped we great Btw just wondering is there a point to holding the stick like to do in your left hand or is it just something u do

  • @hoffdadie I'm not sure what you mean............how am I holding it?

  • I'm a beginner and all but wow when he speeds up.. my hands (specially the left hand) just can't go that fast omg >.< lol

  • sweet dude!

  • Bro work on your traditional grip looks a little weak but good playing

  • yes finally a video that shows me something i subbed by the way

  • Beginners, you do not want to spend much practice time doing this unless you already have a firm grasp of rudiments, accents, linear and otherswise phrasing...etc

  • omg thank you sooo much this helped ALOT

  • Amen. This is indeed helpful. Thanks, bro!

  • nice job man.....

  • Wow this is very helpful I have been laying drums for fourteen years and I think you summed up the basic in 3 min. Thats aweesome.......Really great way to learn solos!

  • Probably the best instructional on the fundamentals drum soloing I've ever seen! Basic, Simple, Melodic and FUN! Getting around the kit, HITTING the drums firmly, following specific patterns, learning improvisation and feel! Great stuff!!!

  • good job. thanks so much

  • @athalas Don't even know who Saw guy is. So long.

  • You have helped me greatly.

  • thats sick :P

  • Thanks for the solo advice. I'll try it out.

  • Thanks Bill, I'm totally going to default to the floor tom solo if I choke! I hope I don't need to, but it's a great safety net.

  • I like your ideas, but how do you make it sound cool without those chops. You have advanced chops that some people (like me, haha) don't have yet.

  • As long as the timing of what you're doing is right, then you don't need good chops. Drumming is all about timing. If you have no chops and good timing, then no matter what you play, it will sound 'right'. Keep the flow going forward (the timing moving ahead all the time) and the chops will 'make themselvs'. To keep the timing going forward, slam the left heel down on the downbeats. This helps. Make it a habit.

  • @themikester94 - Hey, you're right. I completely read your sentence wrong. There were no periods, so I read the last part as, "this guy is a retard". Now I see what you were saying. I understand why you would be upset. By the way, this my friend in the video, so don't think bad of him. He didn't know I did that until afterward and he didn't get to see your comment. Could you please repost it? I'm going to unblock you in either case. By the way, I think you're a good drummer, but I was mad.

  • good, but what are you doing with the bass?
