  • thanks so much for uploading this! one of my favorite vhs horror rentals as a kid! i can't believe it's not out on US dvd yet. i miss the old independent video rental stores where you could find cool movies like this, netflix and redbox just don't have the charm of the bizarre obscure collections. but luckily we have cool fans like you that take the time to share the good stuff on youtube and torrent sites.

  • @toribjork10 You are very welcome!

  • Why in the fuck did someone upload a digitally remastered version of this film?! That totally destroys the atmosphere. Put the grainy, gritty, gloomy looking VHS version complete with a ever deteriorating film master up, that's the way this film SHOUD look.

  • @grindhousejunky79 Shut up and stop complaining

  • @HeilleZanAllezVous In the VHS copy that I saw as a kid, some of the father's lines in the basement were removed, as well as the brief conversation with the mother. When the father says "Answer me!" it cuts directly to "and may the lord have mercy on your soul!" Then, after the first close-up of the clown doll, it cuts directly to when the creepy music starts up again and the father is walking throught the hall. I have to admit I think it worked better that way, but I thank you for this copy.

  • Great movie, easily Umberto Lenzi's greatest achievment of the mid-late 80s (and beyond, for that matter). One of the most atmospheric horror films of all time.

  • Someone should tell film makers radio amatuers dont receve massages via CB radios, thats a dam nonesense, Idiots.

  • This is like the third time i've watched the movie but I never understood who the killer was of the parents.... My best guess is the crazy guy that takes care of the house?

  • Does anyone know anything about the SOUNDTRACK?!? I must knoooow...

  • @jovanmusky check on discogs (dot) com "La Casa 3"

  • @jovanmusky I have uploaded it, if thats any interest to you.

  • This is so AWESOME.

  • Belle atmosfere ed inquadrature, come dire "basta poco"

  • Since "Poltergeist" took place before this film I'm thinking this clown was one of Spielberg's props or they made a clown like his from Poltergeist.

  • The music is so annoying lol

  • So we did the first two muders? That never made any sense to me.

  • I have it on VHS too! So proud!!

  • ok what the heck did she kill and omg not another creepy clown doll thanks to that other movie i saw that had a clown doll who grabed that litle boy and pulled under the bed i have been scared of clowns since the young age of six omg that looks like the same clown doll from that creepy movie yuck I hate clowns and creepy dolls and thoose dolls on the strings and thoose dolls you shove your hands in to make them talk

  • For Italian unofficial Evil Dead sequels, they aren't that bad...

  • Loved this movie, nice effects and good acting. I hate the clown though, scares me to to death.

  • i have been looking for this movie all over thank you to who ever put this video on

  • I keep hearing the "Daleks" lol :)

  • Ah wow so thats where the clown from scary movie 2 came from. Nice.

  • @Wickedblackjuggalo19 It probably is from Tobe Hooper's / Steven Spielberg's "Poltergeist", the clown is very similar. I say probably because I have'nt seen Scary Movie 2.

  • i dont think i shld wtch this movie in the dark

  • I love this

  • It surely has been mentioned in all the comments before: This is the same house pictured in "House By The Cemetery"

  • @lupinostar Indeed, watch my tour visit of the house now-days (slideshow)!

  • ma in italiano non c è ? me lo devo vedere sempre in VHS XD

  • the score in this film is amazing

  • First time I saw this was at a friends's birthday party. I think I was 9 or so at the time. Scared the crap out of me! For some reason my parents thought it would be cool if I saw all the horror movies out at the time (Halloween, Jason, Freddy, etc), but this one scared me the most and gave me nightmares for a long time! Lol even now I still have dreams of demons and Freddy coming after me lol and I'm 29.

  • That weird chanting scared the shit out of me when I was younger

  • Holy mother of... This movie scared me forever... Thanks for uploading. i bought it on VHS (freakin hard to find!!) to be able to get over it by watching it over and over again... didnt worked! still scared like a little school girl... i think i still see it with me 12 years old eyes... i'm havaing a hard time watching it right now... wow... thank you so much, i've been dying to show it to some friends of mine!! :)

  • Fuck this song :-O I want to download it and scare my lil sister

  • The voices are dubbed. Is this filmed in Montreal?

  • @Suspiria10 Filmed in Boston.

  • @HeilleZanAllezVous Filmed in Scituate, Massachusetts - that's the Ellis House, which now is home to artist studios for the Scituate Art Association.

  • @RupieZum bet you did not read the description...

  • @HeilleZanAllezVous You're right, I didn't - I was too busy reading your recent comment that it was filmed in Boston.

  • @RupieZum no offense btw ;-)

  • @Suspiria10 no they are not.

  • I remember watching this when I was like five and not knowing what the fuck was going on.

  • italian evil dead?

  • Oddly enough this was the first horror movie I ever saw. I have came far. lol

  • Wow. This is quite an intense movie.

  • Been dying to see this movie! I just noticed the part where the mom(?) gets her throat slit, the music in the background is from Stage Fright, the track is called "Fish Dreams"!

  • I knew that house looked familiar.

  • 4:22 to 4:50 - Sampled on the song "Ghosthouse" by Mortician!

  • I remember seeing this at a birthday party when I was like 9 or 10 years old and it scared the crap out of me. Lol now it's kinda funny. Hopefully youtube won't remove it!

  • The doll song sounds like it is saying "Hey, Rob. Hey, Rob. Are you there?" over and over.

  • @radioblueheart

That's funny cause Rob (Robbie), is the name of Carol Ann's brother in Poltergeist and he has a doll that look quite the same!

  • @HeilleZanAllezVous

    I never thought about that!

I knew the doll and the stuff flying around the room stuff was a take on Poltergeist, but that gives it a new dimension.

  • om gawwwd!! i watched this as a little girl and i thought it was freakin scary!! Now since im older, this movie is sooooo cheesy!!! lol but i still love its weirdness!!

  • a forgotten 80s horrol movie love this as a kid the clown scared the hell out of me

  • @HeilleZanAllezVous you are english????

  • @gerrymolosso

Actually I'm from Québec, Canada. Je parle français!

  • @HeilleZanAllezVous okok you are canada!!! i'm not speak francais!!! I'm Italy :)

  • @gerrymolosso

  • @SeeMyJoinDate BEH INEFETTI SI HAI RAGIONE E' PIENA DI MISTERO E DI SUSPANCE, MA LA CASA 5 E' IL FATTO DI QLL VEKKIA INDEMONIATA NN ME LO VIDI TT, NN MI ANDAVA XK ERANO COINVOLTI ANKE I BAMBINI ECC...!!! CMQ IO SU STREMING HO TROVATO SL LA DUE E LA QUATTRO!!! SE HAI QUALKOSA A DISPOSIZIONE IN ITALIANO ME LO MANDI GRZ CARO!!!!! ;)

  • What you would have subtitled in Spanish, at least, I say.

  • i never understood when the music comes on wht are the words coming out of the clown....does anyone know???

  • @onehotmama52406 its a nursery rime backwards

  • Take Notice, Umberto Lenzi was a very consistant Director over 2 and a half decades. He may not have the reknowned career highpoints like Argento had with Profondo Rosso, or Suspiria, but Lenzi has always kept his signature abrupt violence and skill at creating tension (with absurd imagery) at a consitant pace. Gialli, Slasher, Thriller, Crime, or Zombie Film: he has made every genre.

Ghosthouse is a fine example of late 1980's Eurohorror. A jumbled but entertaining flick.
