  • YOU,my friend,are a GREAT teacher!

  • I love the sound of this instrument. I like Irish music and a 5-string is going to be used more for melody in Irish music. Tenor banjos are very expensive, I think this is the best of two worlds. A nice guitar sound to it but with the twang of a banjo.

  • The Flying Index Finger of Fate ! LOL That's a good one !! Nice Ditty's !!

  • Do you have a DVD teaching product?

  • Love the enthusiasm

  • very good, thank's that has got me going! Lodge

  • Great way to get the banjo sound without learning the traditional 5 string banjo. Are the 6-string banjos not played with finger picks?

  • Please tell me what are the notes of every strings. I got one and i vould Like to learn Philippe.forteguerre@orange.fr tanks!

  • A great transitional instrument, for somebody hesitant to learn 4- or 5-string banjo.

  • Very cool man!

  • how much are these

    BANJITARS buddy

  • I love that you have banana hands. yet still play with with pin point accuracy on the hammer -ons. huzzah!

  • @iangoescrunch it is those hands that allow him to fret two strings at once,.

  • @mycajah Size has nothing to do with it!

  • @Dobro33H Really? The pads of my fingers don't seem big enough to cover two strings, not on my guitar anyway.

  • does a 6 string banjo have the same chords like a guitar?

  • @luuuk4s It can--and he has it tuned to E standard there, but I often keep mine in either drop D (DADGBE) or an open D Minor (DADFAD)...the different tunings lend themselves to more Mississippi Blues, "OH Brother Where Art Thou" type of sound. But don't feel bad if you can't get this right away, for the past 2 years I keep coming back here and trying it, and it isn't as easy as it looks.

  • what.. you is the man.. great teacher !

  • keep on pickin and a grinnin big dog. cant stop playing the subway shuffle, thanks for teaching me!

  • Great video, and even better playing. I really wanna learn to play like that.

  • "The flying index finger of fate." Right on!

  • @jezmundberserker just like a regular guitar

  • i agree with neilismorgan.. im in the same situation, got one for christmas, just cant figure out how to tune it... but when i do ill definately be coming back to this.... any pointers on tuning it?

  • gettin one at christmas!

  • The base string on mine keeps sliding off the bridge, is there anything I can do? (like file the slot down so it fits deeper) I CANT PLAY THIS WITHOUT A BASE STRING AND ITS PISSIN ME OFF

  • Wow that's an interesting style I've never heard before. Definitely going to have to learn that, but I'll have to wing it on a five string.

  • @muzics5430 thanks for your answer, but i can play this now;-) But- i have since one week ago a 5-string and i learn very fast :-) Best regards Peter from germany

  • the flying index finger of faith hahaha nice

I saw the video more than 100 times, but i think i`m to stupid for thic (cryyy)

  • @Beutegermane don't give up. I think he alternates between the bottom two strings. Just a guess though, practice that though. I only play 5 string banjo so this is a little different. But don't give up!

  • Very cool I'm getting one today

  • Great!!!!! I`m from germany and i have since 4 weeks a guitarbanjo. It looks so easy, patrick is playing the subway shuffle, burt i broke my fingers...left nowes not what the right hand is doing. =))=))...i thin, i need 1000 years to play this =))=))...bye the way, patrick is a more than good teacher for this. Thank you very much ;-)

  • wonderful thanks

  • Very cool. I'm now fully convinced I need one of these things. I usually just play guitar, but I've been looking for a different type of vibe/sound. By the way, at the beginning of the video when you show how the banjo sounds, it reminds me of the intro to "London Blues" by Canned Heat. If you have a chance, find that song and you'll see what I mean.

  • How does your banjo sound so good when you hammer on? When I do it I can barely hear it

  • nice lil rendition of freight train.

  • Looks like brilliant entertainment if you and your mates are drunk. They do look like fun.

  • what make is this one?

  • @babyzenon It's an "Indiana" Barnd

  • @babyzenon It is an "Indiana" 6 string banjo

  • happy happy joy joy! thanks bro!

  • what tuning is this in?

  • @victimdivine eadgbe

  • what tuning is this in?

  • why do people insist on calling these banjos? it is a guitar in stringing and playing it merely has a banjo sound board. if you can play a guitar you can play this. It is like saying that a mandolin banjo is a banjo or a ukulele banjo is a banjo. Does this mean that an f hole jazz gutar is a chello?

  • @Roemerfreak tuned just like a guitar, you got it man

  • That's really cool that tightening the head increases the response. That would be great for tapping. Nice video!

I have a theory - it's impossible to be depressed when someones playing a banjo. Go on defy me.. You cant!

  • Wait. This "2 finger E chord".. Is it like an E7 shape? Or are you missing off the B (second fret, A string) and just strumming the D,G,B, and e strings?

  • I've a six string banjo it's made by tanglewood.

  • love it!

  • I love it, not so different then some of the picking I already do so I will have to give that a try at work tomorrow. I work at guitar center and we have a Dean guitar banjo in stock so I now have my lunch break planned, All the best to you, always fun stuff.
