Really when you think about it the shark in Jaws the Revenge didn't look bad it was just the way they made it move, like if the shark didn't look like it was riding on a freaking escalator all the time the shark wouldn't be a main reason everyone hates the movie.

did you know jaws wasn't scripted when the fin was in the water you actually saw the shark, but it kept braking so steven speilberg changed it, so i would say jaws has the best production values but i haven't seen deep blue sea and it looks good so il have a look :) aparently it has the highest budget so i guess the sharks will actually look good

I actually agree with that.... Jaws 3D was god-Awful in every way until the last 20 minutes... Jaws 4 while having the most ridiculous plot ever... the opening scene where the shark actually killed ''Sean'' brodys son is better then ANYTHING in Jaws 3....

After that the film goes to hell once they leave amity... but i'll take Jaws 4 over Jaws 3D any day. Though Jaws 2,3, an 4 pretty much suck compared to the first.

Definitely agree with the last part tho, Jaws is a classic, IMO they shouldn't have turned it into a franchise (but I guess then they wouldn't have made enough money for their solid gold swimming pools)

The original JAWS (1975) is a must have classic.DEEP BLUE SEA (1999) was also very good.

Almost all other shark films are lacking in quality and stories. JAWS 2, JAWS 3, and

JAWS: The Revenge were all fair at best; after the original JAWS was released, many other vicious man eating shark films followed. DEEP BLUE SEA actually had good graphics, pretty good story, decent actors, and the director did pretty well too. Nice collection of shark films though.

Of course Jaws 1 & 2 are at the top of the list but I think Deep Blue Sea was a great addition to shark movies. One of the best I've seen since Jaws. At least some of the shark animatronics were awesome!

Oh, one more thing. Has anyone who watched Shark Attack 3 noticed they stole most special effects from other films? for example, remember when the girl shoots the baby shark and blood goes all over the walls in the boat? that was from the film, Shark zone. And also, in shark attack 2, it showed the shark swimming threw with his mouth open. All they did was make in a green screen, inlarged it, and made the guy jet ski threw it. What a piece of crap.

Deep blue sea being in the top five, fair enough. But Open Water? I almost fell asleep through the film. They shouldn't have made any more Jaws films after Jaws 2 which was alright. Jaws 3-D is ridiculous as is Jaws: The Revenge...Whoever thought up the idea to have a roaring shark should've been slapped about the head, with the mechanic shark.

4. My favorite sharks movie outside of the first two Jaws was a movie I saw in the early 80s called "Jaws of Death". You had a man that had a talisman that made him control sharks. everytime someone was hunting sharks, he would kill them. like a Punisher for the fishs. lol pretty solid b genre movie

Its amazing how Jaws is the one of the oldest shark movies and its the shark movie with the best special effects. I just saw Shark Attack 3 and it was the cheasiest piece of crap i have ever seen. Not one part in that movie i was scared. When i saw Jaws, it scared me alot. But it was the first time i watched it though. The special effects are great in that film.

They had scenes and dialog from JAWS, JAWS 2 and JAWS 3D as well as Jurassic Park which was sick. The producers and director should be shot - unfortunately i cant remember the title of that movie

Jaws horrified a generation. Deep Blue Sea was good but on entertainment value, not a scare factor. There is an actual psychological condition now where a person who approaches or thinks about entering the water has the theme to Jaws start playing in their head. Deep Blue Sea had nowhere near that effect.

This has been said a whole bunch of times but partly why Jaws is so great is how less you see of the shark itself. Mind games work. Jaws scared a whole generation to "Get out of the water!" In Deep Blue Sea those sharks are CGI'd and there's cut scenes to the sharks just cruising around lol. I liked Deep Blue Sea but the realism factor wasn't there as much as Jaws. Until the shark leaps onto the boat in Jaws you could very well think you were watching a documentary. They did use real shark foot

@Boogiesmile Dude are you high? The shark from jaws looked more real then any of the sharks they made for its sequels. Hell, in a way it looked more real then Deep Blue Sea's cgi sharks. The model from Jaws so obviously fake to the people who saw it for the 1st time. As opposed to Deep Blue Sea. It was obvious ANY time that computer animated sharks were on the screen.

Jaws 1,2 and yes 3 were pretty good. I saw 3 when I was 10yrs old, at the movie theater. It was the 1st 3d I had ever seen. It still runs with the original storyline. Not as goos as 1,but almost as good as 2. The final one were they stab the shark with the sailship is rediculous.
