  • The country music fans nextdoor started bothering us, & have become more & more aggressive, prowling around inside our house at night. Once we woke up to our child screaming. She said she'd woken up & found one of them gnawing on her teddy bear. Now we keep the bedroom doors locked at night, with pepper spray handy. We can hear them moving around the house, knocking things over & making those guttural sounds they make when theyre angry. We just lie still & hope daylight comes quickly.

  • Dodge swinger 1973

  • Best song to get stoned to ever. Even when sober this is still a masterpiece that manages to create the illusion of being high :D

  • a catching song, that brings great atmosphere...and great dezibels!

  • About 40 years ago, this would have been heavy metal.

  • @TheHappyFaceBoxMan Kind of, the vocals don't fit.

  • @PisauraXTX

    Acid rock then?

  • @TheHappyFaceBoxMan I don't think there was anything like Earth 40 years ago, and there won't be anything like Earth in 40 years.

  • @PisauraXTX I'm pretty sure the members of Earth are immortal

  • @mashui99 didnt do kurt cobain much good...

  • I could really do without the vocals.

  • @aWorldCitizen9

i could really do without you.

  • As near to the perfect band as you can get, i remember listening to earth 2 in 91/92 and it changing my perception of music from nothing but grindcore and death metal to exploring sounds and tones, awsome life changing band much respect to Dylan and co.

    Doom or be Doomed.

  • @TheDoomwizard You listened Earth 2 even before it was released?

Maybe you were on a drug trip and had a premonition?

  • @Choriextremo Earth 2 was relesed febuary of 93 and extra capsular extraction came out in 1991.

  • these guys must use heavy drugs for sure... (cocaine/heroin)

    anyway, awesome song.

  • @ProjectZeus just look at the lyrics.

  • @TheSpartanforce

Dylan Carlson was a heavy heroin user for a while. Believe he was the guy who even introduced a one Mr. Kurt Cobain to heroin too. And bought his shotgun.

  • @TheSpartanforce They were stoned as hell, belive it, i am LOL

  • this is no-doubt one of the most "chill" songs i've ever listened to. it sucks i don't like much of their other songs but this is some old school

  • not bad at all

  • What kind of a world do we live in if we have to remind people who are those people...

  • @Squeglee You know thats not the deal of the tune, you better blame the TV Channels... Now imagine and feel his ambient, the atmosphere of his black winter night. Lonely in a dark doom small city anywhere in the USA, sitted in a couch, no perspective of future, nothing to dream about. He only shot cocaine and watch random non-childish things in television. Imagine how dark it is.

  • the 4 people who disliked this are josef bobbels, heimlich himmler, rudolph hess, and hermann goring

  • Josef Boebbels, Heimlich Himmler, Rudolph Hess, and Hermann Goring were all parts of the Nazi Party.

  • Earth>Nirvana

  • The 4 people who disliked this don't know how to let music take them on a magical fucking adventure of resting on a recliner with the headphones on, staring up at the ceiling and thinking "life is good."

  • @MSY ...with a toy chimp called morris dracula who wears a bow tie on you shoulder like your fuckin best friend...

  • I was listening to some Argentine 70s rock the other day, and I noticed a riff that sounds remarkably like this song (although it's the other way around). David Lebon's "Dos edificios dorados" from 1973, to anybody who's interested (just search for it on this site, it's available).

  • @potupchik Interesting! Rhythms are similar.

  • @potupchik That´s pretty much about the Argentinian bands were doing during the 70´s; they were were greatly influenced by bands like The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, Black Sabbath, Steppenwolf (and some other bands and/or artists were influenced by cult bands like Budgie, Ricardo Iorio-former V8 and HERMETICA bassist/singer/composer, actually singing and composing for ALMAFUERTE), etc...I mean: they were driven by "all that fuzz" xD and they did great things too! (...)

  • @potupchik (...) I am honored to know that someone who was born in which "everything started, " Rock music performed in such a remote place like Argentina these vibrations can be perceived in the commitment and effort that our musicians have always, even in my own country are often not recognized...

May the Gods be with you...and thanks for the excitement that unwittingly have awakened in me ... = ') from Argentina, my best wishes!

  • This is so good......... I remember I used to find bands like Earth,Pelican and stuff like that very boring but now I think you cant die without listening to em........... This kind of sludgy doom/drone/stoner and that stuff is really addictive.......

  • if you guys didnt know the song high command by earth is REALLY good

  • @KurtCobaked yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

  • if you guys didnt know the frontman of this bamd was best friends with cobain just so you know if you didnt know

  • @petsBenham

    we knew.

  • i think i have just found the perfect genre for me!

  • this is perfect to chill

  • I think this song is about doing drugs... going out on a limb here

  • Earth can never do wrong in my eyes, and personally I think this album deserves as much credit as all their other stuff. And I also think that the vocals help add to the hypnotic, cloudy feeling. Nothing wrong with introducing something new too, one of my favourite tracks from Pentastar.

  • IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS, YOU ARE NOT FROM THIS "EARTH"

  • This is not the Drone band I remember.

  • Yeah this album was not quite them. Bees Made Honey was pretty damn good though.

  • This is my least favorite earth album. It just doesn't sound like them.

  • @potheadonprobation it's a bit different than others, but it's still great though.

  • @AbramelinBG

I guess I only like country earth, like Hex and TBMHITLS.

  • DIE DIE DIE

  • DIE DEEP AT NIGHT

  • @Multibjarne i here ya man......either that or driving around the slums of detroit in a old nova windows rolled down and a cig in my mouth. just driving...........slow, but driving

  • Comment removed

  • I picture myself driving in the desert with this song on the speakers.. Awesome upload man

  • Oh man! This is just great!

  • @EelChupacabra I concur, this is great. someone I know said he thought the cover was bad though. I like it personally.

  • We made a cover of this song and "Tallahassee" with my band: Pentastar

  • So fucking lazy, with a slight touch of "I don't give a fuck about anything"

  • Cool, I was thinking of getting the Earthquaker Devices Hoof Fuzz, apparently modeled off the Sovtek Muff, just with an AC adapter. Thanks

  • Does anyone know what amp or effects Dylan may have used? I know Sunn amps, but which model would get a nice fuzz like this? thanks.

  • Areskelian's account got fucking closed..

he had alot of Earth's songs..on his account...goddamn i'm pissed..i got my Earth fix on his videos :(

  • This is probly my favorite song off this record. killer fucking band.

  • this band is noise

  • -Bones are feeling sleazy Head spinning around Spend the night with Josef Goebbels Think I'm coming down -Life isn't easy Thru having fun Spent the night with Heimlich Himmler Think I'm on the run -Always done the best of everything around flew the plane for Rudolph Hess I've landed upside down -Always have to have something in my head Shot cocaine with Hermann Gring now I wish I was dead
  • what is the meaning???

  • nazi drugged??!

    lol

  • maybe you shouldn't analyze the lyrics and instead just..... listen....

I not trying to sound condescending..but you know?..try not to put emphasis on the words but more on the sound...sometimes artists usually put non-sensical meaning in their words..maybe it has meaning but it might not be that direct...

  • Comment removed

  • it just drags on, each note wrenchin the next 1 that little bit further...

    I LOVE IT

  • its just like despair how everything negative drags on... i love doom/drone!

  • yeh man, i get what u mean, but iv gotta say this is more of a happy song in a way, it puts me in a good mood anyways

  • i agree and thats the Stoner part :]

  • This sounds like Country Music mixed with drone. Sounds pretty good.

  • Love that riff...

  • Holy fuck,This is awesome!

    :O

  • itunes has it

  • search in filestube

  • Buy it.

Artists need fan support. If you're going to be a fan help them keep going. That applies for all bands.

  • Actually i think the main income source for artists nowadays are concerts, not record sale. I believe artists only earn like 5% of the price of the record.

But all of this may be wrong:P

Epic song from an epic band, though!

  • @PaulyPlz And if you have the occasion buy your records directly from the band at live shows, because they earn peanuts when you buy their record in a store.

  • What`s the name of the best Earth lp? Where to start? :) Peace

  • Hey man, I would start with "Phase 3: Thrones and Dominions" or "Pentastar: In the Style of Demons". Although, every Earth record is amazing.

  • Word

  • Only complaint I have for this album is that the vocals are a bit too down in the mix. Other than that, great album. One of my favorite Earth records :]

  • I like the way the vocals are mixed it gives it a stronger feeling of drone and doesn't demand focus like they can if they're too loud. It gives the music a better feel, excellent chilling out music (especially when shared with others with a spliff)

  • @Areskelian vocals suck to begin with, in general. vocals in music are awful

  • @ConiferTreez: ah come on. If Aretha Franklin was singing this it would be a masterpiece.

  • I don't deny how great Dylan/Earth is but I think the MELVINS should get more credit for the Doom-drone thing. MELVINS were sludging around quite a few years before the first Earth record.

  • Nice 'Cuda.

  • please post INTRODUCTION! :)

  • i'm starting to upload earth songs on my channel check it out

  • This is THE Earth.

  • not bad. Came in with the bar low but have to say I was wrong. (Can't really make out what they're singing, though.)

  • Perfect song to listen to when recovering from late nights of the work variety (and their new stuff is perfect for recovering from late nights of the fun variety) Some fucking band.

  • Badass song

  • Superior song. I just ordered this album a few days ago.

  • 'Pentastar: In The Style Of Demons'

  • Their new album just came out.

  • This isn't maybe THE best Earth, but its still fantastic.

  • its the best alongside coda maestro in f minor and tallahasee

  • Love this album....lyrics are out there man!

  • you forgot about this??...dummy

  • saw them live 2 days ago!one of the best concerts i've ever been to!carlson surrounded some awsome musicians round him...fuckin great band!

  • This is Dylan Carlsons band, he was Kurt Cobains best friend.

  • Fuzzed out grungy sludgy haunting soulful slow rifftastic bliss. Pure Awesome.

  • 90s are the best.

  • why

  • earth not moon
