I love TC's assertion that we can observe God indirectly through miracles like we do black holes through it's interactions with other objects.

Last I checked, a Bronze Age miracle consisted of hordes of corpses rising from the dead, or lepers being completely and spontaneously healed. What are contemporary examples given? An animal being born 9 months after natural processes of sexual reproduction and gestation; All-but-one dying in catastrophes.

Shawn VFX perhaps does (as one Youtuber pointed out in response to a comment of mine on another video) perhaps have the brainpower to grasp facts, if he were willing to do so, and not blinded by his religious delusions. However, TruthfulChristian and Wordprophet don't even seem to have the basic candlepower in their brains to deal with reality, even if they wanted to!

not evolution related: but i'm confused how gas 'can start spining'. PV=NRT. the dust statement seems feasible because gas is a much higher energy state where a 'systems' particles must have already coagulated out in. in energy: solid<liquid<gas<plasma. either gravity pulled the particles to begin spining in the system long before there was a heated center, or it was hotter. and the large globs which came out (eventually) gas must have been either plasma (gluons) or solid... how could it be gas?

You know, I read recently that the model of the Universe that we have now can't explain how gas giants formed so far out from the sun. The model predicts that they would have formed closer to the sun. However, science will catch up and explain it eventually(hopefully in my lifetime, I wanna know!) I miss the bit where fake explanation > unknown...

@happysplodie If the gas giants were closer the sun, they would evaporate. That's why Earth can hold on to hydrogen gas for very long. I think what you are thinking of is the mystery of the ice giants, Uranus and Neptune. While their high ice content is expected, other aspects of their make up suggests that they began their formation between Jupiter and Saturn before being pushed by the large planets into their current orbits.

@JRChadwick I'm not sure exactly. It's one of those 'flipping on TV, find science channel' quotes. About the formation of the outer planets. It may have been the ice giants. But I remember Jupiter being where it's supposed to be, and Uranus and Neptune being out of place. It is where I learned that Uranus may spin funny cause of an impact event... In any case good stuff.

Don't bother with TC. In one of his videos he just directly quoted stuff from a creatonist website (and not just for the "evidence" against evolution but also for his arguments for god). You can almost hear it from his voice that he's just reading from a paper or a website. i wouldn't be surprised if all of his videos etc. followed the same pattern.

If he can't present an argument using his own words and thoughts, well... what can I say to that...

@redlion7277 Good question. There is a margin given. That's why we aren't usually given an age with more than two significant figures. When do we start the clock? When the mass of material became spherical? When the crust began to solidify? When it cleared it's orbit? I'm not qualified to give the answer, but the difference between those times is less than 100,000,000 years.
