  • That is probably independent service mode.

  • it's independent so people don't fight for the view. we can see a lot of Atlanta from there.

  • Interestingly enough, these elevators were originally Armor. I know this because I stayed in the apartment building next door with family and tried to ride this elevator to no avail

  • I believe that is Indepentent Service due to the fact that the elevator doors opened when it arrived at a floor. They are supposed to stay shut. Ind. Service usually will have you hold the door close to shut the doors. Just to tell you. (Yes I realise this video was taken a long time ago...)

  • Independent service mode...

  • Are the others elevators Silent or do they buzz?

  • Wasnt this a Sheraton at one point?.

  • So are the other elevators glass like that one?

  • Independent Service

  • are those cars pressurized / or do your ears pop a lot?

  • I love those classic buttons, don't you

  • That was a nice find. You have people who don't know how to work elevators in modes the elevator can be set to, so they have no fun, while we all know all lot about elevators, and can a lot of fun!!!

  • nice video ive been to atlanta and stood right next to that hotel

  • This is one of the first times that I have heard elevator music, ACTUALLY in an elevator!

  • Its funny they were playing the same song as they were in my video @ the W. Check it out!

  • I went to a W today. Fort Lauderdale Beach. They had annoying music in their elevators and the were Thyssenkrupp also. I will be posting the video within the next few days.

  • My Cousin Lives In Flowery Branch, GA.

  • so if its in operator's mode to make it close all i have to do is hold the door close button?

  • Independent Service, otherwise it would not have opened when it arrived at a floor.

  • Why are the scenic elevator not talking & not comeing in pressing on cell button??

  • Because it's in operator mode.

  • Comment removed

  • @musicfreakcc Independent service.

  • what is the first song played when he steps into the elevator and when talks a ride down

  • I want to know this too.

  • After about an hour I figured it out. The song is "Things Have Changed" by Mattafix.

  • elevator music isn't as common as it used to be. They actually stopped using it because it became "too related to elevators" and defeated the purpose of soothing people's nerves while riding.

  • when in fire mode all floor unlock

  • NO 13

  • There is no 13th floor in buildings you

  • That's what I talked about to suzzex (Daniel)!

    --Tracy

  • thats weird how its In fire mode must be testing and I heard you can turn that switch with ur fingers anyways happy halloween

  • You can't - it uses a key.

  • it seems 27 would have been locked off due to the key card reader so you got lucky

  • 27 is a ballroom, which is not protected by keycard.

  • If the elevator is in fire service, all floors that are normally locked become active.

  • It was on the 27th.

  • Firefighters must of forgotten to turn the key to the hold postion.

  • Another building with no 4th floor.

  • soothing music for the firefighters who are using the elevator to help people :D

  • does this elevator have a call button?

  • The hard rock hotels have the best elevator music. Their music is inescapable they have it in the elevators, hallways, lobby, pool area, underwater speakers in the pool, you name it.

  • Was there actual music in the elevator?

  • Yes, of course!

  • why did the doors automatically open if it was in fire service mode?

  • No clue - it was on 27 the whole time - from when I got there till after I left.

  • I think it was actually in independent service mode. The firefighters' operation panel was left open, though.

  • Mabye they were already open ya Idiot!

  • why was it in fire service mode?

  • thanks for the video response!

  • FUN.

  • Oh yes - one of the best elevators in the city.

  • Were there 2 scenic elevators?

  • No - just one.

  • How come this elevator doesn't serve the floor below the lobby?

  • I don't know.

  • Thats awesome that you were able to figure that out and take it for a ride. NICE vid.

  • Thanks. I also got to ride an elevator at the Westin while in independent service mode, too.

  • I wonder why it was on firefighter's operation, or if it was in down peak (Top floor) mode.

  • Actually, it was independent service mode.

  • Ohhh.

  • what is independant service mode?

  • Where the car only responds to commands from the control panel. Many observation deck elevators run in this mode.

  • Nice view. First view & comment =)
