I would say that this is the beach where "The Beach" with Leonardo DiCaprio. I can say I was there, and it really is absolutetly amazing. This is nature at its best. I wouldn't be able to describe the feelings I had, but it truly was a beautiful experience. The Time I was there (In 2006 or so I think?), it was not that bad with the amount of people. I could stand it =)

@kayhan05 ..lucky you! let me tell you that this beach was chose in a short list of five in a poll by a well known travel magazine , during a selection of the best five beaches of the planet in year 2000. Plus, Coke shot the very famous commercial with the elephant swimming underwater, and last was the location for the movie "the beach"....it's hard to believe this place as "piece of shit"......if you want to post one of yours here you can do it.

@FerryTrance it's cheaper than western europe yes!!! yes i got a hostel for 250 bhat a night (12 bed dorm) when u get off ferry u have to be quick because the rooms are snapped up. I was chilling, so everywhere was fully booked (in my price range) but i'd have been happy sleeping on the beach tbh. Thailand is cheap, depends what your comparing it to.
It looks amazing but I wouldn't want to go there now, the whole reason it´s so incredible in the beach is because there is no one else there. Something tells me it wouldn't be that way now in which case it would just depress me to quote the very bane of the island "the big chunky-charlies of the world" have been and done their damage.
@bizarrefruit you can have no one else there, if you stay over for a night or two in a tent (very cheap)... You'd be very surprised, it's still as beautiful as it looks in the film. I expected rubbish and pollution, but it was stunning, a real paradise... little fishes swimming around your ankles and a great jungle, maybe in 20 years the tourist trap would take it's toll, but for now, go see it :)
@chu1111111 As enjoyable as that may seem for you beach security will arrest you and you will go to the monkey house for awhile. Not good to do any type of drug in Thailand. Even the natural like herb will get you some time in the clink. Trust me on this one my friend.

unfortunately it doesn't really look like this anymore, and that's because of millions of scumbags like me who went there because they saw it in some stupid american movie...
I went there in December 07 and it was really a waste of time. Me and a mate rowed there from PP don and within about 20minutes it turned into a circus with about 2-300 ppl.
Went back in August 09, awesome... Really makes a difference when you go, only about half a dozen people on the beach, paradise...
ah i've been there, although i had to climb through a hole in the cliff to get there :) well worth it, although i did cut my foot on some coral climbing through which later got infected but it was well worth it to go to that amazing beach!!
I remember that intense color on the water, and the way the air and water were the same temperature, like liquid sunlight, and how creamy the sand was between my toes.
It is not illegal to go there. There are many tours from Phuket and in the begining of the "season(Sept-Okt)" is really affordable. I am going again in 3 weeks, and it is really not expencive now... Live your dream... :o) !
