  • Helio didn't tap though, Carlos threw in the towel

  • kimura brokeGRANDMASTERS HELIOS GRACIES arm!..and kimura didnt call himself grandmaster lmaof

  • Woah, was that little Ryron at 7:20???

  • At 3:07 When Rener is like "come on guys get the kids lets go" I lol'd so hard.

  • jiu-jitsu ftw!!!!!!

  • Who is the guy teaching with rorion, is he a gracie?

  • @k00lkane yes, his name is Hener

  • @poopinmeundies its rener nut you got the right pronunciation

  • @contestboy but*

  • @contestboy ya, i know it his name started with an r, i just typed it phonetically on accident instinctively, chill with the name calling.

  • @poopinmeundies sorry bro i didnt mean to type in nut, i meant "but" like, "but you got the pronunciation right" sorry for the misunderstanding.

  • thumbs up if you think Rorion looks better with a moustache

  • Great video about a great family

  • I Love Jiu Jitsu! Keep it real.

  • lol its funny how he is talkin about not using strenth while he is usin a lifting takedown, not a trip which is no strenght and than a kimura which to many ppl is a strength submission lol

  • @randywilliams1234 You should learn some Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to see how those techniques are applied WITHOUT strength--you'll be amazed at how wrong you were

  • @JJI6881 the kimura will be and always will be a big man move, bjj is all about the little guy, which i am, and i been doing it for two years and know what is good and what is not as usful to me. And i am pretty sure learning from Renzo Gracie is better than they typical gracie curriculum.

  • Oh come on... I was SOOOOO watching this...My husband and son both do this but what about if I am at the park with the kids..... Show the move.. ;P............;)

  • Gracie jiu jitsu is judo newaza!

  • @judorican973 And Judo is a modified version of Japanese JuJutsu. What is your point?

  • @judorican973 Judo newaza doesn't allow ankle, knee, torso, wrist or shoulder attacks-Judo only allows elbow locks and chokes. From the Japanese Ju Jitsu I do, submissions are only a part of the equation-not the be-all end-all

  • @judorican973 Newaza improved so that everyone can use it and make it work

  • my friend is kira gracie's brother, watch my video xD

  • The most arrogant and over-rated people in martial arts.

  • @Super8astard its just you who dont like them. loser

  • @josh1212121 no, it's most of the world. Including Brazil.

  • Sakuraba was one guy who showed the Cocky Gracies that they can be beaten at their own game. I love BJJ, it has changed my life in the past 5 years of training it. I am now a purple belt but BJJ is by no means perfect. Every single martial art has weaknesses. If you're going against someone who has no idea what BJJ is in the street, you'd win every time if you force him to play your game. But BJJ alone in an MMA fight won't get you anywhere TODAY.

  • RORION RIPPED OFF THE REST OF THE FAMILY OF COUSINS BY PATENTING THE NAME GRACIE JIU-JITSU. CARLOS GRACIE WHO TAUGHT HELIO GRACIE IS THE FOUNDER OF GRACIE JIU-JITSU AND NOT HELIO. HE DIDN'T TEACH HELIO UNTIL YEARS LATER. HELIO TAKES CREDIT BECAUSE HE ADDED SOME MOVES, WELL ROLLS ADDED THE WRESTLING PART, AND MANY OTHERS CONTRIBUTED TOO, THE SYSTEM IT'SELF IS STRICTLY JIU-JITSU IN REALITY THERE ARE NOT MANY DIFFERENCE EXCEPT FOR SOME MOVEMENT ON THE GROUND, THE STAND UP IS ALL ORIGINAL JIU-JITSU!

  • @vincespell So, I guess you were there watching Helio get taught. I think you should have hit replay instead of the keyboard. It's angry and shouting now.

  • @vincespell Actually, Helio IS the founder of the Gracie Jiu Jitsu system. Carlos was taught the original Japanese Jiu Jitsu, and Helio, being a frail and weak boy, had to sit out. From this, he created his OWN system of jiu jitsu, based on leverage, speed, and technique. THAT is Gracie Jiu Jitsu.

Actually, there are VAST differences between Japanese Jiu Jitsu, and Brazilian (Gracie) Jiu Jitsu.

Lay off the caps there bub. It doesn't make you seem louder. Just makes you look like a kid.

  • @SnareBuff I thought Carlos was taught Judo wasn't he? I thought Gracie Ju Jitsu was based off of Judo?

  • @ronki23 From my knowledge, Ju Jitsu was the art the samurai practiced, and judo became the sportive version of it. The traditional Japanese Ju Jitsu was taught to Carlos Gracie who then began teaching it. Gracie Jiu Jitsu is Helio's revamping of the old system to use technique and leverage over strength and speed.

  • royce gracie is the man . legend

  • Wonder if the room would implode if Sakuraba walked in

  • this family shd be on tv instead of those stupid kardashians

  • Gracie Jiu Jitsu is my life!!!!!

  • I always thought the Brazilians had some Japanese in them , look at lyoto machida's dad, Japanese all the way. I dont deny brazillians or gracie perfected JJ

  • @seinfeld11123 except is was judo they were taught, not JJ, and they didn't perfect it, they made it worse.

  • WOW, great..

  • freddie mercury!!!

  • Would I be wrong to say that Helio Gracie was the Bruce Lee of grappling and one of the fathers of MMA?

  • @tasneefm Absolutely not. But why not say that Bruce Lee was the Helio of striking? ;)

  • @clipophile touche.

  • Meet the Gracie Hunter

  • RESPECT HELIO. LOVE FOREVER

  • @SuperBluepurple shotokan focuses on semi contact.......

  • Rener is on a 24/7 comedy mode.

  • Even i would of accepted the challenge from helio gracie for 10,000 of whatever currency it was. He had both arms tied behind his back. The guy may of introduced us to gracie jiu jitsu. But im not aware of any technique that benefits to having no arms at the ready. He would of beat me easy but for a skilled grappler back not maybe not so.

  • red belt wow

  • Finally, thirteen minutes into the bout, Kimura positioned himself to apply a reverse ude garami (arm entanglement, a shoulderlock). Gracie refused to submit despite his arm being broken. At this point, Carlos Gracie interrupted the match because he knew that his brother would not submit. In 1994, Gracie admitted in an interview that he had in fact been choked unconscious earlier in the match, but had regained consciousness when Kimura released the shoke

  • Everyone says kimura beat helio, none of them won that was a visual effect, Chuck norris secretly choked them both out and roundhouse kicked them in the face when they got up.

  • KIMURA KICKED HELIOS ASS BROKE HIS ARMS AND THREW HIM AROUND LIKE A RAG DOLL KIMURA RULES!!!!

  • @luizinho81 The fight was thirteen minutes long, If Kimura was really good he would have beat Helio in the first few minutes of the fight. KIMURA SUCKS

    HELIO GRACIE RULES!!!1

  • @luizinho81 I'm glad you acknowledge that. So many BJJ fan boys try to say the Gracie's invented every grappling move. There's not one original move in BJJ, it all comes from judo/traditional jujitsu. I always ask them to show me a move in bjj thats not in judo or jujitsu and they can't because there aren't any.

  • why are they so obsessed with the kidnapping of kids haha

  • @enime because its worse then having your life on the line, your own children being in danger is the worst feeling you can think of. That is if you're a decent person that cares for your kids.

  • ah snap! every time i go to the park, someones always trying to kidnap my kids!! i must learn gracie jui jitsu

  • R.I.P. Helio... but i belive you didn't understand a freking word there you talented bastard :P

  • Gracies are epic

  • Mr. Helio Gracie looks like Clint Eastwood.

  • @ccrcountry I think if they ever made a biographical movie of the Gracies, maybe Clint Eastwood should play Helio!

  • @9Rayvik9 That would be awesome!

  • Respect to the Gracie Family.

  • i love the gracies

  • I just got my blue belt at the Gracie Academy and participated in their lessons. Greatest experience of my life. Everyone who lives in Torrance, CA are lucky to have that academy there.

  • You are lucky to live in Torrance and get the opportunity to train at the Gracie Academy. I live way closer to a Gracie Barra school and signed up with the Gracie Barra instead. You're right! Going to a Gracie school is a great experience!

  • I used to think that they were dishonorable for not letting the guy go the instant they tapped but I learned over time that this was a time that people didnt want to admit they tapped because they were so supprised at the submission theirselves and wasnt sure they were defeated. They didnt recognize the technique or it came on them for so quick that they only tapped because of desperation. This desperation was well called for because they were about to be damaged.

  • no one would fight him with both hands behind his back thats nuts

  • i already learned what to do if someone has u on a full mount, i love this art

  • r.i.p. helio gracie !!

  • @yunuscuk and Ryan!

  • What is absolutely not sympathetic to me that Royce didn't release their enemies after the bell a lot of times.

  • You don't know the REASONS.

    1. Royce vs. Gerard Gordeau - Gerard Bit Royce (which was illegal), so Royce held on for him. You can see him talk about it saying (You know what you did)

    2. Royce vs Ken Shamrock - Shamrock tapped royce, royce let go..ref didn't see and almost let the fight continue when Ken lied.

So royce said..he won't let go of anymore submissions till the REF..stops it. Which is exactly how it works today ever since.

  • he wants to guarantee that the ref sees it.

  • 5 hotdogs

  • the gracie family is top shelf!

  • Thank Heilo for creating this wonderful art.

  • sunfist you idiot.... jiu jitsu is a self defense oriented art.... designed for someone smaller in mass to defeat a larger opponent.... in a street fight.... the fight will go to the ground.... but do you know what to do once you get there? go learn something before you talk you ignorant fuck.... take me to the ground in a fight and be sure to have 2 broken elbows, shoulders, arms when you wake up after i choke you out.... me on my back is like askin for trouble....

  • hmmm, angel4rmhell, you don't show yourself respect. does sunfist effect your life? i sure hope not. relax.

  • i agree man. i wonder why people will not accept that most fights go to the ground.

  • @yomtumthai2

    cause its been proven wrong

  • Royce said it best, "for the HONOR of the FAMILY"

We should all strive to live in a honorable way

    GRACIE FOREVER!!!!!

  • i swear theres like 50 billion of em!

  • great post, thanks!!

  • In every Gracie legend there is a Stain of a loss from a Japanese.

  • shouldn't Sakuraba be there too, alongside the gracie brothers

  • Where's the shame in losing to Him? Either of them would end your life before you scream like a girl Oh By the way,do your research, Sakuraba trained in GJJ to learn to defend against it.

  • @yeee941 Sakuraba trained in Gracie jujutsu to defend against it? Ok but I could say the Gracie Trained in Japanese Judo/jujutsu to make there style.

Without the Japanese there is no jujutsu period.

And without the Gracies there would be no "innovated ground grappling" either. no shame to any of them nations.

  • @Sunfist85 hahaahaaaa

  • @Sunfist85 No

  • @Sunfist85 no... he shouldnt

  • great video, thanks

  • Man wat a tribute with infinite smilez on me =)

  • Truly an Amazing Family

  • 3:54 at the beach with a soda... LMAO goes to take a hit of the imaginary doob

  • I wish I grew up in the gracie family, ahha

  • @SkyLimitProductions join a gb school

and u will become part of the family

  • Being a Gracie in America seems awesome but i wouldn't say the same in Brazil.

  • @joaoluizsn

    Why?

  • I hear many of them are have troubled lifes, and get involved on fights.

  • Comment removed

  • brazuca777 please lick a dick...

    your an idiot

  • i wonder why....maybe cause if they let some one in that doesnt know brazilian/ gracie jujitsu and he ends up raping them all then the fraud that brazil/bracie jujitsu is he best would come down in addition to no one being able to say 'well he knows what we invented so our jujitsu is still the best'

  • @TENNSUMITSUMA

Dont worry these bandwagon hoppers jump on anything thats "cool" today lol. BJJ is nothing more then Judo newaza and its historically true. Maeda sensei only studied Judo n Sumo then taught the gracies. Jujutsu was just a generic name for all japanese grappling like how Kung fu is generic for CMA's but it was really kodokan Judo that was taught. Gracie jujutsu isnt the best, they just market there BS well. Lets not forget helio and Royce lost to Judo Champions too. lol

  • @anhkhoinguyen

nice to see one less brain washed nut hugger out there

  • @anhkhoinguyen true thats the truth.

  • i love the gracie name the gracie jiu jitsu name remians undefeated on mix martial arts... from now on i hold a black belt for the brazilian jiu jitsu company.. i trained hard to hold the black belt... thank you hello gracie the grand master of the brazilian jiu jitsu.... peace... im a filipino

  • Royce Gracie vs Matt Hughs was a good fight wasnt it?

  • BWAH HA HA HA HAA

  • Didnt Matt Hughes lose against the same nobody 3 times in his career? Royce was way passed his prime when he fought Hughes!

  • No he didnt he lost to GSP twice (considerd the best in that weight devision and one of the top 3 p4p fighters) & dennis hallman twice when there was 2 weight classes over 200lbs & under 200lbs.

Hughs was past it too your comment like the person I responded too shows little knowlage on the matter.

  • Its Hughes not Hughs! But its dumb to bring up Matt Hughes in this conversation because like I said, he was waaay passed his prime. Its like talking about Liddell and his last 4/5 losses. It doesnt diminish what the Iceman did, it just means that he was done with professional fighting already!

  • you are an idiot if you honestly believe what you just wrote

  • Instead of arguing about who created what, why don't you acknowledge the fact that almost all grappling styles utilize similar techniques with some variations because that is what works! Every style is changed and modified from another and this is a good thing! We should not want to be pinned down by the dogma and tradition that has crippled other martial arts.

  • ok then by your 'logic' since were not going to argue over who made what......i made jujitsu not the gay ass gracies or the great japanese people but me so every one bow down, sweat my nuts, and pay me money

  • I have Never met Helio,But my Instructor has met with him (Pictures) and My instructor revieved a 2nd degree Black Belt Under Royce Gracie. So,i feel in some small way,I am learning Helios teachings.

  • Someone farted at 3:57 I think he tried too hard rofl listen for yourself!

  • I SEE THIS GUY IN EVERY gjj VIDEO. WHATS HIS NAME? 1:02

  • Rorion gracie cuz. Son of grandmaster helio gracie at the start of the video

  • he's the reason i do Jiu Jitsu. i saw the videos of Royce and Rickson fighting other martial arts and Rorion narrated. and his "logic" of size and technique over strength and speed made me sign up for jiu jitsu the next day.

  • so you 'sign up for jiu jitsu the next day' yet you dont know who that was at 1:02 ....Oo ok...

  • helio has such a crazy warrior face. hes the man

  • The Gracie family is awesome!!!

  • That little Kid Royce pats on the head is that Ryron or Rener?

  • I can't believe the ignorance of some of you here...the Gracies family like them or not developed a fighting system that works.

As for the statement by SHKOIACH, yes there are no GRACIES competing the UFC because the rules don't favor the grappler. If you reinstat the no time limit/stand up rule, the striker doesn't have the option to wait it out but continue.

    Its Chess not Checkers.

Stop being haters...how many of you keyboard warriors actually train in any form of martial arts?

  • Yes, it seems as if a large percent of UFC fans want to see a brawl, rather than a good mix of skills.

  • id love to see rorion chat all that shit then say, MASAHIKO KIMURA! TEH HERO OF JUDO HIS 2ND COMING IS YOSHIDA

  • I'd love to train with the Gracie's, they have such passion to teach!

  • it is awesome!! i have had the opportunity to train with carlos jr, igor, gregor, and rolles gracie. training with everyone of them was amazing.. now im just waiting for renzo to come teach a seminar!

  • hes going to teach me too in holdmel

  • What the hell are you on about speak clearly and proper

  • What did I say wrong? I attack not gracie video but that hater of bjj, this shqipy whore shqipstreetfighter! So why do u get so angry?

  • Sorry dude

  • Love the gracie fam! LEGENDS!

  • Is anyone in the Gracie family going to be in this year's UFC?

  • No. They don't like the rules - biased against jiujitsu, because striking is easier for the uneducated to understand.

  • espectacular el jui jitsu y la familia gracie, sin duda han contribuido a la propagación del jiu jitsu en el mundo entero.

  • so u have never grappled i see....you prefer to stand up and bitch slap...and you prob suck cock while on your knees...and take it in the ass while standing.....you prob do grapple...but with your mum doesn't count

  • wow, lol your bored huh? haha

  • why the fuck are people booing in the beggining

  • 2:31 why in the hell would would the guy on the bottom try 2 punch u in the face when your nuts r wide open and i dont care how much adrenaline is in u if u got nuts and get hit your going down, mount, rear choke, kimura and all. as to how fast u get up is another mater but your going down

strike 2 the groin & puncture their eye ball with your fingers is all u need as NO ONE ON THE PLANET will be able 2 withstand the pain of either much less both, not even you gracies, despite what u say. PERIOD

  • Most people are worried about getting thier face pounded on than hitting the other person in the balls. Its different when your in that situation and explain to me whats the big deal about eye shots? I know its like a extremly big deal but everyone makes it seem like thats all you need.

  • the reason is that people can withstand punches kicks knee and elbow strikes and they an resist chokes all if well trained, but no amount of training can stop the pain much less everything else if you get a finger to the eyes or a hit to the groin u cant toughen up your balls or eyes

and sometimes thats all you can do to get out of certain situations

  • True, I agree you can resist those things but like really how often do you hear someone poking someone else in the eye? I am just tired of hearing how poking someone in the eye is the god send of magic techniques that always works ya know? thank you kindly tho for your imput :D

  • sure no problem

u hardly hear of it, yes and thats the problem cause tv dosnt allow it and teachers dont teach it, and people forget but if people remember ALL the things that are at there disposal in a fight, then they would realize as i have that there is always an opposite to anything that puts u at neutral, and there is always a way out of everything no matter how bad, unless your already dead

by the way love your favorites, about to download to my computer THANK YOU

  • Thank you, I love them too haha. I see what your saying, evertything is useful in its own right and really nothing can totally outclass everything, the art of combat is just always shifting and so fast. Thank you for your replys and merry Christmas

  • you too

  • A guy on top of you in mount has much better position to rip your eyeballs out of your skull than if you are underneath him. Who is to say that just cause someone is using jiu jitsu in a street fight they can't use those same dirty tactics?

So while you are reaching up trying to get to the eyes the guy on top could have free range on your face and then armbar your stretched out arms. Lets see you use your mad street fighting skills with broken arms.

  • if you cant move your hands fast enough to reach the eyes if shes hunched over (not sitting upright) then you deserve to get your hands broken

  • if you new the art, ud know that if there not postured up in full mount, and they were "hunched" over as you would say, then they would have there chest against the face and there arms tied up, street fightinjg tactics has nothing on bjj, stop trying to say that ball hitting and eye gauging would beat it because if you know what your doing, yo are taught to look out for that

  • what the fuck are you talking about. if one persons arms are tied up then the person doing the tieing up wont have a hand to attack with. the moment the tie'ers hands arent tieing up the person on the bottom thats when the person on the bottom can strike. and you can get taught all you want to look for it dosent mean its still not goin to happen, especially when its so easy

  • When I am in a fight, there is no way I am think (hit in the balls squeez them!) Groin shots are NOT the fight stopper you think

they are. In the time it takes to guess where my balls are inside my pants,I cold snap your arm,or choke you out, when your a good grappler, you change position to fast,Do not try to sum up a Art as complex as Gracie Jiu jitsu by saying HIT TO DA BAWLZ!!. Same with eyes, the eyes are a small target to hit,and I doubt the guy will be still long enough to get hooked.

  • so you can keep fighting after your balls have been properly blasted. and dont give me that adrenaline crap cause the ppl in the ring have adrenaline sky high yet one tap and there down.

i can sum it up by saying that cause its true. and of course there is the training video by bruce lee that says the same thing. bjj/gracie jujitsu isnt as invincible as you think

  • My point was,the chance of you getting hit in the balls is low, especialy if Im moving and shifting around,or Sink a submission while you try to aim at them. No art will protect you from groin shots,I meen with your logic why even bother learning any art, since there could be a chance somone has a gun,as well as hit you in the nuts. No you have not sumed up anything, except use the same excuses to make BJJ look poor, when those excuses applie for every art.

  • dude u can get hit in the nuts in any martial art, your just upset because you don't no bjj and u were prbly beat by sumone who knows it

  • 'dude u can get hit in the nuts in any martial art'

Not as easy as you can with this gay shit

'your just upset because you don't no bjj'

I dont need this homosexual shit, I know japanese jujitsu (the real shit not some cheap imitation)

'and u were prbly beat by sumone who knows it '

Such as whom exactly, cause the 3 I went up against all got raped

  • hahaha yea ok buddy, japenese jj sucks and im sure u did lose

  • you keep telling yourself that foolishness

  • @nick16761 If it wasnt for Japanese Jujutsu there wouldnt be Gracie jujutsu you idiot. The gracies developed and refined there jujutsu by using the japanese techniques that were tested in trial and error combat. The gracie and russian sambo got lucky by building on a very old style while the japanese built it from stratch....dont forget who lost to JUDO the successor to old jujutsu and the mother of gracie jujutsu. =]

  • @anhkhoinguyen Obviously there wouldn't be you douche, i never said that bjj wasn't built on Jap JJ. It definitly was, but BJJ is way better and more efficient then Jap jj!!

  • Actually its easier to get hit in the nuts in striking..

"Such as whom exactly, cause the 3 I went up against all got raped" sounds like its a sport for you if you think its gay.

  • 'sounds like its a sport for you if you think its gay'

it is a sport like golf or table tennis, but people keep jumping on the grace/bjj/mma bandwagons nuts thinkin you can really use this in a fight for your life

  • Its seems to work for the vast majority of mma fighters in the world......
