  • omg! trying to give health care to EVERYONE!! not just children...these man men must be stopped!

  • I think uninsured children should get free health care from the goverment. I think the poor and elderyly who can't aford healthcare should get help from the goverment but should not get free healthcare

  • Name ONE THING he said that isn't a fact.

You're just another moonbat shooting your mouth off when when you don't know WTF you're talking about.

  • THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH, for holding the line against liberals in congress who want to incrementally socialize our health care system.

A government takeover of health care is NOT THE ANSWER. Just ask the people from Canada and England who TRAVEL TO THE US just to get basic care! Ask the European families who have watched LOVED ONES DIE while waiting in line for care!

SOCIALIZED MEDICINE IS NOT THE ANSWER!

  • Sadly, you don't understand that private healthcare should be added-to not replace public healthcare. If you have the means, you should be able to pay for more services but not at the expense of the rest of the population. Personaly, I prefer to wait in line like everyone else than going bankrupt in order to try to cut in front.

  • Unclelry, hope you don't use public roads when you drive, or drink or shower in water provided by PUBLIC utilities or expect to call on the fire or police dept. in an emergency. All are forms of that dreaded socialism you profess to shun. Are you a hypocrite like so many of your ilk?

  • You don't know what you're talking about. The examples you give are not socialism. Fire and police protection are legitimate responsibilities of government.

And as for roads, they're never built or fixed by government employees. The job is typically bid out to PRIVATE CONTRACTORS. Same goes for most utilities.

Just once, I'd like to meet a liberal who engages their brain before engaging the keyboard...

  • Ah, rhetoritician whyfore art thou so unskillful? Public works (water, roads fire/police) are financed by public funds. Merely labelling them "legitimate responsibilities of govt." rather clumsily sidesteps the whole issue, don't you think?

  • elfyboy:

No, it's not "sidestepping" the frickin question.

Conservatism is not about ELIMINATING the government. It is about MINIMIZING the government to those tasks that it must legitimately do, rather than MAXIMIZING it into a nanny-state Big Mother.

And use your head: WHERE the money for roads comes from has nothing to do with WHO does the job. The work is contracted out to the private sector because the free market invariably results in greater efficiency than socialism.

  • Instead of labeling everything so you can control and limit the debate, try listening to your interlocutors. It ain't about socialism versus conservatism (nebulous concepts at best), its about how we live with one another. Do we endorse a world in which self interest reigns supreme, or find ways to share the common wealth?

  • Unclerev - I DID talk with many Euros and Canadians about their system. They all say it's not perfect, yet MUCH better than ours. Most of us who actually deliver health care envy these systems. Look at your pay stub and see how much you already pay for the uninsured. Insur. CEOs get a big chunk of your pay. We pay for GWB's care. Is THAT "socialized" medicine? Think for yourself & become truly informed before you parrot such propaganda.

  • and they talk about beliving it if you repeat it you proved your case "lie"

  • I agree thank you Mr Bush for doing your job on this one. When did it become the right or the oblgation of the feds to provide the people with free healh care thats one of the real problems with we the people demanding the gov to give us everthing rather than work for it the poor do have free basic health care and are getting it so for the rest of us get off your asses and work for it!!!!!

  • Return to the constitution where the federal government protects the citizens of this country period. Not to provide medical, not to determine who can get married, anything to do with schools and commerce, not to invade other coutries, not to unfairly, unconstitutionaly tax the people for all the things it is not supposed to be doing. We need someone in the white house to resote and protect the Constitution of the United States.

  • Can someone please pass a law that bans any future shithead Texas Republicans from running for office?

    We'd all be better off.

  • Sure. It's called a Dictatorship.

The truth about you liberals is that you actually hate Democracy. The truth is, you are ELITISTS who can't stand not having your way. You would rather have a "benign dictatorship" as long as YOU are the ones in charge.

Why don't you move to Venezuela. You would love it there.

  • I gotta tell ya, reading the comments from these authoritarian conservatives littering YouTube is so depressing. What is wrong with 30% of this country- Jeez!

  • What about the ones that die because they are uninsured? The ones who travel to Canada to just get basic care?

  • First, no one here "dies because they are uninsured." Hospitals are required by law to provide critical care.

Second, no sensible person is saying that we don't have a problem. What we are saying is, let's not MAKE IT WORSE by destroying the most advanced health care system in the world. THERE ARE BETTER SOLUTIONS besides socializing health care.

Anyone who "travels to Canada" learns one thing: The system is free, but it's also a DISASTER with long waiting lines and crippling bureaucracy.

  • How ignorant it is to say NO people die because they are uninsured. Hospitals are required to provide critical care, sure, but people who are ininsured do not always know when exactly an ailment becomes critical so they may get hospital care. Some uninsured will not get treatment until it is too late, i.e. critical, to do something about it.

  • "These are the facts." No, those are your generated lies. Do these Republicans still think that by repeating certain lies over and over and over that we will believe them? How about if we get down to real issues and deal with those?

  • You mean he sent them to war without body armor?

    No, that's what Republicans do.

  • Under the Clinton Administration, the were ZERO sets of body armor. Now, under Bush, there are over a million sets. As far as up-armored Humvees under Clinton; 1300 Bush; over 26,000, not to mention the NEW mine resistant MRAPS.

Clinton left the Bush Administration a weakened military.

  • More repug bulshit. I suppose Iraq has WMD too.

    Paaashaw!

  • Not anymore, dipshit. The biggest WMD swung at the end of a rope.

  • Damn you're dumb. Saddam was contained and the only difference now between Bush and Saddam is that when your family died in Saddam-Iraq, you knew it was Saddam who did it. Now when your family dies in Iraq, you only know that it was Bush that created the hell that Iraq is now. Wow, you're a fool.

  • Funny how someone who thinks Iraq was BETTER OFF under Sadaam calls someone else a fool. The ironies never cease.

  • america values money more than human life.

  • Wow, this guy must be a Republican. I know because he is outright lying.

  • Amazing how thes nazi fundamentalist nut jobs say they care about life, but to hell with them after the children come into this world.

  • Canada managed to provide universal healthcare and 1 Canadian dollar = 1.022077 U.S. dollars. The governmental spending for the american military industrial complex is way out of control and that's a fact most don't want to face.

  • That's because Canada doesn't NEED a real military, because the U.S. does all the dirty work of protecting the free world.

Of course, you ungrateful lefty bastards just whine and rip on the U.S. rather than thanking us, while they cower safely in our shadow.

  • Canada doesn't need out-of-control military spending because we value sensable foreign policies. We gladly accepted the mission in Afganistan, but we decided to avoid the preemptive attack on Iraq because of the shady evidence of imminent threat. For more info, ask Ron Paul about his non-interventionalist foreign policiy. America can't be the world's police forever.

  • Ahh, now it all makes sense. You are a Ron Paul libertarian wacko.

  • Look. I can call someone a "moon bat" and claim to know how to argue intelligently. Hmmmmmm.

  • I don't call you a "moonbat" in order to "argue intelligently."

I call you a moonbat because it's fun. And also because you're too stupid for me to waste an intelligent argument.

My father taught me never to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed person. ;)

  • "Moonbat" oh, wow, how original! Just keep repeating whatever's the next BS catchphrase or -word that comes out of the Republican pundits' asses.

  • Thank you for your question. The answer is something called "Inflation." Bush's "increase" is less than the cost of inflation. His "increase" results in a future budget with less purchasing power than the current budget, thereby covering fewer children. This is how an increase equals a cut. Next question.

  • It's still dishonest to call it a cut.

Example: SCHIP was in effect for three years during the Clinton Administration---at a static level. According to your math, Bill Clinton "cut" SCHIP three years in a row. So much for the childish word games libs like to play...

You cry about inflation, but more money is wasted through misappropriation of funds to ADULTS in liberal states like New Jersey. If you care about kids, stop using SCHIP as a backdoor to incrementally socialize medicine.

  • I wonder what country Jesus will tell Bush to bomb next. He must have told him to veto children's health care as well. I can see why "Christians" support him, he is so "Christian-like". It must be the same Jesus that told Jim Jones to make up the kool-aid. Nutcases.

  • let the poor die,

Hey wait a minute! why let all that protein go to waste?

    ya, let's eat the poor!

Oops! Damn that Jonathan Swift and his modest proposal...

  • Swift's Premium!

  • The "facts" are irrelevant to this guy.

  • A failure to sustain Bush's by Congress would have been a Green Light to Iran to launch an all out nuclear attack on Israel. Luckily there remain enough Patriots in Congress willing to support our Commander-in-Chief and General Petraeus in their crusade against Islamofascist conquest of Homeland, as well of the the Biblical Lands of our Allies.

  • i find ur choice of the word "crusade" interesting. christians have a well documented history with crusades.

  • You're wrong there. The concept of a "crusade" is something particular to Roman Catholicism. It's not found anywhere in the bible, and in fact the bible is against the idea. You can't blame bible Christians for the crusades. Only the Vatican shares that blame.

  • Help the children, let them feed off rich politicians in washington dc as they continue to fund an illegal war based on a lie. Republicans and Democrats are the same evil.

  • You have to be kidding. Bush and his party are responsible for the largest entitlement increase in history.

SCHIP is for the poor children.

  • Why do my fellow conservatives always feel the need to cripple our cause with petty infighting rather than focusing on the real enemy?

Are you unable to grasp the point that AT LEAST HE DIDN'T EXPAND THE PROGRAM EVEN MORE---like the Democrats wanted him to do?

Can't you see that the REAL BATTLE is to confront the liberal propagandists who are promoting the OUTRAGEOUS LIE that Bush actually CUT the program? This propaganda just fuels the fires of moonbat idiocy.

  • I guess you consider childern to be childern at the age of 25 and poor as having and income of $82,000 a year. read the bill thats what they consider poor and adults yes these people have the right to free health care and I have a right to a free house and car

  • What world do you live in?

  • "Just ask the people from Canada and England who TRAVEL TO THE US just to get basic care!"

"Ask the European families who have watched LOVED ONES DIE while waiting in line for care!"

You have a great future here in Europe as a STAND-UP COMEDIAN...!!!

  • I doubt it. You "Europeans" have no sense of humor.

BTW, which part of Europe do you come from? The part whose ass we saved or the part whose ass we kicked?

  • The part that has a better healthcare system than the US.

  • Oh, you mean the part that only exists in your imagination.

Aren't you late for a UFO abduction or something?

  • What a fucking moron.

  • Yup, you all just finished seeing and hearing classic GOP talking points! But don't worry people, the Dems will have control of both the Lege and Executive Branches. It all works in cycles... about 10 years from the GOP will again be in top. It doesn't have to be that way, but it will happen.

  • Hey, if this guy keeps talking up how the child healthcare bill is for wealthy kids, the GOP are liable to sign on in droves. They never saw a handout for the rich they didn't like. :-/

Tax cuts anyone? Bridges collapsing. Wars to fight. Hurricane ravaged cities. The largest debt ever. Tax cuts anyone? No, not you, you don't make enough money to cut your taxes. These tax cuts are for the rich. Tax cuts anyone who qualifies? Tax cuts anyone who qualifies?

  • Them thats got shall get

    Them thats not shall lose

Actually, they DO want to give everyone tax cuts, but ESPECIALLY large ones for the wealthy and the corporatists.

Income inequity is now at levels not seen since the 1920s and we all know how well that worked out. But these guys would probably be against soup lines for the destitute and unemployed and instead want to give them tax breaks on their nonexistant income as a way of, "helping" the average American.

    Excuse me while I puke.

  • How the do you expect the poor to get ahead when there are NO JOBS? Do you understand what high taxation does to the economy and the job market?

Obviously, you're just a little brat who was not around during the good ol' days of the Carter administration. Your bullshit ideology HAS BEEN TRIED. It leads to massive unemployment and crippling stagflation.

Liberal policies exploit the negative human trait of CLASS ENVY and perpetuate themselves by creating a PERMANENT DEPENDENCY CLASS.

  • You ASSume much. Eisenhower was president when I was born, so obviously I WAS around for the Carter years. Explain to me what liberal policies were in place in the 1920s that led to massive unemployment and the Great Depression. No - the gilded age, unfettered free market, robber baron system was in place. It crashed and burned and took untold numbers of working Americans into the depths of poverty and despair.

  • And I suppose you could say that the American colonists were guilty of the negative human trait of class envy when they threw off the tyranny of the English monarchy instead of "knowing their place," and meekly accepting exploitation and oppression by their "betters." And widows, orphans and wounded veterans are part of that "permanent dependency class" - of course, we could let them all die of disease or starvation and solve that pesky problem.

  • Oh, I get it... You're not a clueless little brat moonbat, you're a drugged out old hippy moonbat. Please take a bath.

  • That's the best you got, kid? Please go back to the schoolyard where "nony nony boo boo" passes for intelligence. You're not ready for the big folks table yet.

  • "Liberal policies exploit the negative human trait of CLASS ENVY and perpetuate themselves by creating a PERMANENT DEPENDENCY CLASS."

Sounds just like it came right out of Dickens, doesn't it? "Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?" Or something that would come out of the mouth of an "aristocrat." You can call it class envy all you want, but I know that it is really a battle for the "common folk" to resist being beaten down into poverty and servitude.

  • It's funny how you radical leftists need to twist every ideology that doesn't match with your own into a grotesque caricature of itself, just to "feel safe" from it.

It's called a "straw man" argument, if you're familiar with logic. But of course, since you're a moonbat, you're as unfamiliar with logic as you are with a bathtub.

    Dickensian, huh? Okay, Wilkins Micawber.

  • Are you stuck in a time warp? Dirty hippies take a bath? What's next on your infantile list of schoolyard insults ... & your mama, too?

Go ahead & keep on being a Good German. If being opposed to the obvious fascist movement threatening our country makes me a "moonbat" then so be it. I'll be in the good company of my ancestors who heroically fought monarchism & fascism in the name of liberty and democracy.

Wilkins Micawber -- you're advocating debtor's prisons? No surprise there.

  • Only in America could men as ignorant as yourself, walk free.

    God Damn America!

    Now!

  • 1920s right hell of a year read "the forgotten man" and you will see how the gov. made it worse with there lib. programs they extended the crash with there programs yah we need more of them more bigger gov right

  • Private Medicine is all i want to here.

I am a 23 year old with no coverage, and if i have a child, they won't have coverage.

IF we do not start removing the buracracy from medicine we will never have decent medical care.

  • I'll move to Iceland or some where if America doesn't shape up soon I'm 24 years oldssss

  • I'll help you pack your bags and drive you to the airport.

  • good any one ever heard of birth control oh ya they give free even to 11 year olds if you caint afford the kid close your legs there is decent med care but what a concept you have to work for rather then hold your hand out for a hand out

  • "Our president" is an anti-social flop. He kills poor people and so does the American health care system. In America, a rich person has the right to expect that the government will protect his property and further his interests, but a poor man has no right to expect the govenment to protect his life by letting him see a doctor. Only rich people have rights in America.

  • What's Medicare & Medicaid then? Forget the medical field for a moment, what about Social Security? These are fundamental social programs created by both parties. Giving handouts never works. Teach a man to fish, & they will fish forever. Give a man a fish & you may have crippled them for life. There's an in-between. When there are NO fish to be found anywhere b/c of industrialized drilling, & has nothing to due with their fishing ability, step in & help.

  • 1. Medicare and Medicaid were NOT created by both parties but by the Democratic party and the Republican party is STILL trying to destroy them.

    2. When somebody is sick they should be able to see a doctor, NOT have to go fishing for one. Health care is NOT something people must earn and prove their worthy of - it's something they deserve BECAUSE they are human beings. But America values money more than human life.

  • I was speaking to DevBlazed post which said, "SCHIP is not American" disagreeing with him. Sorry, I thought congress, who passed Medicare and Medicaid health coverage programs into law on July 30, 1965 were from BOTH parties. My bad. The main reason was national grief & soul-searching following the assassination of JFK. It gave enormous momentum to Johnson's promise to carry out Kennedy's programs. Criticize me all you like, but Christ on a cracker leave my awesome analogy out of it...

  • Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security were all proposed by a Democratic President (FDR & LBJ) and passed by an overwealmingly Democratic Congress. The reason SCHIP failed is because it was vetoed by a Republican president, and his veto was upheld by Republicans in a narrowly Democratic Congress. Sorry I didn't get your fish analogy. It smelled so fishy I just assumed you were a Republican.

  • The lack SCHIP override votes pisses me off to no end...

  • The new Darwinism is "those who have deserve to survive, and those who have not deserve to rot." It is like a manufactured hierarchy of who has a right to eliminate whom based on circumstance and opportunity. It sounds like hell works to me!

  • The wealthiest among us don't need to buy health insurance. Because they've already bought congressmen like Rep. Jeb Hensarling.

He's their insurance that they will never have to pay their fair share in taxes. That's why it's already as if they are getting their health care (and a whole lot more) for free.

  • This whole debate is so funny to me as an european.

  • yeah... I'm stunned really."We have the moral highground in the world"... lol.

  • no, sorry, yall have socialism.

  • Why is it that right wing nut jobs always use the word "socialism" insead of using their brains? By your definition, public schools and highways are "socialism." The police and fire department are examples of more "socialism." I'm so sick of trying to reason with all these CrAzY PeOpLe on the far right who wouldn't even know how to read and write if it were not for "socialism."

  • Devblazed: So does the US. What's your point?

  • "This whole debate is so funny to me as an european."

Really, Olof? I'm not amused at all.

There are many in the EU today that seek to import the American health "care" model.

Apparently WE are too stupid to learn with their mistakes.
